Thu Oct 21 201011:32D'Antoni rips into AntRand again
Mike D'Antoni was critical of Anthony Randolph following Wednesday's loss to the Sixers.
"I didn't think he came out with any energy," D'Antoni said. "He's not that physically strong. I saw a weakness out there." Meanwhile, D'Antoni raved about swingman Landry Fields and said the second-rounder will be part of his rotation. Despite a brutal preseason, Randolph's upside is too high to ignore. He just needs to get back in D'Antoni's good graces.

Thu Oct 21 201000:04Randolph scores 15 in start vs. Sixers
Anthony Randolph started with Amare Stoudemire (rest) and Wilson Chandler (calf) out on Wednesday, and finished with 15 points on 3-of-9 shooting (9-of-12 from the foul line) with three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks in 26 minutes of action.
It's just another enigmatic line from Ant-Rand, showing off his defensive prowess on one hand, while three rebounds is ridiculous for a guy with his size and athleticism. He's going in about Round 7 in drafts right now, which is hard to argue with given his risk-reward situation.
Wed Oct 20 201011:03Nuggets like Randolph more than Favors?
The Nuggets have had internal discussions comparing the value of Derrick Favors to Anthony Randolph, according to Newsday.
Now we're getting somewhere with these Carmelo Anthony talks. Although the Nuggets were initially against Randolph as a major piece of the trade, we feel he has just as much upside as Favors -- if not more. Randolph would be set for major minutes in Denver with Kenyon Martin (knee) sidelined. A trade is not imminent, but it's definitely back on the radar.

Tue Oct 19 201023:22Anthony Randolph still struggling for Knicks
Anthony Randolph came off the bench Tuesday for just 13 points, zer0 rebounds and zero blocks on 4-of-7 shooting.
Oddly enough, he did hit a 3-pointer, but it's clear that he is lost in Mike D'Antoni's offense. We still think he'll eventually get it going, but he should be available pretty late in your draft, so don't reach for him.
Sun Oct 17 201020:57Randolph struggles with shot on Sunday
Anthony Randolph chipped in seven points on 3-of-10 shooting with six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 25 minutes off the bench on Sunday.
Randolph is an exceptional raw talent who could have a breakthrough season in Mike D'Antoni's offense, but the coach's recent comments regarding Randolph's inconsistent play suggest steady minutes aren't guaranteed. If you drafted Randolph in the middle-to-late rounds, be prepared to ride him through the inevitable troughs early in the season.
Sun Oct 17 201006:47Ant-Rand could draw the start Sunday
Coach Mike D'Antoni is leaning toward starting Anthony Randolph on Sunday against the Wizards, as he continues to search for a starting lineup.
He's being drafted in the middle rounds, and whereas two to three weeks ago he was being overdrafted it's calmed down a bit since his struggles have come to light. He's essentially fantasy dynamite -- a big night Sunday will send him climbing back up the draft boards.
Sun Oct 17 201000:55Ant-Rand still an enigma in New York
Anthony Randolph remained something of an enigma for New York on Saturday, coming off the bench for 25 minutes to finish with seven points on 3-of-8 shooting with five rebounds, three assists, a block, and four turnovers.
Beat writer Alan Hahn quipped, "he can play harder than this, can't he?" He added, however, that he didn't believe that it was effort, but instead being simply confused, and also added that every time he makes a mistake he looks right at the bench as if Nellie's there to scold him. Clearly he has the talent and venue to be a fantasy monster, but it's going to be a process.

Thu Oct 14 201014:52D'Antoni far from giving up on Randolph
Mike D'Antoni had some strong words, especially for fantasy owners, regarding Anthony Randolph recently.
D'Antoni called him a future "a stat magnet," and then gushed. "He should go on the floor and have three blocks, five rebounds, get to the line three times, have two dunks and when he comes out he only played five minutes and you go, 'Whoa, look at that!' Then he goes to seven minutes and then to 10 minutes. He has to have so much energy that he's changing the game." Randolph is due to get off to a slow start in New York, but once everything clicks, he could become the monster we've all be waiting to see.

Thu Oct 14 201010:10Randolph was 10th man into the game
Anthony Randolph was the 10th man into the game on Wednesday night for the Knicks.
It's dangerous to read too much into preseason rotations, but the Knicks' beat writers have been killing Randolph for poor play. Note that he's only 21 years old, so there's still a big learning curve here. Expectations, at least early in the season, need to be tempered.

Thu Oct 14 201001:10Anthony Randolph struggling off bench
Anthony Randolph has yet to figure out the Knicks offense and is buried on the bench, getting just 19 minutes on Wednesday.
He hit 2-of-6 shots, 5-of-6 free throws and finished with nine points, six rebounds, a steal and no blocks. He'll get a figured out and could even end up starting at PF, as Amare Stoudemire still looks like the team's best option in the middle. It's also possible that Randolph could win the starting C job, but for now, he's coming off the bench. We're not as bullish on him as we were earlier in the preseason.
Wed Oct 13 201010:45Anthony Randolph to come off bench for NYK?
Anthony Randolph is likely to begin the season coming off the bench, according to the New York Post.
Beat writer Marc Berman points out that Randolph "has not stood out in preseason, struggling with his jump shot." It's a disappointing turn of events, but all hope is not lost. There will be a ton of minutes off the bench available and coach Mike D'Antoni is known for mixing his lineup around at any time. Knock Randolph down a few pegs on your draft board, but he remains an upside sleeper.

Wed Oct 6 201017:20Randolph leads Knicks w/ 14 points
Anthony Randolph led the Knicks with 14 points off the bench in Wednesday's exhibition opener against the T'Wolves, a 106-100 loss.
Randolph shot just 3-for-11, but it's worth noting that he was 1-for-3 on threes and may legitimately have something resembling a green light to shoot from downtown, which would give his already intriguing fantasy value a notable boost. Danilo Gallinaro (seven points, six rebounds), Amare Stoudemire (11 points, two rebounds) and Raymond Felton (four points, four rebounds, four assists) were relatively quiet, while Wilson Chandler started at shooting guard and scored 12.
Fri Oct 1 201009:22Anthony Randolph to start at center for NY?
Initial reports out of New York speculated that Anthony Randolph might start at small forward for the Knicks this season, but it now sounds like there's a decent chance he will start at center for Mike D'Antoni.
Eddy Curry's out of the picture, Ronny Turiaf, who was penciled in as the initial starter, isn't "excelling," and Russian rookie Timofey Mozgov is very inexperienced. Therefore, Randolph may win the starting job by default, and would likely play alongside Amare Stoudemire, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Raymond Felton. Even if Randolph ends up coming off the bench, he's going to get heavy minutes for the Knicks and should be on the verge of a big fantasy season.

Sat Jul 17 201021:55Ant-Rand could be Knicks' Swiss Army knife
Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni intends to play Anthony Randolph at multiple positions next season.
"He's a multi-position player that has a world of talent, whose athleticism is off the charts," said D'Antoni. "He's only played two years in the league and just turned 21 ... we'll figure out where we fit him in, and figure out what the best position is for him, but he can play a lot of places."

Sat Jul 10 201005:10Randolph should start for Knicks
Anthony Randolph is poised to start at power forward for the Knicks this season.
New York fans are thrilled by the potential of Randolph, but injuries have been a concern. He can also play some center, and the hype machine will be rolling on Randolph again this season, especially since he's expected to flourish in Mike D'Antoni's offense. Having said that, we're a little gun shy to give a full green light on drafting Randolph in the fourth or fifth round, as he's burned his owners over the last couple seasons. That could change by August.
Mon Jun 21 201008:14Anthony Randolph deal to Wolves is dead
A potential trade that would have sent Anthony Randolph to the Timberwolves is now said to be 'dead' by NBA sources.
The Warriors are expected to get a lot of phone calls about the availability of Randolph, but it doesn't sound like he'll end up in Minnesota. It's also unknown what the deal would have entailed, but either Kevin Love or Al Jefferson, and draft picks, were rumored to be on the table.

Fri Jun 18 201010:55Warriors GM quells Ant-Randolph trade talk
Warriors GM Larry Riley dampened speculation that Anthony Randolph will be traded this summer, saying, "I really am not looking to trade him."
"I'm not shopping him," said Riley. "This is the year we'll make a lot of determinations on him, and he'll make a determination on his career. There is huge upside there, and I would hate to walk away from that." Riley will listen to offers (the Wolves have already expressed interest) but no move is imminent.

Sun Jun 6 201004:15Warriors listening to offers for A. Randolph
The Warriors and Timberwolves have reportedly discussed a trade that would send Anthony Randolph to Minnesota for the Wolves' #6 pick and "maybe" Al Jefferson or Kevin Love.
Warriors GM Larry Riley wasn't giving many clues: "My position all along on Randolph is that we aren't trading him unless there is a really good player on the other end ... Every time my phone starts ringing, people start asking about him. What does that tell you? I'm not rushing to make any rash decisions. But it's my job to listen."

Thu Jun 3 201019:31T-Wolves discuss trade for Anthony Randolph
No trade is imminent, but the Timberwolves and Warriors have discussed a deal that would send forward Anthony Randolph to Minnesota.
The Warriors reportedly have concerns about Randolph's maturity, and Randolph's agent said he "wouldn't be opposed" to leaving Golden State. He could come a dear price, though beyond Minny's #4 pick it's unclear what the Warriors want in return.
