Wed Nov 6 201319:38Gerald Wallace not happy about bench role
Gerald Wallace voiced his displeasure about being moved to a bench role on Wednesday.
"I'm trying to figure out what's really going on and go from there," Wallace said. "I don't have a clue. I don't know what's going on. My thing is, when I'm on the court, I compete to win." He went on to say it's "their team" and that's not exactly cliche talk with players usually inclusive in the team aspect. Wallace was traded in the offseason and the Celtics are 0-4 while arguably having the least talent in the NBA. He has been a vocal leader during his time in Boston and this could develop into a bigger story.

Mon Nov 4 201322:01Gerald Wallace leaves game after knee injury
Gerald Wallace left Monday's game with a bruised right knee and did not return, finishing with zero points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 28 minutes.
Wallace did not attempt a field goal and perhaps we shouldn't have been so willing to use him after one good game, especially given his body of work over the last year or so. Sure, he could get a ton of minutes if this injury isn't serious and theoretically put up some decent lines, but betting on it at this stage is another story. With nobody in Boston reporting the injury from media row, we're more inclined to believe this is an ongoing, maintenance type of situation but we'll keep you updated.

Sat Nov 2 201301:38Gerald Wallace has a better night vs. Bucks
Gerald Wallace was involved in the offense during a 105-98 loss to the Bucks on Friday, shooting 5-of-9 from the field for 14 points with six boards, four assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes.
He only took one shot in the opener and tonight's line seems more like the norm for the 31-year-old forward. Wallace is always going to be an injury risk, but he'll be worth using as long as he's active and in the starting lineup.

Wed Oct 30 201321:59Gerald Wallace takes one shot in 40 minutes
Gerald Wallace attempted (and hit) just one shot in 40 minutes on Wednesday, finishing with three points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals in a loss to the Raptors.
Yuck. The good news is the minutes were crazy high, but the bad news is he deferred to every other Celtic on the court tonight. He'll be better than this on most nights, so stick with him as long as he's starting in Boston.

Wed Oct 30 201318:13Gerald Wallace in the starting lineup
Gerald Wallace (foot) will start at small forward on Wednesday against the Raptors.
Coach Brad Stevens did say this was likely last week and he was true to his word. Wallace had some foot issues and missed some practice time last week. He has been a vocal leader for the Celtics and has apparently gained the trust of his new coach. Crash has been capable of putting up a lot of defensive stats in his days, so he's well worth a look in most leagues as long as he's active. Jeff Green is starting at shooting guard and should have plenty of shots.

Mon Oct 28 201314:41Gerald Wallace practicing on Monday
Gerald Wallace is practicing with the Celtics on Monday after being spotted in a walking boot on Thursday.
It sounds like he's a go for the opener and it also sounds like he'll be in the starting lineup for the Celtics.

Thu Oct 24 201313:25Gerald Wallace in a walking boot Thursday
Gerald Wallace (foot)was in a walking boot at Thursday's practice.
He was in sweats during the afternoon practice session and had the apparatus on his left foot. Wallace had a sore left foot in April last season, but it wasn't serious. We'll pass along any new information and he should be considered day-to-day. Also, Crash did start at small forward for the Celtics, which would make him an intriguing pick late in drafts, but this injury does take some optimism about his outlook.

Wed Oct 23 201323:43Gerald Wallace plays well in start
Gerald Wallace started for the Celtics on Wednesday and hit 5-of-7 shots and a 3-pointer for 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and a steal in 37 minutes.
It sounds like the Celtics are thinking about starting Wallace either at small forward or shooting guard (along with Jeff Green) and tonight's performance was pretty impressive. He was a disaster last season, but he's got a chip on his shoulder and could be poised for a bounce back season. Don't be afraid to take a flier on him once the big-named small forwards are off the board in your draft.

Wed Oct 23 201317:54Gerald Wallace moving into starting lineup?
Coach Brad Stevens said he sees Gerald Wallace and Jeff Green starting on the wings for the Celtics this season.
That would mean Jordan Crawford or Avery Bradley would start at the point guard spot while the other will come off the bench. As for Wallace, the move into the starting lineup could help his already rising value for standard leagues. He's worth a look late and seems like a good bet to bounce back from a rough 2012-13 in Brooklyn. Green at shooting guard is also an interesting development. Their rotation will hopefully clear up in Wednesday's game, but we're not holding our breath.

Wed Oct 16 201318:06Gerald Wallace not playing on Wednesday
Gerald Wallace will not play in Wednesday's preseason game.
He played 26 minutes on Tuesday night and won't suit up for the second half of a back-to-back. Wallace puts himself in harm's way quite a bit with his aggressive style of play, so this move makes sense. He should have a bounce-back year in Boston and is at least on the radar as a last-round pick in standard leagues.

Sat Oct 12 201317:54Gerald Wallace will sit out on Saturday
Gerald Wallace will not play in Saturday's preseason game.
There is no report of an injury, so it's likely just some rest for the 31-year-old forward. Wallace has been impressing coach Brad Stevens and seems like a good bet for a bounce-back year.

Fri Oct 11 201323:20Still no signs of Crash in Boston
Gerald Wallace played 27 minutes off the bench in Friday's preseason loss to the Sixers, scoring nine points on 2-of-7 shooting (1-of-4 3PTs, 4-of-6 FTs) with four rebounds and three assists.
Wallace did not record a steal or block and right now we're looking for signs that he can be the versatile player he once was. It's still early but so far he looks more like the Brooklyn version of Crash than any of the prior iterations, but on the bright side he appears to be engaged despite getting cast away to a reclamation project.

Thu Oct 10 201309:00Gerald Wallace nursing bruises
Gerald Wallace sat out the second half of Wednesday's preseason loss to the Knicks, which was the plan at the start of the night.
Wallace started over Jeff Green and then iced his left foot for the second half. "I knew he was not going to play in the second half at the start of the night," coach Brad Stevens said. "He's got nicks and bruises that he's taking care of but he's [otherwise] fine physically." Wallace has played well in both preseason games, while Green is off to a slow start, but we expect to see those trends do a 180 once the real season starts.

Wed Oct 9 201322:53Gerald Wallace scores 10 points in start
Gerald Wallace started over Jeff Green in Wednesday's preseason game and had 10 points, three rebounds and two assists in 16 minutes.
Wallace has looked much better in a Boston uniform than he did in New Jersey last season, but it's early. We still expect Jeff Green to win the starting SF job, but it's clear that Brad Stevens is going to make him earn it.

Mon Oct 7 201322:15Gerald Wallace puts up a nice line in opener
Gerald Wallace scored a team-high 16 points during Boston's 97-89 loss to the Raptors on Monday, adding two boards, four assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes.
He was one of the biggest disappointments last year with the Nets, but he'll get a fresh start with Boston. Those new to fantasy hoops might not remember Wallace being a stud for his multi-category production a few years go, but he resembled his former self a bit tonight. That said, it's obviously going to take more than one preseason game for him to get back in our good graces. He's entered the conversation for standard leagues, though.

Thu Sep 26 201312:40Gerald Wallace due in Boston on Thursday
Gerald Wallace is expected to arrive in Boston on Thursday.
He hasn't even talked to Danny Ainge after last season's disaster in Brooklyn, but it looks like that's about to change. It would be tough for Wallace to play any worse than he did for the Nets last year, but even if he shows modest improvement, he's still not worth more than a late-round flier at this stage of the game.

Wed Sep 25 201322:14Still no sign of Gerald Wallace in Boston
Gerald Wallace didn't attend the press conference that was supposed to introduce him to the Boston media way back in July, and still hasn't been seen in Boston with training camp just a week away.
He was excused from the press conference in order to run his youth hoops camp, but the fact Danny Ainge still hasn't met him is a concern. "I'm right there with you. I'm anxious to meet Gerald," Ainge told the media on Wednesday. "I haven't had much conversation with him. He's really the only one," said Ainge. "He'll be in town, I think, next week." The Celtics are saying this is not a holdout situation, but after Wallace's disastrous season last year, it is a little strange that he's still not in Boston, and it remains to be seen if Wallace will be able to bounce back. Given the fact he hasn't even spoken to Ainge since the trade, we're not holding our breath for Wallace to do big things in Boston.

Sat Jun 29 201311:17Celts may shop Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries
The Celtics could end up exploring the trade market for pending additions Gerald Wallace and Kris Humphries.
Both players will arrive in Boston on July 10, when the Kevin Garnet-Paul Pierce blockbuster becomes official. Humphries has one more year left on his contract, which could make him much easier to move, especially during the season. Wallace, on the other hand, has three years and over $30 million left on his deal and is coming off an injury-prone and underproductive season. It remains to be seen what his trade value will be.

Thu Jun 13 201314:32Kidd sees Gerald Wallace as a point-forward
New Nets head coach Jason Kidd envisions Gerald Wallace as a point-forward next season.
Kidd said he plans on Wallace bringing the ball up the court instead of point guard Deron Williams. We're not sure how Williams will react to that, but it's hard to argue this topic with a Hall of Fame point guard. Wallace had an incredibly disappointing season with the Nets but could flourish in an uptempo offense that puts the ball in his hands more. This also might put Williams in a shooting position more often, which we saw him excel in after the All-Star break.

Sat May 4 201323:02Gerald Wallace solid in season-ending loss
Gerald Wallace scored 19 points on Saturday, his highest total since mid-December, but it wasn't enough to avoid a disappointing Game 7 loss at home to the Bulls.
Wallace, who scored double-digit points just 17 times all season, averaged 12.0 points in the first round. He didn't have a single FT attempt, steal or block tonight, and he grabbed two rebounds in 40 minutes, but at times his energy single-handedly kept the Nets in the game. He made three 3-pointers and handed out five assists in a shrug-worthy conclusion to a lousy season.
