Sat Jan 4 201422:58Jarrett Jack hits 1-of-8 shots in start
Jarrett Jack made another start for the Cavs on Saturday with Kyrie Irving sidelined with a sprained knee, but hit just 1-of-8 shots for two points, four rebounds and seven assists.
His shooting is a real problem right now, as he's hit just 6-of-24 over his last two games. Irving remains day-to-day and is questionable for Sunday, but Jack should continue to start in his place as long as Irving is out. And his shot should eventually start falling.

Thu Jan 2 201422:10Jarrett Jack plays well in place of Irving
Jarrett Jack started at point guard in place of Kyrie Irving (knee) and had 14 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and a 3-pointer, but hit just 5-of-16 shots in the overtime win.
His line would have looked a heck of a lot better had his shot been falling, but he at least came through with a solid line. Irving is day-to-day with his knee injury and Jack should be a solid fantasy start any time Irving is out.

Thu Jan 2 201413:31Jarrett Jack to start Thursday if Irving out
Jarrett Jack (neck) will get the start against the Magic Thursday night if Kyrie Irving is unable to play.
Jack has only averaged 8.6 points and 3.6 assists per game over his last five, but could be a very productive fill-in if Irving (knee) is unable to suit up Thursday. Jack's season averages of 10.0 points and 3.6 assists would serve as his floor if he were to inherit starters' minutes Thursday, which would make him an attractive cheap play for daily gamers.

Tue Dec 24 201300:39Jack hits rock bottom in blowout loss
Jarrett Jack hit rock bottom in the Cavs' blowout loss to the Pistons on Monday, going 0-for-6 from the field for zero points, one rebound and one assist in 20 minutes.
Results like this are hard to swallow when Jack has produced just top 150-175 value on the season. Until something happens to shake up the Cavs, the outlook for Jack is not very bright.

Sat Dec 21 201301:00Jarrett Jack plays 38 minutes vs. Milwaukee
Jarrett Jack played 38 minutes against the Bucks during Friday's 114-111 overtime win, scoring 17 points with four boards, five assists and two 3-pointers on 6-of-17 shooting.
He was expected to pick up a lot of minutes with Dion Waiters out of the lineup tonight and didn't disappoint. Jack has made some strides over his last five, averaging 13.0 points, 3.6 boards, 4.0 assists and 1.2 triples in 26.4 minutes. His worth a look while Waiters is out, but he's not a very strong pickup.

Tue Dec 17 201322:07Jarrett Jack struggles with shot in loss
Jarrett Jack hit just 5-of-14 shots for 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in 28 minutes of Tuesday's loss.
The minutes and number of shots are good news for Jack, and he's averaging 11.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.0 3-pointers over his last five games. And despite tonight's poor shooting, he's still at 47 percent during that stretch. It still feels like he's on the verge of putting it all together for the Cavs.

Sat Dec 14 201323:34Jarrett Jack playing well for Cavaliers
Jarrett Jack hit 6-of-11 shots for 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal in Saturday's loss to the Heat.
The Cavs put six players in double figures and there was very little to be learned from a fantasy perspective, but Jack is heating up. He's averaging 11.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.2 3-pointers on 49 percent shooting in 25 minutes over his last five games. He's still not a must-own player, but could be in a week if he keeps playing this well.

Tue Dec 10 201322:13Jarrett Jack heating up for Cavaliers
Jarrett Jack hit 6-of-8 shots for 17 points, and one assist in Tuesday's win over the Knicks.
While Dion Waiters has fallen off a cliff recently, Jack has scored in double figures in three straight games, and is averaging 10 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.6 blocks and 1.6 3-pointers on 45 percent shooting over his last five games. We predicted big things from Jack this season once he got healthy, and he might finally be getting there.

Sat Dec 7 201301:12Jack plays 29 mins with starters struggling
Jarrett Jack scored 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 29 minutes off the bench on Friday.
The starting backcourt of Kyrie Irving and C.J. Miles combined for just 32 minutes, while Jack and Dion Waiters were ridden tonight. Jack has been terrible in fantasy leagues this season, but he should theoretically be able to put up these types of numbers this season when he's on his game. We're not ready to pencil him in for that production just yet, but this is a start.

Sat Nov 30 201302:27Jack held to nine points and not much else
Jarrett Jack scored just nine points with one rebound and two assists in 22 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Kyrie Irving can't be benched because he's the franchise player and Dion Waiters was cooking so Jack was a casualty tonight. It might be the case that he needs Waiters to be held back in order to make the type of impact that fantasy owners need, and with the Cavs looking like garbage the leadership angle that would theoretically get him both burn and touches hasn't materialized. He's playing like a deep league guy right now so feel free to turn him in for a hot free agent in standard formats.

Wed Nov 27 201323:45Jarrett Jack plays 37 minutes in loss
Jarrett Jack returned from his neck injury and played 37 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Heat.
The minutes were fantastic, but the rest of his line left something to be desired. He hit 3-of-6 shots and two 3-pointers for eight points, five rebounds, six assists, a steal, a block and five turnovers. We still contend he'll end up being one of the best Cleveland guards before all is said and done and if he can stay healthy and keep getting this kind of run, it should happen sooner than later.

Tue Nov 26 201316:26Jarrett Jack (neck) ready to go vs. Miami
Jarrett Jack (neck) practiced on Tuesday and will be ready to go vs. the Heat on Wednesday.
Jack hurt himself on Saturday but it doesn't seem serious, and Mike Brown dismissed any concerns about him missing time. He had been on a bit of a roll in the past week, and owners should feel safe using him as they were prior to his scoreless dud this weekend.

Sat Nov 23 201322:44Jarrett Jack suffers strained neck in loss
Jarrett Jack suffered a strained neck in Saturday's loss to the Spurs.
He did not return to the game, but that's not very telling considering the Cavs were down by 30 for most of the night. A strained neck muscle is an unusual injury, so hopefully the team can shed some light on it, but we'll list him as day-to-day for now. He finished with no points and five assists in 15 minutes. If he misses time, Dion Waiters and Matthew Dellavedova would get some extra playing time.

Sat Nov 23 201302:15Jarrett Jack scores 19 points off the bench
Jarrett Jack scored 19 points off the bench on Friday to go with one board, four assists and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Pelicans.
He's been able to string games together over his last three with averages of 15.3 points, 4.7 assists and 1.3 triples. Jack could be the answer to pick up most of the work at shooting guard and is worth a look in standard leagues.

Sat Nov 16 201322:30Jarrett Jack better, but still struggling
Jarrett Jack hit 5-of-13 shots for 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in Saturday's overtime win, but also commmitted five turnovers.
Jack has been struggling for a few games now, scoring two points on Monday and six on Wednesday. He's still working out the rust left over from his knee injury, as well as figuring out his new teammates, but we're guessing he's a much better player a month from now.

Thu Nov 14 201300:54Jarrett Jack struggles again vs. Wolves
Jarrett Jack had his second rough outing in a row in Wednesday's 124-95 loss to the Wolves to with six points, one board, five assists and one turnover in 24 minutes.
He was abused all night and the Wolves did whatever they wanted on offense. Jack had a sterling 20-point performance on Saturday, but then fell off a cliff with a two-point dud on Monday. He still should be able to muster up some value as long as he's around 24 minutes per game, but his upside won't be too high. Dion Waiters was just as terrible with six points, two boards and two assists in 22 minutes.

Mon Nov 11 201309:03Mike Brown happy w/ Cavs' three-guard lineup
Mike Brown was happy with the results of his three-guard lineup on Saturday, which featured Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters and Jarrett Jack.
"I felt it was the right time to experiment," Brown said. "It makes us that much more dynamic [offensively]. They can all create, shoot and pass. It was a neat thing to watch those guys feed off each other. The trust and belief was there." The combo may not live up to Brown's usual defensive standards, but it helps that Waiters and Jack are both barrel-chested, physical guards.

Fri Nov 8 201323:59Jack gets back on track in loss to Sixers
Jarrett Jack scored 13 points on 3-of-10 shooting (including three treys) with four rebounds, three assists and two steals in 25 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Jack also made all four of his freebies to round out a nice bounce-back night. With Mike Brown on the warpath it's possible he leans a bit more on his vet, so give Jack a look if he has been dropped in your 12-14 team format.

Mon Nov 4 201323:43Jack goes cold in 27 minutes off the bench
Jarrett Jack went cold in Monday's squeaker win over the Wolves, hitting just 1-of-7 shots for two points, four rebounds, five assists and one block in 27 minutes off the bench.
Jack could be a guy that hops on and off the standard league waiver wire all year, as some holes in his fantasy game get compounded by the fact he's no longer playing with his (better) former teammates in Oakland. Try not to overreact to one bad night, but don't pass up a hot free agent to do so.
