Wed Aug 11 201000:51Royals' Getz goes hitless in loss
Chris Getz went hitless as the Royals' leadoff man on Tuesday and is just 5-for-32 in August.
The Royals have resumed playing Getz pretty regularly lately, even though he's been just as awful as ever. He's hitting .225/.292/.266 through 169 at-bats. Given his lack of versatility -- he really can't help a team anywhere other than second base -- he should be in serious danger of falling out of Kansas City's plans.
Fri Apr 30 201011:47Getz activated from 15-day DL
Royals activated 2B Chris Getz from the 15-day disabled list.
Getz has been out of action since April 17 due to a strained right oblique. He's expected to resume second base duties, while Alberto Callaspo will shift back over to third base, leaving Alex Gordon on the bench, or perhaps the minor leagues. Getz was batting .207 (6-for-29) with one RBI, four runs scored and three RBI before going on the DL.
Thu Apr 29 201019:51Getz to return from disabled list on Friday
Chris Getz (oblique) is scheduled to return from the disabled list and rejoin the Royals' starting lineup on Friday.
Getz has been on the disabled list since April 17 with a strained right oblique and is expected to take over starting second base duties immediately. That likely means Alberto Callaspo will take over at third base and Alex Gordon will hit the bench. Gordon might also be demoted to Triple-A.

Sat Apr 24 201020:17Getz (oblique) set to return from DL Friday
Chris Getz (oblique) is expected to return from the disabled list on Friday, the first day he's eligible.
Getz was placed on the disabled list last week with a strained right oblique. "I think we're pretty much in the clear in terms of the injury," he said Saturday. "It's pretty much healed. Now, it's just, (I've) got to wait out the rest of the DL time." He will recapture starting second base duties, with Alberto Callaspo sliding to third and Alex Gordon hitting the pine.

Sat Apr 17 201009:16Royals Placed Getz on 15-day DL
Royals placed 2B Chris Getz on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique.
With Alex Gordon on the mend and the surfeit of second baseman on their roster, the Royals shouldn't miss Getz too much. He had started the season 6-for-29 in nine games.
Fri Apr 16 201020:08Getz scratched from Friday's lineup
Chris Getz was scratched from Friday's lineup against the Twins after feeling tightnes in his right oblique.
It doesn't sound too serious. Willie Bloomquist will play second base and bat ninth against Scott Baker.
