Fri Mar 18 201119:11Abreu homers twice against San Diego
Bobby Abreu hit two solo home runs against the Padres on Friday.
The bombs were his first two of the spring, though he has driven in nine runs while posting a .375 average. Abreu looked to finally be showing his age last season, but consider him a 20-20 threat until he proves otherwise.

Fri Nov 19 201023:16Abreu wouldn't have a problem moving to DH
Bobby Abreu says he wouldn't have a problem being a full-time DH in 2011 if it makes the Angels better.
The Angels are expected to make a hard push to sign free agent Carl Crawford, and if they are able to land him would keep Torii Hunter in right field and Peter Bourjos in center. Abreu is easily the worst defender of the four players and a full-time DH role is probably the best thing for him at this point.

Sun Sep 19 201017:14Abreu goes deep twice in Angels' win
Bobby Abreu smacked a pair of solo homers against the Rays on Sunday.
The two long balls give Abreu 20 homers on the season to go with 21 steals. It's the ninth time he's reached the 20-20 mark in a season. However, with Abreu's average down to .255 and his other counting stats hurting as a result he hasn't quite lived up to expectations. Abreu will turn 37 next spring and owners would be best-served assuming that he continues down a path of modest decline.
Sat Sep 11 201002:42Abreu hits walkoff homer for Angels
Bobby Abreu hit a walkoff homer in the bottom of the 14th to give the Angels a 4-3 win over the Mariners on Friday.
It was Abreu's first hit of the game, though he had walked three times, and it was his 18th homer of the year. Brian Sweeney took the loss after giving up the homer in his second inning of relief.
Sun Sep 5 201019:22Abreu scores three, drives in three in win
Bobby Abreu drove in three runs and also scored three times versus the Athletics.
Abreu homered, singled, and walked to reach base, and he also helped his cause with a stolen base. Abreu was moved down to his current spot at No. 3 in the order due to his recent struggles, and for today at least that move worked. The move is a beneficial one to his fantasy value, and Abreu was likely to break out of the slump eventually anyway.
Mon Aug 30 201014:02Abreu, slumping, moved from leadoff spot
Bobby Abreu was moved from the leadoff spot Sunday and is likely to hit toward the middle of the Angels' lineup until his recent slump is snapped.
Abreu had played 20 consecutive games at the top of the Halos' batting order before Sunday. But he has just one hit in his last 21 at-bats. "Bobby in the leadoff spot is capable of doing the job, but he's not getting hits to fall," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "We're experimenting and we'll keep experimenting." Reggie Willits led off during Sunday's game.

Wed Aug 11 201018:37Abreu hits walkoff homer for Angels
Bobby Abreu hit a walkoff homer off Jesse Chavez in the bottom of the 10th as the Angels topped the Royals 2-1 on Wednesday.
The Angels managed a three-game sweep despite scoring a modest 11 runs in the series against Kansas City. Abreu provided much of the offense, knocking in five runs and scoring five times in the three games. Hopefully, it's a sign of things to come for him.
Tue Aug 10 201001:01Angels' Abreu knocks in four in win
Bobby Abreu went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and a two-run double to lead the Angels to a 6-4 win over the Royals on Monday.
Abreu has always disliked batting leadoff, but he had a great game from the top spot in the order tonight. It's the first time since April 13 that he's driven in four runs in a game. All four of his RBI came with two out.
Thu Jul 29 201021:31Angels have not made OF Abreu available
Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that the Angels have not made outfielder Bobby Abreu available via trade.
The Angels still believe they have a shot at the playoffs despite being 8.5 games back in the American League West and 12.5 games back in the hunt for the Wild Card. Abreu, 36, has hit .253/.347/.416 with 12 homers and 56 RBI over 380 at-bats this season. He's owed $9 million next year.

Sun Jul 11 201019:19Abreu goes deep, steals a base in loss
Bobby Abreu hit a solo home run, stole a base, and reached safely a total of three times against the Athletics on Sunday.
Abreu doubled and singled in addition to his homer, but only managed a run or RBI when he drove himself in. Abreu is on pace for more doubles (36 vs. 29) and homers (18 vs. 15) than he totaled in 2009, but he's been a disappointment thanks to a career-low .257 average. And since he's on pace for one of his worst seasons in terms of strikeouts (133), owners shouldn't assume the average is simply coming back.
Wed Jun 30 201001:27Angels' Abreu delivers three-run double
Bobby Abreu had a three-run double in the sixth inning to help the Angels edge the Rangers 6-5 on Tuesday.
Abreu has been something of a disappointment this year, but he has excelled in Anaheim. He's batting .295/.390/.500 with six homers and eight steals in 39 home games. On the road, he's at .242/.337/.349 with two homers and four steals.
Sat Jun 19 201016:15Abreu has four hits in win over Cubs
Bobby Abreu was 4-for-5 with an RBI single, a walk and two runs in a blowout win over the Cubs on Saturday afternoon.
Abreu entered the day batting just .217 (13-for-60) this month, so it was nice to him finally bust out. That being said, all four hits were singles. Abreu is batting .272/.357/.419 over his first 265 at-bats this season. We're so used to him being productive that it's easy to forget that he is 36 years old. Even a player like Abreu will regress someday.

It's a scheduled day off. With Abreu out, Howie Kendrick will bat second while Maicer Izturis hits third.

Wed May 12 201022:49Abreu gets two swipes in loss
Bobby Abreu stole two bases and added a sac fly in Wednesday's loss to the Rays.
Abreu is up to six steals already, proving that he still has elite baserunning skills at age 36. There's nothing sexy about Abreu, but we know what we're going to get. He's on his way to another solid fantasy season.
Tue Apr 13 201016:30Abreu hits grand slam versus Yankees
Bobby Abreu hit a grand slam off Yankees reliever David Robertson in the ninth inning Tuesday.
It was the first grand slam for the Angels since Mark Teixeira hit one off Yankees reliever Edwar Ramirez in 2008. Abreu has two homers and two doubles in his last four games.
