Davis (groin) is not expected to play in Friday's game against the Lakers, Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times reports.

With this news, Davis will miss the first two games of the season and the severity of his injury is still unknown. However, he's currently behind Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Spencer Hawes on the depth chart, so there's no reason to rush him back and cause further injury when the Clippers have enough man power in the frontcourt as it is. The next opportunity for Davis to make his season debut will be against the Kings on Sunday.

He's without a clear timetable, though the fact that he was considered questionable earlier in the week indicates the issue isn't anything overly serious. Consider Davis questionable for Friday's game against the Lakers, after which the Clips host Sacramento on Sunday.

It's not clear how he got injured, but his availability for the start of the regular season is in jeopardy. However, Davis is fourth in the pecking order for minutes in the frontcourt, behind Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Spencer Hawes, so his fantasy value is very limited.

Davis will earn $1.2 million in his second season in Los Angeles. After a mid-season trade that sent him from the Magic to the Clips, Davis was underwhelming in his 23 games played. Big Baby averaged only 4.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.3 assists as a member of the Clippers. With Spencer Hawes likely being the first big of the bench for Doc Rivers, Davis' role may be further limited heading into next season.

Davis looked terrible in the playoffs and he'll have a hard time getting much on the open market, and it's logical that he'd want to keep playing for the contending Clippers.

Davis went from starter with Orlando averaging 30.1 minutes per game, to designated bench warmer in Los Angeles, averaging just 13.4 minutes per game. It's possible Davis seeks out a team that will give him a larger role and more minutes, and where he lands will dictate his fantasy value. However, even at his best, Davis is a bottom of the barrel guy who can give you some rebounds and points, but not much else.

After being sent to the rocker room during the second quarter of Saturday's game by coach Doc Rivers, Davis opened up about what happened on Monday. "Sometimes [being emotional] can be a good thing and sometimes it's a bad thing," Davis said. "[Saturday] was basically a bad thing. But it's all about getting better." It's hard to get excited about Davis while he's in Doc Rivers' doghouse, but he's only averaging 3.0 points and 2.1 boards in 12.1 minutes over his last 10 games anyway, so there just isn't a lot of fantasy value here.

He went to the locker room and apparently coach Doc Rivers is not a fan of something Davis did. He isn't called Big Baby for nothing, so there's no reason to think he'll be a significant contributor even if Blake Griffin's back injury sidelines him.

As expected, he hasn't been a big part of the rotation with just 12.7 minutes per game in his previous seven games. Davis doesn't block enough shots or shoot the ball well enough to be owned in almost any format.

He did not take his physical yet and is expected to play on Wednesday. The last time Davis was on the court, he hurt his Achilles tendon and could not return. Regardless, he's not a very attractive asset in almost any fantasy league.

Glen Davis traveled to New Orleans to officially sign with the Clippers and he may be available vs. the Pelicans on Monday evening.

Whether he'll actually crack Doc Rivers' rotation without practicing is another question, especially since he's been battling a sore Achilles. He's not worth fantasy owners' attention in standard leagues while Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan are dominating the frontcourt.

Everything is all but official, as Big Baby can't officially sign until 5pm ET. Assuming he is not claimed off of waivers in a shocker, Davis will add some much needed frontcourt depth to the Clippers. However, in a backup role, his fantasy outlook isn't that great.

Jason Collins will add some frontcourt depth to Brooklyn, however he does not have any fantasy appeal.

Kevin Garnett has been pitching the idea of signing with Brooklyn to Glen Davis.

Davis played with Garnett for the first four years of his career in Boston, and they won a championship together in 2008. Garnett and Davis were reportedly very close during their time together in Boston, so it's possible Garnett's words have a strong influence on Davis. If Davis were to sign with Brooklyn he could definitely carve out some meaningful playing time, and could be a decent low-end fantasy option. Stay tuned for more updates on where Big Baby may land.

The Clippers are believed to be the favorite with the Nets not too far behind for the services of Big Baby. The Magic used him a lot in the post, which accounted for 24 percent of his shots, but teams probably won't want to do that with better options. He'll only be used as a second-unit guy and his game won't translate to fantasy formats.

The Clippers and Nets are said to be in a battle to land Glen Davis, who was recently bought out by the Magic.

He could makes some noise with the Nets, but it's hard to see him being anything more than a role player for the Clippers, where he would back up Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
