Thu Mar 8 201215:14Stephen Jackson eyes the Bulls
Stephen Jackson said that he would love to play for the Bulls.
Jackson is currently away from the Bucks while they try to work out a trade before the March 15 deadline. He's a fit in Chicago as a scoring complement to Derrick Rose, but it's unclear if the Bulls want to invite trouble into their locker room. The Jackson rumors will heat up once we get closer to the deadline.

Thu Mar 8 201212:03No timetable for Stephen Jackson's return
Stephen Jackson (hamstring) has no timetable for his return.
The only thing that will salvage Jackson's fantasy value this season is a trade out of Milwaukee. He and Scott Skiles have not seen eye-to-eye all season and there is no reason to think that is going to change at any point in the foreseeable future.

Sun Mar 4 201209:33Stephen Jackson sidelined by sore hamstring
Stephen Jackson still isn't traveling with the Bucks because of soreness in his right hamstring.
Jackson has missed six consecutive games and is basically waiting to see if the Bucks can find a way to trade him. He might be worth stashing through the March 15 deadline, in case it happens -- if he's stuck in Milwaukee, his value will be crushed under Scott Skiles' heel.

Tue Feb 28 201206:59Stephen Jackson still out with bad hamstring
Stephen Jackson (hamstring) did not practice on Monday.
Jackson's availability is a major question mark for Tuesday, as the veteran sat in Milwaukee's games before the All-Star break with the injury as well. The relationship between he and Scott Skiles has gone from bad to worse, and a trade remains the best hope that he can re-establish some sort of fantasy value this season. He hasn't played more than 20 minutes in a game since February 11, and is averaging 10.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals on 35.7 percent shooting.

Wed Feb 22 201215:11Stephen Jackson out with hamstring injury
The hamstring injury that will sideline Stephen Jackson on Wednesday is also the issue that held him out on Monday.
Jackson's absence on Monday was originally reported as a DNP-CD, but Scott Skiles said that Jackson -- who did dress Monday -- was only available "in an absolute emergency." Once healthy, a pre-deadline trade remains the best hope for re-establishing Jackson's lost value, but his contract ($10 million next year) won't make that easy.

Wed Feb 22 201212:26Stephen Jackson suddenly out on Wednesday
Stephen Jackson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.
After picking up a DNP-Coach's decision on Monday, Jackson is now dealing with a mysterious hamstring injury that previously went unreported. Scott Skiles and Jackson are not even close to being on the same page and Milwaukee likely regrets ever dealing for him. We'd have no problem dropping him for a hot free agent right now. Mike Dunleavy played a huge role off the bench against Orlando on Monday with 18 points in 36 minutes and is poised for major playing time once again.

Tue Feb 21 201200:35Stephen Jackson a DNP-CD on Monday
Stephen Jackson was a DNP-CD on Monday against the Magic.
Jackson may have been benched for this game after a week's worth of negative comments, but in reality, this isn't entirely on him. The Bucks never should have acquired him in the first place, and any minutes he gets in advance of the trade deadline should be considered house money. The only way he should be on rosters is as a stash, and dropping him for a hot free agent is a fine play.

Mon Feb 20 201209:11Stephen Jackson wants to play for Nets, Magic
Stephen Jackson said he would like to play for the Nets or the Magic.
Even though Jackson is still getting limited minutes off the bench for the Bucks, he's not afraid to talk about leaving. "I'm at the stage of my career where I want to be in a different situation," he said Sunday. Jackson knows that a trade is going to be difficult as he is owed $10 million next season. We wouldn't expect any movement until much closer to the March 15 trade deadline.

Sat Feb 18 201209:48Stephen Jackson waiting for trade from Bucks
Stephen Jackson recently confirmed that he's waiting to be traded from the Bucks.
When asked whether he had a future in Milwaukee, Jackson responded, "Not at all. It's obvious, you can see that. I'm just waiting until my situation is different." He feels disrespected by Scott Skiles and mentioned that he'd love to play with Dwight Howard in Orlando, but his $10 million salary for 2012-13 isn't exactly appealing trade bait.

Fri Feb 17 201200:39Jackson, Skiles not on speaking terms
Beat writer Gery Woelful described Stephen Jackson's relationship with Scott Skiles on Thursday, among other things reporting that Skiles provides no advance notice about role changes nor does he talk to Jackson after he benches him.
We don't know the story here, and it's too bad the NBA League Pass doesn't have a channel with just their awkward interactions on a loop. The situation doesn't speak highly of either guy, and while the basketball world at large already thinks Jackson is difficult, Skiles doesn't get nearly enough mainstream criticism for running his teams into the ground. We've pegged Jackson as a roster stash, whose value if traded to a better place will be higher than many players found on the wire.

Thu Feb 16 201202:34Jackson plays just 20 minutes on Wednesday
Stephen Jackson played just 20 minutes on Wednesday, scoring two points on free throws with two rebounds, five assists, and one steal.
Bringing Jackson to Milwaukee is easily one of the blunders of the offseason, and owners should consider him a stash in the event he starts getting along or he gets traded. Feel free to drop him for a hot free agent, but keep in mind his upside will be higher than many players found on the wire.

Tue Feb 14 201200:42Jackson scores seven points in just 17 mins
Stephen Jackson played just 17 minutes on Monday, scoring seven points on 3-of-9 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and a steal.
We'll have to look, but sitting on Scott Skiles' bench probably didn't appear in Captain Jack's music video from the summer. Owners are going to have to take the good and the bad with him and hope the productive nights justify a spot on rosters. Perhaps it's easier to view him as a stash with the hopes the trade deadline sets him free, but we can no longer call him a must-own player. Just weigh your choices carefully.

Sat Feb 11 201223:26Stephen Jackson still not producing for MIL
Stephen Jackson played less than 20 minutes off the Bucks' bench on Saturday, scoring four points and handing out five assists.
Jax shot 2-of-8 from the field, predictably. At this point, the real news would be if he played well or at least got more minutes -- it's starting to seem as though only a trade can salvage his value.

Sat Feb 11 201200:31Jackson productive in 23 minutes off bench
Stephen Jackson played just 23 minutes off the bench in the Bucks' overtime win on Friday, but still managed 10 points on 4-of-11 shooting (no threes) with four rebounds and five assists.
It's another productive line for Jackson but it comes under the worst circumstances, as he will be a risky play for the foreseeable future. He still deserves to be owned, however, for both the chance that he is traded and his potential for production in the short-term. Mike Dunleavy added 12 points, six boards, a steal, and a block in 25 minutes off the bench, too.

Wed Feb 8 201223:20Stephen Jackson scores 17 in win over Raps
Stephen Jackson played 33 minutes off the bench and had 17 points, four boards, three assists, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's win over the Raptors.
Jackson had 12 points and played 30 minutes on Tuesday, as it appears that he's back in the good graces of Scott Skiles. However, he'll still have to compete with Carlos Delfino and Mike Dunleavy, who both played well and played more than 30 minutes tonight, going forward. Jackson is worth holding in any league, but the unpredictable Skiles will likely go with the hot hand from night to night, meaning Jackson is going to have some off nights to go along with the good ones.

Wed Feb 8 201200:00Stephen Jackson plays 30 minutes in loss
Stephen Jackson played 30 minutes and had 12 points, two rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers on 4-of-11 shooting in Tuesday's tough loss to Phoenix.
Jackson had the ball in his hands for the final posession but failed to get a shot off, which will not sit well with Scott Skiles. These were Jackson's first meaningful minutes in his last six games, and he might finally be getting back into the mix. However, he'll still have to compete for shots with Brandon Jennings, Mike Dunleavy, Carlos Delfino and Ersan Ilyasova, so we're still not convinced he's going to magically morph back into a must-own player. But if he's on waivers and you have someone to cut, he might be worth stashing after tonight's run.

Tue Feb 7 201214:55Jackson won't say if he's requested a trade
Stephen Jackson wouldn't comment when asked if he's requested a trade.
It's a sure sign that Jackson has indeed asked to be traded somewhere he will actually be in the rotation. The Bucks have slapped him with four DNP-CDs in the last five games, so they are almost certainly shopping him. It's unclear if Jackson will get off the bench in Tuesday's game against the Suns.

Mon Feb 6 201216:04Bucks confirm Jackson's attitude is good
Assistant coach Jim Boylan said the Bucks will discuss Stephen Jackson's role in the rotation.
Jackson practiced Monday and by all accounts has a good attitude right now. He's not injured, but has three DNP-CDs in the last four games. Boylan was running the team Monday with head coach Scott Skiles sick. "That's something that will be discussed," Boylan said about Jackson's role in the rotation. "Nothing lasts forever. Things change, especially in this league."
