Sat Dec 28 201302:16Green leads bench unit in minutes in blowout
Gerald Green led the Suns' bench with 27 minutes in Friday's blowout loss to the Warriors, scoring seven points on 3-of-9 shooting with two rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Green has been hot lately but we're looking at this as more of a throwaway game than one to make big measurements with. Markieff Morris scored nine points on 4-of-13 shooting with six rebounds, one three, one steal and two blocks in 22 minutes, and Marcus Morris had seven points on 2-of-8 shooting with one three and one steal in 18 minutes in the loss.

Tue Dec 24 201304:02Gerald Green blows out Lakers, hits six 3s
Gerald Green hit six 3-pointers on his way to 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting against Lakers on Monday.
He's pouring it on over his last three games with a total of 16 3-pointers in that span. Interestingly, he's made more 3-pointers by himself than the Nuggets (13) and Bobcats (15) have made over their last three games. While we have seen this movie before, it's kind of tough to leave him on the wire since he's played in 28 minutes for three consecutive games.

Sun Dec 22 201300:56Gerald Green suddenly relevant again for Suns
Gerald Green played 28 minutes and hit 6-of-10 shots and four 3-pointers for 22 points, one rebound, two assists, a steal and a block on Saturday.
He also played 28 minutes on Friday when he scored 19, and he's now averaging 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 5.0 3-pointers over his last two games. He scored five points in just 17 minutes on Wednesday, so we'd like to see him stay hot for a couple more games before declaring him ready for a pick up. Keep a close eye on him Monday against the Lakers.

Sat Dec 21 201301:57Icing on the cupcake: Gerald Green scores 19
Gerald Green scored 19 points against the Nuggets on Friday, making six 3-pointers with eight boards, two assists and one block in 28 minutes.
His numbers have taken a nosedive since the return of Eric Bledsoe and his 19-point game tonight was his best scoring effort since Nov. 24. Green entered tonight shooting just 29.4 percent in his seven December games, so he'll need to do it again before he deserves a pickup in most formats.

Sun Dec 15 201323:28Gerald Green solid in 21 minutes off bench
Gerald Green played 21 minutes off the bench vs. Golden State, notching 10 points with one 3-pointer, four boards and two blocks to his credit.
We're fully aware of Green's potential when given sufficient playing time and touches, but his splits as a starter are drastically better than when he's coming off the bench. It will likely take an injury to Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic or P.J. Tucker for Green to be an every-day starter in standard fantasy leagues.

Sat Dec 7 201303:19Green scores 10 points off the bench
Gerald Green scored 10 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 4-of-9 shots (including two triples) with four rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes.
This is going to be a pretty good representation of what to hope for if everything is going well. That makes him a better option in deeper formats, but if he can hit a pair of threes on most nights he will have some low-end value in standard leagues, too.

Tue Dec 3 201323:51Gerald Green scores six points off bench
Gerald Green played 24 minutes off the bench on Tuesday, shooting 1-of-8 from the field for six points with three assists and one 3-pointer.
He said he was comfortable coming off the bench, but his first game will be one he'll want to forget. On the bright side, he attempted seven shots from beyond the arc and he should be able to carve out a decent role as long as he doesn't struggle badly enough to force coach Jeff Hornacek's hand. He's not a slam-dunk player to own in standard leagues, so his owners can cut him for a hot free agent.

Tue Dec 3 201312:41Gerald Green fine with new bench role
Gerald Green is on board with his new role coming off the bench now that Eric Bledsoe is healthy.
"I've liked the opportunity [to start], but I know Eric is a better player starting than coming off the bench," Green said. "I'm down with whatever helps the team win." Green should still see plenty of minutes coming off the Suns' bench and could eventually usurp P.J. Tucker in the starting lineup, so he's still worth holding onto despite the demotion.

Sun Dec 1 201300:34Gerald Green off bench in second half
Gerald Green started over Eric Bledsoe on Saturday, but then came off the bench as Bledsoe started the second half of the loss to the Jazz.
Green had 14 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals and four more 3-pointers on 5-of-9 shooting. With Bledsoe back near full strength and Green likely ready to lose his starting job, he goes from a strong starting fantasy option to a nice player to own. Don't drop him, as he could end up eventually replacing P.J. Tucker at small forward, but even if that doesn't happen, Green has played well enough to stick in the Suns' rotation going forward.

Sat Nov 30 201304:38Gerald Green hits three treys in win
Gerald Green hit three 3-point shots in Friday's win over the Jazz, and finished with 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting, one rebound and one assist in 29 minutes with Eric Bledsoe back in the lineup.
Green did not have a steal or block but the key to his value will always be his 3-point shooting, and as long as he's getting this type of run it's probable that he holds usable value in 12-team formats. Bledsoe played just 28 minutes tonight, so Green isn't in the clear yet but his play over the past two weeks just might push him over the standard league hump.

Mon Nov 25 201322:51Green scores 12 points in start for Bledsoe
Gerald Green started at shooting guard for Eric Bledsoe (shin) once again on Monday, hitting 5-of-13 shots (2-of-9 3PTs) for 12 points with two rebounds, four assists and one steal.
There is little question to how Green will produce when Bledsoe is out, but the question will be how badly he is hurt when Bledsoe returns. He's done enough to carve out a substantial role off the bench, and while we can't guarantee he'll be worth holding onto he has done enough to warrant holding on to find out.

Sun Nov 24 201320:28Gerald Green scores 20 points in road win
Gerald Green turned in another impressive performance on Sunday, scoring 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting with four 3-pointers, eight boards and two steals while starting in place of Eric Bledsoe (shin).
Bledsoe has had trouble even walking and it seems unlikely that he'll return for Monday's road game in Miami, which means Green should have at least one more start at SG this week. He's averaged 11 fewer minutes coming off the bench this season, but that might change given his stellar play over the past few weeks.

Fri Nov 22 201323:05Green has rough night in start for Bledsoe
Gerald Green started for injured Eric Bledsoe (shin) once again on Friday against the Bobcats, hitting just 5-of-15 shots (0-for-8 from deep) for 14 points, one rebound, three assists and one steal in 35 minutes.
There's nothing surprising about the shape of this line other than that fact that Green didn't convert on a couple of threes here. Aside from a rocky game tonight, he has earned an increased role off the bench when Bledsoe returns so owners will want to see that through in most cases.

Thu Nov 21 201302:23Gerald Green scores 23 points vs. Kings
Gerald Green followed up Tuesday night's gem with another productive line on Wednesday, scoring 23 points with two boards and six 3-pointers in 36 minutes.
He shot 8-of-13 from the field tonight and has shockingly raised his field goal percentage to an even 50.0 percent on the season. Green was one of the most inefficient scorers in the NBA last season with his 7.1 attempts going for only 7.0 points per game in Indiana. He's earning some minutes as the sixth man at the very least and he even saw a nice chunk of time at small forward tonight. His 10 triples in the last two games make him an intriguing, high-upside pickup in standard leagues even with Eric Bledsoe likely to make it back for Friday.

Wed Nov 20 201301:29Gerald Green scores season-high 23
Gerald Green got a start in place of Eric Bledsoe (shin) and blew up for a season-high 23 points, thre boards, four assists, a steal, two blocks and four 3-pointers.
Up until now we have only been pimping Green when he is slated to start, but you have to think Jeff Hornacek has taken notice of what Green is doing when he gets minutes. He's playing with confidence and can also play small forward, and even if he abruptly goes back to the bench once Bledsoe is back, he might be worth stashing in case he turns into a solid sixth-man candidate for the Suns. Especially when you consider that starting SF P.J. Tucker has scored more than nine points just one time in his last eight games. And any time you hear that Bledsoe or Goran Dragic will miss time, Green becomes an automatic start, even if he doesn't steal Tucker's job.

Thu Nov 14 201301:59Gerald Green scores 17, could play more
Gerald Green came off the bench and hit 7-of-13 shots and two 3-pointers for 17 points and two rebounds in 26 minutes on Wednesday.
The news here is that Goran Dragic just can't stay healthy, and left tonight's game with a head injury that required four stitches. If it keeps him out, look for Green to start in his place, as Eric Bledsoe would slide over to point guard. The Suns play Brooklyn on Friday and are then off until Tuesday, so it's possible that Dragic could get the night off against the Nets, meaning Green would make for a good spot start.

Sat Nov 9 201308:02Green scores 12 points in another start
Gerald Green started for injured Goran Dragic (ankle) in the Suns' 114-103 win over the Nuggets on Friday, scoring 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds, two steals and one block in 30 minutes.
Green didn't hit the gaudy number of threes he had been hitting in the past week, but he has done just about everything you could ask of a player that is seeking to carve out consistent playing time. When Dragic returns it will shift Green back to the bench where he can back up both wing slots, but it wouldn't be surprising if he holds onto a significant role in a fantasy friendly environment.

Thu Nov 7 201302:03Gerald Green scores 15 in loss to Spurs
Gerald Green made another start for Goran Dragic (ankle) on Wednesday and played 35 minutes, finishing with 15 points, a block and three more 3-pointers in a tough loss to the Spurs.
He had six 3-pointers on Tuesday and if you rolled the dice on him this week, so far, so good, as he's averaging 16.5 points and 4.5 3-pointers in two games this week. Dragic could play on Friday, but that is far from guaranteed, and we have a feeling that Green will continue to produce for at least the next two games. The Suns play just two games next week, meaning this could be the end of Green's run, at least for now.

Tue Nov 5 201323:31Gerald Green hits six triples, scores 18
Gerald Green shot 6-of-12 from the field for 18 points with three rebounds, three assists, three blocks and six 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Pelicans on Tuesday.
He matched his career high with those six triples and he's clearly the replacement at shooting guard while Goran Dragic (ankle) is out of the lineup. Besides a few heat-check jumpers, Green was taking smarter shots than usual in a big road win to get the Suns to 3-1. His defense wasn't too bad on the other end, which raises a big question of whether coach Jeff Hornacek would play his high-flying swingman at small forward upon Dragic's return. He's exhibited nice upside and is one of the hotter pickups out there right now.

Tue Nov 5 201312:11Gerald Green will start vs Pelicans Tuesday
With Goran Dragic out with an ankle injury, Gerald Green will earn the start against the Pelicans on Tuesday.
Green is shooting over 52% this season and responded to 33 minutes of playing time in Sunday's loss by putting up 21 points with five 3-pointers and 8 rebounds. With his minutes likely to top at least 25 again on Tuesday, Green is a great play for owners looking for a spot-start or for anyone playing on FanDuel.
