Sat Oct 6 201221:04Parker pitches well in postseason debut
Jarrod Parker pitched well in his postseason debut on Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits over 6 1/3 strong innings in a loss to the Tigers.
Parker punched out five on the evening and issued just one walk. The Tigers got on the board in the first inning when Austin Jackson led off with a double and came around to score on a double play groundout. They added another in the third on a fielding error by Parker himself, then Alex Avila belted a solo homer in the fifth to complete the damage. It was a strong showing for the 23-year-old rookie right-hander who would get the call should the A's rally back to force a fifth game in the series.

Fri Oct 5 201214:49Jarrod Parker gets Game 1 nod for Athletics
Jarrod Parker will start Game 1 of the ALDS against the Tigers.
Parker began the season at Triple-A, but he wound up making 29 starts for the A's, posting a 3.47 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. He's the best choice for Game 1, though he'll face a tough task in opposing Justin Verlander. The A's will wisely start Tommy Milone in Game 2 at home, where he is a much better pitcher. Though the A's haven't announced the rest of the rotation, it's expected to be Brett Anderson in Game 3 and A.J. Griffin in Game 4.

Tue Oct 2 201201:32A's clinch berth, eliminate Angels, Rays
Jarrod Parker yielded three runs in six innings Monday as the A's beat the Rangers to clinch their postseason berth.
The A's eliminated the Angels and Rays and guaranteed themselves at least the wild card spot tonight. They can still claim the AL West by sweeping Texas. Parker ends his very promising rookie regular season 13-8 with a 3.47 ERA. That'd be good enough for Rookie of the Year honors in a lot of seasons. This year, he might not even finish in the top three.

Fri Sep 21 201222:53Parker extremely impressive in no-decision
Jarrod Paker was extremely impressive in a no-decision against the Yankees in New York on Friday, allowing just one run on six hits over eight strong frames.
Parker racked up seven strikeouts in the game without issuing a walk. The only blemish on his evening came on a Curtis Granderson sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. He and CC Sabathia were entrenched in a terrific pitcher's duel for the majority of the evening, but each team's bullpen would have eventual let-downs. The rookie right-hander will take an 11-8 record and 3.40 ERA into Wednesday's start against the Rangers in Texas.

Jarrod Parker pitched seven innings of two-run ball Saturday in a win over the Orioles.
The A's picked up a game on Texas tonight, leaving them just two back in the AL West. They're also six games up on any possibilities for the second wild card, so barring a complete meltdown, they're going to the postseason. Parker improved to 11-8 with a 3.51 ERA tonight. That'd earn him ROY consideration most years, but not in the Season of Trout.

Jarrod Parker took a no-hitter into the eighth and ended up allowing one hit in eight scoreless innings Monday in a defeat of the Rangers.
