Sun Mar 2 201416:26Arron Afflalo (ankle) will not play vs. 76ers
Arron Afflalo (ankle, illness) has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the visiting 76ers.
Victor Oladipo, Moe Harkless and E'Twaun Moore will all get extra opportunities in his continued absence. The Magic have a light two-game schedule this week, playing on Wednesday and Saturday, so with any luck this will be Afflalo's last DNP. Owners with weekly lineups may want to play it safe and keep him benched given the unfavorable schedule.

Sun Mar 2 201415:55Arron Afflalo (ankle) doubtful to play Sunday
Arron Afflalo (ankle) is doubtful to play the 76ers on Sunday.
Fantasy owners will rue his absence vs. the Sixers' porous defense, but it makes sense for the lottery-bound Magic to play it safe with their veteran SG. Victor Oladipo, Moe Harkless and E'Twaun Moore will all get extra opportunities in his continued absence.

Fri Feb 28 201415:37Arron Afflalo (ankle) not traveling for Sat.
Arron Afflalo (ankle) will not travel for Saturday's game against the Heat.
He is also under the weather on top of his sprained ankle. The Magic will return home for Sunday to face the Sixers and Afflalo should be considered questionable for that game. Moe Harkless has stepped up in the starting lineup and is worth a look for any owner not putting a premium on percentages. E'Twaun Moore has also seen more playing time and shots.

Fri Feb 28 201411:35Arron Afflalo (ankle) in doubt for Saturday
Arron Afflalo (ankle, illness) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Heat.
Afflalo did not practice Friday due to both his ankle issue and because he's under the weather. Given that, we'd be a little surprised if he suited up Saturday considering he hasn't played or practiced in a full week. Look for the Magic to roll with a starting five of Jameer Nelson, Victor Oladipo, Mo Harkless, Tobias Harris and Nik Vucevic again. Harkless is averaging 8.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 0.9 3-pointers in 19 starts this season.

Wed Feb 26 201417:51Arron Afflalo still hasn't traveled with team
Arron Afflalo (ankle) did not travel for Wednesday's game against the Sixers.
This will be his third game out of the lineup and he should be considered questionable for Saturday's road game in Miami. Moe Harkless was effective on Tuesday with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting, but he does have some inconsistent games on his resume. Of course, going against the team that traded him away and a great matchup make him an interesting plug-and-play option.

Sun Feb 23 201421:26Arron Afflalo (ankle) ruled out for Tuesday
Updating a previous item, Arron Afflalo's foot injury will prevent him from traveling to Washington for Tuesday's game, meaning he'll miss his second straight game.
Look for Moe Harkless to make another start and consider Affalo highly questionable for Wednesday's game in Philadelphia, as well. He's day-to-day after suffering the injury

Sun Feb 23 201416:25Arron Afflalo will join team this week
Arron Afflalo (ankle) will join the Magic in Washington on Tuesday or in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
It's unknown if he will play and coach Jacque Vaughn did not rule him out from those games. Afflalo not traveling for Sunday's game against the Raptors probably isn't a great sign, so he should be considered questionable at best. Moe Harkless will get the start on Sunday while Victor Oladipo will look to build off one of the best games of his career.

Sat Feb 22 201417:20Arron Afflalo doesn't make trip, out Sunday
Arron Afflalo (ankle) did not travel for Sunday's game against the Raptors and will not play.
He wanted to play through the sprain in Friday's double-overtime win and his ankle must really be swollen to not travel with the team. The Magic are also on the road for a game in Washington on Tuesday, at Philadelphia on Wednesday and finish up at Miami on Saturday, so Afflalo might miss more time. Moe Harkless replaced Afflalo last night and figures to get the first shot.

Fri Feb 21 201422:11Arron Afflalo twists ankle late in game
Arron Afflalo suffered an ankle sprain on Friday night and did not return.
He was in a lot of pain and he could miss time due to the injury. Afflalo tried to play through and he's always been pretty tough when it comes to injuries. There's a good chance his ankle is going to swell up on him, so he should be considered questionable for Sunday. Afflalo finished with 32 points, three boards, three assists and four 3-pointers. Moe Harkless would step up should Afflalo need to miss time.

Wed Feb 19 201419:35Magic expected to keep Afflalo after deadline
The Magic are "strongly inclined" to keep Arron Afflalo past the trade deadline, according to Yahoo! Sports.
There were some reports of the Bobcats being interested in Double-A, but the Magic might be better suited to keep their swingman around for a deal around the NBA draft. There will likely be some more rumors on Thursday, but Afflalo owners should probably assume he'll be staying put based on this report.

Wed Feb 19 201415:38The Bobcats have interest in Arron Afflalo
The Bobcats are reportedly interested in acquiring Arron Afflalo, according to the Sporting News.
There have been some murmurs among the Bobcats local writers of this interest, so this rumor holds at least a little bit of weight. The Magic are obvious sellers and are looking to deal Arron Afflalo or Jameer Nelson for draft picks and younger assets. Nothing is imminent and a move to Charlotte wouldn't hurt Afflalo's fantasy value too much. Gerald Henderson would lose some shots and a little bit of playing time.

Wed Feb 19 201400:50Arron Afflalo scores 21 in loss to Bucks
Arron Afflalo hit 9-of-15 shots and three 3-pointers for 21 points on Tuesday.
He didn't do much else, but it was nice to see him score some points. He scored just 10 and 7 points in his previous two games and his was his highest scoring total since January. Just in time for the trade deadline.

Wed Feb 12 201421:41Afflalo has 10 pts in final game before break
In Orlando's final game before the All-Star break, Arron Afflalo notched 10 points, one 3-pointer, four rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes of action.
The Magic are routinely fielding trade calls about Afflalo but so far nothing has inspired GM Rob Hennigan to part ways with his 28-year-old swingman. Orlando plays two more games before the trade deadline, on Feb. 18 and 19, so even if he's dealt this may not have been his final game in a Magic uniform.

Wed Feb 12 201409:25Magic GM not 'aggressively' pursuing trades
Magic GM Rob Hennigan said that he is not "aggressively" pursuing trades with the trade deadline just over a week away.
Hennigan is "exploring all options that may improve [the Magic]" and it wouldn't be surprising to see a deal go down whether or not it's being "aggressively" pursued. Arron Afflalo, Jameer Nelson and Glen Davis stand out as productive veterans on affordable contracts who could be traded to a contending team in exchange for young players and draft picks. To date, however, the Magic have seemed less than impressed with the offers they've received.

Sun Feb 9 201422:00Pacers hold Arron Afflalo to single-digits
The Pacers held Arron Afflalo to single-digit points for the third time all season on Sunday, as he shot 3-of-10 to finish with seven points in 34 minutes.
He even missed both of his free throws, uncharacteristically, and this can safely be dismissed as a fluke against one of the league's top defenses. He'll face another tough defense in the Grizzlies on Wednesday, before heading off for six days of rest during the All-Star break.

Fri Feb 7 201422:15Arron Afflalo has a rare off night in win
Arron Afflalo made his 23rd start at shooting guard on Friday vs. the Thunder, scoring 16 points with two boards, five assists, one steal and one 3-pointer on 3-of-11 shooting in 37 minutes.
By comparison, he's made 25 starts at small forward and there really has not been much of a difference in his output. Afflalo has scored 20 points per game in both spots in the lineup and gets about the same amount of shots, too. He has cooled off from his blistering start, but there's nothing to worry about here.

Mon Feb 3 201421:25Arron Afflalo scores 20 points in loss to IND
Arron Afflalo scored a team-high 20 points against the Pacers on Monday with two boards, two assists, one block and four 3-pointers.
His four 3-pointers were a big positive after failing to make more than one in any of his previous five games. Afflalo's triples have been on the decline all season, from 2.5 in November to 1.2 in January. He is still shooting somewhat efficiently and ranks 12th in the NBA in 3-point percentage, so better days could be ahead for Double A.

Sun Feb 2 201416:00Arron Afflalo scores 18 points vs. Celtics
Arron Afflalo scored a team-high 18 points with three boards, four assists and one 3-pointer during Sunday's 96-89 loss to the Celtics.
The loss of Jameer Nelson was apparent for the Magic today, but it hasn't really hurt Afflalo on the season. When Nelson is off the floor, Afflalo shot 45.8 percent from the field on a usage rate of 20.9 compared to 47.6 percent from the field and a usage rate of 23.4 percent with him. In simpler terms, he should be fine without his point guard despite some slightly less productivity in the past this season.

Fri Jan 31 201423:24Arron Afflalo scores 21 points vs. Bucks Fri.
Arron Afflalo scored a team-high 21 points against the Bucks during an easy 113-102 win on Friday, adding five boards, two assists and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.
He scored 14 points on his five field goal attempts to start the game and might have put up his best game in 2014 had the Bucks not been blown out. Afflalo's season so far wasn't quite good enough to get an All-Star nod, but he's been one of the best value picks in standard leagues.

Fri Jan 24 201422:42Afflalo gets back on track against Lakers
Arron Afflalo got back on track after a pair of duds, scoring 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting (2-of-3 from deep, 7-of-9 from the line) with six rebounds and one steal in 33 minutes.
It came against a tired and defenseless Lakers team but it's good to see that his foot isn't a glaring issue. Unless he gives us reason to look at that anymore, owners can turn the page.
