The Rays plan to rest Joel Peralta for a few days.
Peralta has had quite a workload this season, appearing in an AL-leading 47 games to this point. He admits to being a little worn out. "[My arm is] a little bit tired," he said. The Rays have already shortened his throwing program between outings and manager Joe Maddon said more steps might need to be taken in order to protect him. "We'll try to give him a little more rest, and only try to utilize him in the moments that we absolutely need him," Maddon said.
