Thu Jan 3 201320:03Stephen Jackson hurts left ankle on Thursday
Stephen Jackson appeared to injure his left ankle in the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Knicks.
He landed awkwardly on his jumper in the corner and had a pretty bad limp as he headed to the locker room. Jackson was also walking very gingerly and we'll update his status as soon as it's available. Kawhi Leonard, who has been cold, could see some extra playing time along with Danny Green.

Thu Dec 27 201209:25Stephen Jackson's pinkie not 100 percent
Stephen Jackson's pinkie is still "swollen and still sore," but he will continue to play through it.
"It got hit pretty bad in pregame warmups," but Stack Jack appears committed to taking it in stride. He also admitted that the swelling impacts his shooting. "I never know how the ball is going to come off my fingers when I release it," he said. "It gets hit at least two or three times a game where it's a sharp pain." If S-Jax sits at any point, Kawhi Leonard's stock will continue to rise.

Tue Dec 18 201200:29Jackson (finger) returns against the Thunder
Stephen Jackson (finger) returned to action on Monday after missing 14 games due to a broken right pinkie finger, scoring five points on 2-of-4 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes.
Jackson might end up with some low-end value if for some reason Kawhi Leonard's return in delayed, but that's not a very likely scenario at this point. Just keep an eye on him in deeper formats to see if he can carve out some value now that he is back.

Mon Dec 17 201219:15Update: Jackson available for Monday
Updating a previous item, Stephen Jackson will be available for Monday's game against the Thunder, after a previous report stating the opposite came in earlier in the day.
Beat writers have opined that if Jackson is available that he will get minutes, "if only to muscle up Kevin Durant a bit." Any way you slice it, though, relying on Jackson in any format is going to be a risk tonight.

Mon Dec 17 201210:07Stephen Jackson (finger) will play Monday
Stephen Jackson (finger) will play on Monday against the Thunder.
Jackson indicated on Twitter that he'll be returning for Monday's game, so the Spurs could be getting both S-Jax and Kawhi Leonard (quad) back on the same night. Stack Jack was averaging 7.7 points, 4.3 boards, 1.0 steals and 1.0 treys on 37.1 percent shooting before going down.

Thu Dec 13 201208:13Stephen Jackson hopeful to play very soon
Stephen Jackson (finger) will not play until he can participate in a full scrimmage.
"I feel like I'm ready to play, but Coach wants to hold me out a couple more games," he said. Stack Jack wants to get a couple practices under his belt before he returns, but it sounds like he could return within the next week or so. Keep an eye on him.

Wed Dec 12 201214:36Stephen Jackson rejoins Spurs, but still out
Stephen Jackson (hand) has rejoined the Spurs in Utah, but is unlikely to play for a few more games.
After Wednesday's game against the Jazz, the Spurs visit the Blazers on Thursday before hosting the Celtics on Saturday. It's possible Jackson could return against Boston, but a back-to-back road trip next week against the Thunder and Nuggets seems more likely. Still, he doesn't present enough upside to consider stashing him in standard leagues at this point.

Sun Dec 9 201222:54Stephen Jackson fined $25k for Tweet
The NBA and the Spurs have mutually fined Stephen Jackson $25,000 for a "hostile statement directed at Serge Ibaka in a Twitter message."
Jackson has since deleted the inciting Tweet and issued an apology, so this should be the end of the story...at least until the playoffs.

Sat Dec 8 201209:12Stephen Jackson threatens Serge Ibaka
While watching Serge Ibaka and Metta World Peace tussle on TV, Stephen Jackson took pointed shots at the Thunder C on his Twitter account.
From Jackson's account: "Somebody tell serg Abaka. He aint bout dis life. Next time he run up on me im goin in his mouth. Thatƒ?Ts a promise. He doin 2 much." Jackson proceeded to argue with fans and defend his tweet. Just Stack Jack being Stack Jack. It'll be interesting to see if David Stern has anything to say about this.

Fri Dec 7 201220:12Stephen Jackson could play on road trip
Stephen Jackson (hand) has a chance to travel with San Antonio on the team's upcoming road trip.
The Spurs play in four different time zones this week as they go to Charlotte, Houston, Utah and Portland from December 8 to 13. This doesn't mean that Jackson will play, but he's ahead of Kawhi Leonard as far as target date goes. He doesn't offer enough upside to start stashing in standard leagues just yet.

Sat Dec 1 201220:00Stephen Jackson (hand) out a few more weeks
Stephen Jackson (hand) will still be sidelined for a "couple weeks," according to Gregg Popovich.
Jax was hoping to beat his original two-week timetable, but that now seems like wishful thinking considering the Spurs' conservative stance toward inured players.

Wed Nov 28 201219:14Stephen Jackson looks to beat timetable
Doctors have told Stephen Jackson (hand) he can return in a little over two weeks, but Jackson hopes to beat that timetable.
Jackson has been out since breaking his right pinky finger Dec. 19 against the Clippers. Thankfully for the Spurs, Kawhi Leonard (quad) is expected to return by the weekend. By the time Jackson returns, whatever fantasy value he had in most leagues will probably be negated by Leonard's presence in the lineup.

Mon Nov 19 201221:48Stephen Jackson breaks finger, out 4-6 weeks
Stephen Jackson is out 4-to-6 weeks with non-displaced fracture of right pinky finger.
Jackson was holding down the fort at the small forward spot with Kawhi Leonard (knee) already out of the lineup. Danny Green will likely log most of the minutes at small forward and should be owned in all leagues. Coach Pop may look for guys like Boris Diaw, Gary Neal and Tiago Splitter to pick up some extra minutes. Nando De Colo could emerge from the fray as a placeholder while San Antonio gets healthy. The Spurs may also not have the luxury to limit Manu Ginobili's minutes.

Mon Nov 19 201221:17Stephen Jackson injures right hand on Monday
Stephen Jackson injured his right hand in Monday's game against the Clippers.
Jackson tried to get it get taped up by the training staff and go back out there, but he apparently couldn't play with the injury. It's to his shooting hand and there could be some concern. If Captain Jack misses time, Danny Green would likely pick up a bunch of minutes at small forward and would be well worth owning in most leagues.

Sat Nov 17 201223:53Stephen Jackson posts 9 & 9 in start at SF
Stephen Jackson replaced Kawhi Leonard (quad) in the starting lineup on Saturday and had nine points with nine boards, three assists, two steals and four turnovers.
S-Jax tends to poison fantasy teams with his sub-40 percent shooting, and his starting job will be short-lived with Kawhi due back in 10-14 days. Continue avoiding him in 12-team leagues.

Sat Nov 17 201211:51Stephen Jackson says he's starting at SF
Stephen Jackson said Saturday that he will start at SF with Kawhi Leonard (knee) sidelined.
Jackson was a presumed replacement for the second-year player. Cap'n Jack has some definite value as a streaming option in standard leagues while Leonard remains on the shelf. Danny Green will likely also see some additional time and might be worth keeping an eye on.

Fri Nov 9 201221:00Jackson out against Kings with stomach virus
Stephen Jackson (stomach virus) will not play on Friday against the Kings.
This upgrades the outlooks of Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green against an already porous Kings defense. Get them going. Tony Parker is also a bit ill but he will play.

Fri Nov 2 201200:11Jackson puts in 11 points on Thursday
Stephen Jackson scored 11 points while adding six boards, three assists, one steal and one three in 27 minutes on Thursday.
Cap'n Jack wasn't too shabby tonight and wasn't just sitting at the three-point line tonight. If Manu needs to miss more time, Jackson will hold some value as a streaming option in standard leagues when the Spurs take on Utah.

Sat Oct 27 201202:34Stephen Jackson scores 16 in finale
Stephen Jackson hit 5-of-10 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 16 points, four rebounds and two steals on Friday.
He's coming off the bench this season and benefitted from Manu Ginobili's absence tonight, but is still a potential source of instant offense. We don't love him as a fantasy option off San Antonio's bench, but he's a player worth keeping an eye on once the season starts.
