Thu Oct 4 201214:47Stephen Jackson to come off bench for Spurs
Stephen Jackson will begin the season coming off the bench for the Spurs, according to coach Gregg Popovich.
This is not a surprise, as he was expected to provide instant offense off the bench at both wing positions, although we're guessing he'll spend more time at small forward than shooting guard.

Tue Apr 24 201201:53Jackson posts 12 points, five stls, two blks
Stephen Jackson scored 12 points off the bench in Monday's blowout win over the Blazers, hitting 6-of-10 shots from the field (no threes) with three rebounds, four assists, five steals, and two blocks in 23 minutes off the bench.
These are amazing numbers without a doubt, and it makes perfect sense that the Spurs try to get Jackson going in advance of the playoffs. There are two games on Wednesday and Thursday to mitigate the risks of using Jackson, too, but owners simply need to evaluate their options and if they decide to use Jackson -- do it knowing it's a total crapshoot.

Mon Apr 23 201200:37Stephen Jackson scores 17 pts on Sunday
Stephen Jackson scored 17 points in Sunday's victory (including two 3-pointers), his highest-scoring game since joining the Spurs in March.
"It felt good to knock down some shots and get a rhythm," Jackson said. "The last couple of weeks have been great for me getting-in-shape-wise. My wind is great, it's just about me being more confident and getting my legs up under me." The Spurs are primed and ready for the playoffs.

Thu Apr 12 201223:57S-Jax still not producing for the Spurs
Stephen Jackson scored five points on 2-of-5 shooting (including a three) with one rebound, two assists, one steal, and four turnovers in 24 minutes off the bench on Thursday.
Jackson hasn't gotten on the right side of the ledger for owners, and he needs to show a little something before he should be on radars for the Spurs' upcoming five-game week.

Tue Apr 10 201203:24Jackson goes 2-of-13 against the Jazz
Stephen Jackson started against the Jazz on Monday, scoring five points on 2-of-13 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, two assists, and three steals in 32 minutes.
Jackson has hit just 31.8 percent of his field goals over the past two weeks, and is on the outside looking in at most fantasy leagues right now. Even in moments like these when he has seen minutes, he hasn't been able to truly do anything with them.

Thu Mar 29 201202:12Stephen Jackson quiet in return from rest
Stephen Jackson returned from a night of rest for eight points and three rebounds on 4-of-5 shooting in 28 minutes for the Spurs on Wednesday.
He's still trying to find his role with his new team, and hasn't done anything to suggest he's worth owning yet.

Tue Mar 27 201221:03Jackson, Splitter out for Spurs
Stephen Jackson (rest) and Tiago Splitter (back) will get the night off on Tuesday, but guard Gary Neal is available to play.
Neal's been out with a foot injury, but should see some action tonight, while it looks like Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Tim Duncan should all play tonight.

Sat Mar 24 201210:33Stephen Jackson rips Bucks franchise
Stephen Jackson was blunt in his appraisal of the Bucks, saying that "losing was accepted ... it felt like a college atmosphere ... [and] there was a lot of negative stuff going on there."
Jackson would probably have done better to keep silent about his dissatisfaction, but at least the cantankerous veteran is happy to be back with the Spurs.

Sat Mar 24 201204:16Jackson nears double-double off the bench
Stephen Jackson scored 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including a three) with eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 22 minutes off the bench on Friday.
We're not sold on Jackson's workload on a day-to-day basis, but we're relatively confident that Gregg Popovich isn't going to bury him in the rotation and Jackson has already been productive with his minutes. That adds up to enough value to be owned in most formats, but with expectations fully in check.

Thu Mar 22 201202:27Stephen Jackson scores 16 in Spurs win
Stephen Jackson hit 6-of-9 shots and three 3-pointers for 16 points, three rebounds and two steals in 22 minutes of Wednesday's win over the Wolves.
Jackson was solid tonight, and might have a better chance at playing minutes than some of the other Spurs' vets, as he still has to get to know his teammates. But the Spurs play a brutal schedule starting Friday, when they go five times in six nights, and have six sets of back-to-back situations in April. Kawhi Leonard could start at small forward the rest of the way, but Jackson is a decent add based on tonight's performance. Just beware that Gregg Popovich could give Jackson the occasional night off.

Sat Mar 17 201223:38S-Jax plays 17 minutes off Spurs bench
Stephen Jackson made his 2011-12 Spurs debut on Saturday with five points and one assist in 17 minutes off the bench.
Jackson frequently quotes Tim Duncan, who apparently once referred to Jax as the ideal teammate, and Gregg Popovich has more than enough authority to keep the veteran swingman in line. In other words, it's a good situation for Jackson. His real-world value for San Antonio will exceed his fantasy value, but he's worth a look if you need low-level production and can absorb his FG percentage (35.7 percent this season).

Sat Mar 17 201213:20Stephen Jackson passes physical for Spurs
Stephen Jackson has passed his physical with the Spurs, completing the trade that sent Richard Jefferson to the Warriors.
Jackson will be in uniform vs. the Mavericks on Saturday, but it's unclear whether or not he'll get into the game. The Spurs are playing very well and Gregg Popovich may choose with withhold Jackson until he's acclimated to the team -- either way, fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach to the veteran's new role in San Antonio.

Thu Mar 15 201207:34Larry Riley: Warriors to keep Stephen Jackson
Warriors general manager Larry Riley said that his team will keep newly acquired Stephen Jackson.
There had been some speculation that the Warriors would look to move the veteran swingman in a separate deal, but it appears that he'll remain with Golden State. It would've been a surprise to see him moved due to his ridiculous contract, and the Warriors had no success fielding attractive offers. With Mark Jackson reportedly excited to work with Jackson, we will have to see what type of role he'll garner going forward once he's integrated into the mix.

Wed Mar 14 201216:55Report: Warriors leaning toward keeping S-Jax
The Warriors are "leaning toward keeping" Stephen Jackson, sources tell the San Francisco Chronicle.
It's going to be really hard to pass Jackson and his $10 million 2012-13 contract along before Thursday's deadline. The Warriors could consider a buyout, but they are already short-handed now that they have Andrew Bogut (ankle, out indefinitely) and Stephen Curry (ankle) both on the shelf. It remains to be seen exactly what role Jackson will have, but the Warriors are clearly building for the future now. Klay Thompson, not Jackson, is part of that young core.

Wed Mar 14 201206:58Warriors fielding trade offers for Jackson
The Warriors are already fielding trade offers for Stephen Jackson.
Jackson was acquired by Golden State as part of the massive five-player trade that sent Monta Ellis to Milwaukee, and although the Warriors have no plans to buy him out, the team has already received interest from other clubs about working a trade for the swingman. The team wants to make sure that Mark Jackson wants to work with Jackson, but it's possible the veteran is flipped elsewhere before Thursday's trade deadline.

Tue Mar 13 201221:16Stephen Jackson traded back to Golden State
Stephen Jackson was traded back to the Warriors on Tuesday in part of a deal swapping Monta Ellis for Andrew Bogut.
This is one of the more interesting landing spots for Jackson, as he was an instrumental part of the 'We Believe' Warriors playoff team but became vilified on his way out the door. That said, he'll be welcomed in Oakland with more optimism than in just about any other place that he could have gone. We'll have to get Mark Jackson's take on whether he wants to play Jackson at SG or SF, as Klay Thompson is the apple of ownership's eye. Either way, this could end Dorell Wright's fantasy value if Thompson gets 30 minutes per game.

Mon Mar 12 201223:47Jackson (hamstring) does not play on Monday
Stephen Jackson (hamstring) did not play on Monday against the Nets.
Jackson is among the more talked about trade deadline guys, but he needs to be considered a low-end stash right now, at best. We don't know where he would land, we don't know if he's healthy, and we don't know if he'll be able to dominate the ball as he has done when he has held fantasy value in the past.

Fri Mar 9 201220:32Jackson (hamstring) out on Friday; Mbah in
Stephen Jackson (hamstring) will not play on Friday, while Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (knee) will be active.
Jackson is a total mess right now, but it's worth pointing out that Andrew Bogut just called out Scott Skiles today -- and it's about time the mainstream media picks up on the fact that Skiles just isn't a good coach. Jackson is worth a look as a low-expectation, high-upside stash in hopes he gets traded in the next five days, while Mbah a Moute will steal 15-25 minutes out of the rotation if he plays.
