Arron Afflalo (illness) remains "on track" to play vs. the Kings on Saturday.
Afflalo will jump into the fray after one missed game. He's coasting along with career-highs in nearly every category this season, including points (21.6), 3-pointers (2.2), rebounds (4.7) and assists (4.0), so make sure he's back in your active lineups.

Fri Dec 20 201311:25Arron Afflalo (illness) back at Fri practice
Arron Afflalo (illness) returned to practice on Friday and expects to play against the Kings on Saturday.
Afflalo missed Wednesday's game against the Jazz with a tonsil issue, but it sounds as if a few days off did his body good as he said he will likely play Saturday. If Afflalo is unable to suit up Saturday, Tobias Harris would get the start in his absence, but it's looking as if Afflalo's owners will be getting their long-range marksman back and that Team Tobias will be coming off the bench Saturday.

Thu Dec 19 201311:22Arron Afflalo (ilness) misses Thurs practice
Arron Afflalo (illness) was held out of Thursday's practice.
The Magic don't play again until Saturday against the Kings, so there is a good chance that Afflalo will have enough time to recover from his illness before then. If Afflalo is unable to suit up Saturday, Tobias Harris would likely get the start again after posting 14 points and 10 rebounds in Afflalo's absence during Wednesday's loss to the Jazz.

Wed Dec 18 201317:19Arron Afflalo (illness) will not play on Wed.
Arron Afflalo will not play against the Jazz on Wednesday due to an illness.
He will be inactive and what will be his first DNP on the season. Afflalo has been outstanding in his 37.6 minutes per game, averaging 21.6 points and 2.2 triples per game. He should be considered probable for Saturday's game against the Kings. As for tonight, Tobias Harris will get the start at small forward and should have a chance for his best night of the season. Moe Harkless could also benefit on the wing after playing 15 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.

Tue Dec 17 201300:59Afflalo scores 23 points with full line
Arron Afflalo scored 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting (2-of-2 3PTs, 5-of-6 FTs) with eight rebounds and four assists in Monday's win over the Bulls.
Afflalo has fallen all the way down to being a top-40 play over the past two weeks, which was fairly predictable considering his shooting percentages were unsustainable after his hot start. He's now the undisputed leader of this team but he might not be the elite play he was earlier in the year now that there's a full house in Orlando.

Tue Dec 3 201322:37Afflalo, Oladipo, Davis score career highs
Arron Afflalo scored a career-high 43 points against the Sixers on Tuesday, adding six boards, five assists, two steals and five 3-pointers on 14-of-27 shooting.
He was 10-of-11 from the line and was getting all sorts of good looks tonight. Afflalo didn't make a 3-pointer in any of his previous three games, so he made up some ground tonight against the team that allows the most 3-pointers per game on the season. There were some rumors of Afflalo getting traded back in the preseason and he's certainly gained some attention from teams with his spectacular offense output in his first 18 games of the season. He's become one of the best late-round steals of fantasy drafts.

Mon Dec 2 201322:22Arron Afflalo scores 21 points in loss
Arron Afflalo was outstanding in a losing effort on Monday, shooting 10-of-16 from the field for 21 points with six boards, two assists and no 3-pointers in 31 minutes.
All Magic players not named Arron Afflalo shot 32.8 percent in an ugly loss. This was the third game in a row in which Afflalo has failed to make a 3-pointer, something that happened just three times in the first 13 games of the year. He gets the Sixers on Tuesday -- a team that leads the NBA in 3-pointers allowed -- so he should get it going in that game.

Fri Nov 29 201323:28Arron Afflalo failed to hit a trey again
Arron Afflalo failed to make a 3-pointer for the season game in a row on Friday, scoring 17 points with one rebound, two assists and one steal on 6-of-14 shooting.
He had three attempts from downtown after missing two on Wednesday, but he was still able to score a combined 35 points without his greatest asset. Afflalo entered tonight making 2.6 triples per game and will likely get it going against the Wizards on Monday night.

Tue Nov 26 201323:49Arron Afflalo keeps burying triples
Arron Afflalo knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to 26 points against the Hawks on Tuesday, adding three assists, two steals and one turnover on 9-of-18 shooting.
He only needed seven attempts from beyond the arc and he simply will not slow down. Afflalo is shooting 51 percent from deep this year and only Klay Thompson, Damian Lillard and Wes Matthews have made more triples. He's a career 39 percent shooter from that range, so conventional wisdom suggests he has to cool off at some point.

Sat Nov 23 201323:06Arron Afflalo cools off a tad on Saturday
Arron Afflalo cooled off and still had a solid line against the Heat on Saturday, scoring 18 points with seven boards, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes.
He was on fire over his last the games with 30.3 points per game and 5.0 triples over that stretch. Afflalo has been one of the biggest breakouts so far this year and entering tonight shooting 49.4 percent is shockingly impressive. Although, he's only taking 26 percent of his shots in the paint, so he's not likely to sustain that rate. He's a classic sell-high player, which isn't saying much based on how incredible he's been.

Wed Nov 20 201323:24Arron Afflalo hits seven more 3-pointers
Arron Afflalo stayed red hot Wednesday, hitting seven 3-pointers and scoring 30 points on 9-of-16 shooting in a loss to the Heat.
Afflalo has been out of his mind all season long and is averaging a ridiculous 26 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 4.0 3-pointers over his last five games on 56 percent shooting. It's clear he's not going to continue to shoot it this well forever, but the longer he keeps this up, the more he looks like a player to hold instead of a guy you should be looking to sell high on. But if Victor Oladipo ever gets cooking, or Afflalo is traded out of Orlando, we're guessing his value will take a substantial hit. Ride him until he breaks.

Wed Nov 13 201322:38Arron Afflalo sets career high w/ 36 points
Arron Afflalo stayed hot on Wednesday and exploded for career highs of 36 points and eight 3-pointers in a win over the Bucks, scoring 29 points in the second half.
Afflalo also had eight rebounds, six assists and two steals, hitting 11-of-15 shots, and is having an amazing season. Yes, the Magic are probably showcasing him for a trade, but he's managed to lead them on a near nightly basis, while also possibly stunting the growth of Victor Oladipo in the process. Feel free to sell high on him if you own him, but if he stays in Orlando, he could play well all season long.

Sun Nov 3 201320:52Arron Afflalo scores 16 points w/ full line
Arron Afflalo's hot start to the season continued with 16 points, six rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 37 minutes in Sunday's emphatic win vs. the Nets.
He knocked down 3-of-5 shots from downtown and only turned the ball over twice. At this rate it will be hard for Jacque Vaughn to take Afflalo off the court, despite Victor Oladipo's need for playing time, which may be another reason Orlando is reportedly trying to flip Jameer Nelson for a first-round pick.

Fri Nov 1 201323:36Afflalo posts 30-4-4 line in win over NO
Arron Afflalo scored 30 points on 10-of-14 shooting (4-of-5 3PTs, 6-of-7 FTs) with four rebounds and four assists in the Magic's 110-90 win over the Pelicans on Friday.
Affalo went big on Wednesday with a 28-9-5 line after a really quiet start on Tuesday, and he looks like a solid late-round value with some mid-round upside if everything goes well.

Thu Oct 31 201301:43Arron Afflalo posts big line for Magic
Arron Afflalo hit 11-of-22 shots and three 3-pointers for 28 points, nine rebounds, five assists and a steal in Wednesday's overtime loss.
Afflalo was 3-of-14 in the opener and scored just nine points, but looked like a different player tonight. He'll be pushed by Victor Oladipo and is a trade candidate, but if you own him, run him out there again in the next one.

Tue Oct 29 201322:46Arron Afflalo makes 3-of-14 from the field
Arron Afflalo had a rough start to his 2013-14 season, shooting 3-of-14 from the field for nine points with three boards, one assist and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes.
The shot selection wasn't anything special for Afflalo tonight and he took a handful of contested mid-range jumpers. The Magic certainly did a nice job in the Dwight Howard deal last summer, but their young depth on the wing makes Afflalo, who was acquired from Denver in that deal, a trade candidate. He's still worth owning in most leagues based on getting 14 shots tonight and having a bad matchup to start the year.

Tue Oct 22 201323:01Arron Afflalo posts big line in Magic loss
Arron Afflalo started at shooting guard on Tuesday and had 17 points, six assists, a steal and three 3-pointers on 7-of-15 shooting.
He played just six minutes on Sunday, but tonight was a different story. Jameer Nelson sat this one out in order to rest, freeing time for Afflalo to play SG, while Victor Oladipo ran the point. Afflalo is a trade candidate, and will likely battle some inconsistency with Oladipo on his heels, but should also be a good source of 3-pointers this season.

Mon Oct 14 201319:13Arron Afflalo will sit out on Monday night
Arron Afflalo will not play against the Mavericks on Monday.
It's just rest and he's ready for the season. Afflalo was involved in some trade rumors over the summer, but he will start the season with the team. His value has taken a hit with Victor Oladipo impressing the coaching staff this summer.

Sat Oct 12 201301:26Afflalo scores 14 points in loss to Cavs
Arron Afflalo scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds and two assists in the Magic's 110-105 preseason loss to the Cavs on Friday.
Afflalo's upside is capped by some of the talent around him, but he profiles as a safe and solid late-round value. It looks like the hamstring issue is in the rear-view mirror for now.
