Fri Jan 13 201201:44Jackson continues to get back in the swing
Stephen Jackson hit 9-of-17 shots from the field (including three treys) for 25 points with six rebounds, six assists, six turnovers, and three steals in Thursday's win over the Pistons.
Jackson started off real slow but has officially picked it up. Feel free to throw out some trade offers if you want rid of his field goal shooting, but owners are probably still a bit skeptical after his rough start. Jackson is a must-start player until he cools off.

Wed Jan 11 201201:33Stephen Jackson finally breaks out for Bucks
Stephen Jackson broke out Tuesday with 34 points, eight assists and three 3-pointers on 12-of-17 shooting.
He'd been struggling for most of the season and could have been dropped in your league. With his back feeling better and Mike Dunleavy possibly sidelined for a month with a groin injury, Jackson is a must-own player in fantasy.

Sun Jan 8 201201:51S-Jax poisoning fantasy owners w/ FG%
Stephen Jackson had 18 points, three 3-pointers, four rebounds and two steals in 45 minutes on Saturday, but he shot just 4-of-18 from the field.
Jackson made 7-of-8 FTs and at least contributed in other areas, but as usual his high-volume FG% is poison in category leagues. He's at 33% on the season, and just 23% from downtown, both easily the lowest marks of his career.

Tue Jan 3 201202:22S-Jax starting to look normal in loss to Nugs
Stephen Jackson scored 17 points on 7-of-18 shooting (1-of-5 from downtown) with three rebounds, four assists, and two steals on Monday against the Nuggets.
The Nuggets were playing their third straight game, but owners will take it any way they can get it right now with Jackson. He's not going to become a high-percentage shooter anytime soon, but if he can maintain being a focal point in Scott Skiles' spread the wealth offense he could return nice value.

Wed Dec 28 201101:25Jackson bounces back after disastrous start
Stephen Jackson bounced back from Monday's awful opener, scoring 16 points on 7-of-20 shooting (1-of-6 from downtown) with five rebounds, two assists, and three steals in 35 minutes.
Bouncing back is a relative term after his 17-minute outing on Monday. Jackson fell into the double-digit rounds in 8-cat leagues, and while we have projected him to fall off in Milwaukee, he could end up being a nice value pick based on his ADP.

Fri Dec 23 201107:20Stephen Jackson has bone spurs in his back
Stephen Jackson said that he has bone spurs in his back.
Interestingly enough, Jackson also has backed off his demands for a contract extension. "Right now, I know it's not the time to talk about contracts or anything like that." As for his back, Jackson said that he just has to "play with it," and that his bottom disc is completely gone. Jackson said it's normal wear and tear from playing, but backs can be tricky and it sounds like something owners will have to monitor all season.

Thu Dec 22 201100:47Stephen Jackson back in action for Bucks
Stephen Jackson returned from a bout with back spasms and had seven points and three turnovers on 2-of-7 shooting in 15 minutes.
His back is a big concern, but if he's healthy he should have a good season. Target him in the middle rounds of your drafts.

Wed Dec 21 201116:33Stephen Jackson (back) will play on Wednesday
Stephen Jackson (back) is expected to play in Milwaukee's preseason game on Wednesday.
Jackson's minutes will be limited on Wednesday, but he's "determined" to be in the lineup for the season-opener on Monday. The back issue is something to watch going forward, but barring a setback it sounds like Jackson should be fine for the start of the season.

Tue Dec 20 201115:46Captain Jack returns to practice for MIL
Updating an earlier post, after a visit to a specialist in New York on Monday and receiving an epidural on Tuesday in Milwaukee, Stephen Jackson was cleared to return to practice on Tuesday.
"I'll be ready to play tomorrow, unless somebody tells me no," Jackson said. "I wanted to practice today but I just took the shot this morning." It looks safe to take Captain Jack in your fantasy drafts for now, but keep in mind that he has had issues staying healthy and back problems can certainly be tricky.

Tue Dec 20 201112:00Stephen Jackson gets second opinion on back
Stephen Jackson (back) remains sidelined and is not practicing.
Jackson got a second opinion on his back, and now this is starting to become a concern. We're moving him down slightly in the rankings with the season right around the corner, and there's always a chance Captain Jack misses time with some sort of ailment during the regular season.

Sat Dec 17 201114:03Stephen Jackson (back) getting second opinion
Stephen Jackson was not with the Bucks on Saturday because he's seeking a second opinion on his ailing back.
Jackson's hamstring has given him some problems, he's unhappy without a contract extension, and this back injury is starting to become a concern. Hopefully he'll have put these problems in the rearview by opening night, but we're knocking him down a peg in fantasy drafts for the moment.

Fri Dec 16 201109:50Stephen Jackson unhappy with contract?
When asked about how important a contract extension is, Stephen Jackson responded, "it's mandatory."
Jackson was not happy about failing to secure an extension with the Bobcats, and Charlotte's unwillingness to extend him may have led to his trade to Milwaukee. For fantasy owners, this shouldn't be an issue, but it's just a reminder that having Jackson on your roster is a gamble for various reasons.

Thu Dec 15 201100:35Steve Jax (back) misses Bucks scrimmage
Stephen Jackson missed Wednesday's scrimmage due to his bad back.
He was able to participate in the morning practice session, but couldn't go through the team's scrimmage later. He's having work done on his back and is hoping to get healthy before the start of the season, but given that his hammy is also bothering him, owners need to be cautious with him this season.

Wed Dec 14 201114:49Stephen Jackson (back) practices Wednesday
Stephen Jackson (back spasms) returned to practice on Wednesday.
Jackson is set to visit a doctor, but doesn't sound overly concerned about his back trouble. "I'm trying to find a way to get through this pain and get in shape at the same time," Jackson said. "I'm waiting to see what they say, but I've been through this many times so it ain't nothing new." This back trouble doesn't sound like a major red flag for fantasy owners bold enough to overlook Jackson's erratic shooting (41.1 percent last year, 41.8 percent for his career).

Tue Dec 13 201115:20Stephen Jackson out with back spasms
Stephen Jackson missed Tuesday's practice due to back spasms.
Uh oh. Back spasms are a tricky thing to deal with in the NBA, and this could be nothing or could turn into something that could linger into the regular season. We're not going to bump him down cheat sheets for a missed practice, but this is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Sat Nov 19 201118:27Stephen Jackson drops new rap album
Stephen Jackson said a few weeks ago that he felt the season would start "in December around Christmas."
That was before negotiations froze up, and to start by Christmas there would have to be a new CBA by next weekend, which doesn't seem at all likely. The ultimate date for season cancellation would probably be in early January, though rumor has it the league may not be willing to stage a 50-game season. Jackson's interview, by the way, was mainly a promotion for his new rap album, What's A Lockout?

Sat Aug 13 201110:25Stephen Jackson talking to top French teams
Stephen Jackson said that he is talking with top teams in France, but won't make a decision "until the season is officially not going to start."
"I don't have money problems," said Jackson, who made $8.5 million last season. "I will go to play overseas just to stay in shape, so when we do start, I'm ahead of guys, not behind." The veteran swingman may be asked to join the Bucks on a shortened schedule, so it could help if he's already in top shape.

Wed Jun 29 201120:06Jackson says Bobcats didn't want playoffs
Stephen Jackson said on Wednesday the Bobcats shut him down with a hamstring injury because they didn't want to make the playoffs last season.
"The last 10 games, I could have played," Jackson said. "But they shut me down. The team shut me down. So I kind of assumed they didn't want to make the playoffs." Jackson, now with the Bucks, said their plan is to get younger and win three years from now, which is probably the truth.

Thu Jun 23 201116:24Report: Stephen Jackson shipped to Bucks
The Bobcats, Bucks and Kings have agreed to a three-team trade that sends Stephen Jackson to Milwaukee, sources tell Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Charlotte receives the No. 7 overall pick and Corey Maggette, while the Bucks get Jackson and Shaun Livingston. The Kings get the No. 10 pick plus John Salmons from the Bucks. Jackson will immediately step in as the starting shooting guard in Milwaukee, while Salmons' exit should mean a starting gig for Carlos Delfino. Meanwhile, the Bobcats are expected to use the No. 7 pick on fast-rising Texas PF Tristan Thompson.
