Mon Mar 28 2011 | 17:54 | Stephen Jackson (flu) will start for Bobcats |
Despite a recent illness and lingering hamstring issues, Stephen Jackson will be in the starting lineup for the Bobcats on Monday vs. the Bucks. |
If you need him, play him, and hope that the hamstring holds up, the flu doesn't bother him and that he doesn't pick up any more technicals. Whew! |

Mon Mar 28 2011 | 11:10 | Jackson misses shootaround with illness |
Stephen Jackson was absent from team shootarounds due to an illness but is fully expected to play on Monday. |
The greater concern is his troublesome hamstring. Between illness, hamstring issues, and technicals (15 accumulated so far), he is navigating through a minefield of potential game killers. Cross your fingers, Jackson owners. |

Sat Mar 26 2011 | 22:34 | Stephen Jackson scores 19, picks up 15th tech |
Stephen Jackson started despite his hamstring injury on Saturday as the Bobcats got another unexpected win against the Knicks. |
Jackson hit 7-of-16 shots and four 3-pointers for 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block, while the Bobcats are suddenly very much alive in the playoff hunt. Charlotte was expected to lose to both the Celtics and Knicks, but somehow won both games, leaving them just a game behind the struggling Pacers. And now that they're back in contention, Jackson is going to try to play. He could easily miss more games or be shut down without notice, but it makes sense to pick him up if he was dropped in your league after the initial shutdown rumors started on Wednesday. Jackson also picked up his 15th technical foul tonight, meaning he's one away from a one-game suspension. |

Sat Mar 26 2011 | 18:32 | Stephen Jackson (hamstring) to play on Sat. |
Stephen Jackson will return from his hamstring injury vs. the Knicks on Saturday. |
Jackson's production has tailed off dramatically due to his injury, but he'll be defended by Chauncey Billups tonight and therefore could have a nice game. If you own him, you might as well run him out there and see what happens. |

Thu Mar 24 2011 | 13:54 | Stephen Jackson's hamstring MRI shows no tear |
The MRI on Stephen Jackson's hamstring showed no tear and the Bobcats have officially listed him as day-to-day. |
The results of this exam will allow Jackson to attempt to keep playing. Although coach Paul Silas admitted that shutting S-Jax down is a "distinct possibility," Jackson himself is a warrior that will not sit down himself. For now, consider Captain Jack very questionable for Friday's game in Boston. Once the Bobcats are officially eliminated from the playoffs, Jackson will almost certainly relent and rest. |

Thu Mar 24 2011 | 12:59 | Stephen Jackson heading for MRI |
Stephen Jackson is scheduled to have an MRI on his injured hamstring Thursday. |
The Bobcats have already admitted that they may have to shut down Jackson. If the MRI shows a Grade 2 tear or worse, S-Jax himself may finally relent and agree to rest. The Bobcats are three games behind the Pacers for the eighth seed in the East, but do not hold the tiebreaker. |

Wed Mar 23 2011 | 22:10 | Stephen Jackson shutdown watch continues |
It was reported during Wednesday's broadcast that Stephen Jackson would likely be shutdown for the season if the Bobcats lost to the Pacers, which they did by a score of 111-88. |
However, after the game, Jackson said it was up to the team, not him. "If they shut me down for the rest of the year it's going to be their decision," he said. Whether it's up to the team or Jackson, his hamstring is in bad shape and the Bobcats, although not mathematically eliminated, have given up on making the playoffs. While it's probably best to hold Jackson until we get official word on this, we would be very surprised to see him play again this season. |

Wed Mar 23 2011 | 20:58 | Report: Stephen Jackson could be shut down |
Stephen Jackson, playing Wednesday with a bad hamstring injury, told Pacers' sideline reporter Stacy Paetz that he'll likely shut it down for the season as soon as the Bobcats are eliminated from the playoff race. |
They're down big to the Pacers tonight and will effectively fall four games behind the Indy, given the fact the Pacers have the tie-breaker advantage, with just 10-12 games remaining. While the Bobcats won't mathematically be eliminated with a loss tonight, it does appear that a loss to the Pacers will end their playoff hopes. And when it happens, expect for Jackson to be shut down for the season. Don't drop him yet, but be prepared to lose him for the remainder of the season, while Gerald Henderson would likely benefit most if it happens. |

Wed Mar 23 2011 | 17:42 | Jackson to play despite leaving shootaround |
Stephen Jackson (hamstring) left the team shootaround early but said that he will play in Wednesday's game against the Pacers. |
Jackson said he's good to go but it's still a tricky situation. His hamstring was causing him enough trouble to make him cut the shootaround short. You can roll the dice on the hopes that he'll play and won't be limited or sit him and play it safe. We wouldn't fault you either way. |

Wed Mar 23 2011 | 11:02 | Stephen Jackson suffers setback, now doubtful |
Stephen Jackson tweaked his troublesome hamstring during shootaround and is now doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Pacers. |
It's a devastating blow for the Bobcats, who are trying to sneak into the playoffs as the eighth seed. Owners must now be concerned that Jackson's hamstring won't be right at any point the rest of the way as these constant aggravations are piling up. Look for Dante Cunningham to get the start, but he isn't worth fantasy consideration. |

Tue Mar 22 2011 | 13:33 | Stephen Jackson guarantees he'll be active |
Stephen Jackson (hamstring) guaranteed that he will play in Wednesday's game against the Pacers. |
The risk of in-game injury and overall ineffectiveness is high, but Captain Jack is a gamer. This game means everything to the Bobcats in their hunt for the playoffs and he is going to give it a go. Owners should keep expectations in check. "That injury is a bad injury," said coach Paul Silas. "You get out there and you think you can do it and all of a sudden you tweak it again." |

Tue Mar 22 2011 | 12:41 | Stephen Jackson sits out practice |
Stephen Jackson (hamstring) sat out Tuesday's practice, as expected. |
Jackson is at far less than 100 percent, but we're still tentatively expecting him to gut it out on Wednesday. The Bobcats need S-Jax for a game against the Pacers, the team they are chasing for the No. 8 seed. Look for the final decision on Captain Jack's status to come just before tip tomorrow, but he is vowing to play. |

Mon Mar 21 2011 | 13:57 | Jackson sits out practice with bad hamstring |
Stephen Jackson (hamstring) sat out practice on Monday and says that has been playing at "55 percent". |
He says he's "holding out hope" to play in Wednesday's game but it isn't sounding too promising. Gerald Henderson and Dante Cunningham should see increased play if he's out. Sorry to all you fantasy owners hoping for a positive report for your playoff run. |

Sun Mar 20 2011 | 02:52 | S-Jax misses Sat, expects to play on Wed |
Stephen Jackson missed Saturday's game due to his balky hamstring, but expects to play in the Bobcats' next game on Wednesday. |
Thankfully for them the Pacers are just as bad and the Bobcats are still alive in the playoff hunt, so he is going to do everything that he can to play, including push himself when rest would be smarter. Don't be surprised if he falls apart once the Bobcats are eliminated from contention. |

Sat Mar 19 2011 | 22:15 | S-Jax to get three days rest w/ hammy injury |
Paul Silas discussed Stephen Jackson's hamstring injury prior to Saturday's game, and fortunately for Jackson, the Bobcats' next game is on Wednesday. |
?oHe tweaked it last night, and he should have come out when he did it,?? Paul Silas said. ?oI told him he should not even look to try it tonight. All he can do (by resting it) is get better, and we don?Tt play until Wednesday. So hopefully he can get enough treatment to where it?Ts a lot better than it is now.?? Dante Cunningham started in his place on Saturday, but Gerald Henderson is the real beneficiary. |

Sat Mar 19 2011 | 19:41 | S-Jax's hammy acts up, he'll miss Saturday |
Stephen Jackson aggravated his hamstring injury in Friday's game, and will not play in Saturday's game against the Spurs. |
Dante Cunningham will start in his place, but is only worth a look in deeper formats for a spot-start. The real beneficiary here is Gerald Henderson, who was fairly productive while Jackson was out last. |

Sat Mar 19 2011 | 01:39 | Stephen Jackson struggles again on Friday |
Stephen Jackson hit just 5-of-18 shots for 18 points, four rebounds, four 3-pointers and five turnovers in Friday's loss to the Thunder. |
He was 2-of-14 in his previous game, making him 7-of-32 in his last two games. He appears to be healthy and we wouldn't be surprised to see him break out of the funk against the Spurs on Saturday. |

Thu Mar 17 2011 | 00:38 | Stephen Jackson awful in loss to Rockets |
Stephen Jackson hit just 2-of-14 shots and missed all five of his 3-point attempts for six points, four rebounds and four assists in Wednesday's loss. |
He's dealing with a sore thigh, but we don't think that had much to do with this line. He simply couldn't get it going. |
