He's been solid in points and boards, but the deficiencies in every other area are lowing his upside in standard fantasy leagues.

J.J. Hickson hit 6-of-12 shots and just 1-of-4 free throws, but also had 13 points, a season-high 24 rebounds and a steal in Wednesday's win over the Warriors.

Hickson was a beast on the glass tonight and has now racked up three straight double-doubles, and hit double digits in rebounds in four straight. Over his last five, he's averaging 13.6 rebounds, 12.8 boards, 1.9 steals and 0.8 blocks, making him worth starting in all formats.

This may be the most empty 20 and 10 line of this type we've seen in a while, as the Jazz absolutely murdered the Nuggets on the inside and it wouldn't be surprising if Hickson actually lost playing time in the micro-sense. He needs to put up big popcorn numbers like this to offset his deficiencies in most fantasy categories.

Hickson and Kenneth Faried both played well on the same night, which hasn't happened too much recently. In fact, Faried has been hot over his last few games and Faried had scored a total of 13 points over his last two games, before turning it around tonight. But if Faried is ready to finally start playing like the 'Manimal,' it's probably going to have a negative effect on Hickson.

J.J. Hickson played just 22 minutes against the Lakers on Sunday with six points, five boards, one assist and two turnovers.

This is his second sub-par game in a row and neither were due to foul trouble. HIckson turned in an effective December with averages of 11.9 points, 8.8 boards, 0.7 steals and 0.6 steals on 54.0 percent from the field, so fantasy owners might want to give him one more go before pressing the panic panic unless it's to pick up a hot free agent. The Nuggets take on the Celtics on Tuesday.

Hickson has been hot enough lately to be performing at a late-round value in 9-cat leagues over the last week where his 1.0 turnovers per game lift his value, but over a larger two-week time-frame he's been a borderline 14-team guy in both 8- and 9-cat formats. The bottom line is that he needs to put up big scoring and rebounding numbers to offset his deficiencies elsewhere.

He's been a three-category stud over his last three, averaging 16.7 points and 13.0 boards on 60.0 percent shooting. Hickson seems to be the most valuable big man on the Nuggets roster right now and is worth owning in standard leagues.

Hickson had played less than 17 minutes in his previous two games, giving way to Timofey Mozgov, but was back in the center of the action tonight, playing 26 minutes. Mozgov may buzz hassle Hickson on more nights going forward, but Hickson is still the center to own in Denver for now.

It's his lowest minutes total since Nov. 13 and only the second time he's been below 27 minutes in his last nine games. Hickson is a bit of a liability of defense, but he seems comfortable in Brian Shaw's system and is a double-double threat more often than not. He is still worth owning in standard leagues and it's nice that he had two blocks as a consolation prize today.

Hickson has been effective at center with averages of 12.0 points, 9.9 boards and 2.0 blocks in 27.9 minutes during his seven preceding starts. He's worth owning in all leagues. Kenneth Faried added a double-double with 10 points, 10 boards, one steal and one block in 25 minutes.

He gets a pass here after his first six starts at center gave him double-double averages of 13.0 points, 10.7 boards, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 27.7 minutes. Hickson should remain owned in all leagues.

J.J. Hickson had his most productive game as a Nugget on Monday with 18 points, 19 boards, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 33 minutes.

The points and boards were season highs while this was just the second time all year in which he had multiple blocks. Hickson is getting more comfortable at playing center and this was the third consecutive time playing at least 27 minutes. In that span, he's averaged 14.7 points, 12.7 boards and 1.3 blocks. The former Blazer should be owned in all leagues.

Timofey Mozgov has been playing well off the bench, creating a bit of a timeshare, and chipped in nine points and 10 boards in just 17 minutes. As long as Hickson is starting at center for the Nuggets, he's worth owning in all fantasy leagues, at least until JaVale McGee (out indefinitely) returns to action.

J.J. Hickson logged his first double-double of the season on Friday with 12 points and 11 boards in 30 minutes against the Wolves.

The defense was also there with one block and two steals in the win. He had 40 double-doubles last season and he's starting to come around after a slow start. Hickson wasn't a very good shooter at all prior to last season, but he's regressed a little this year at 38.5 percent. He's still worth owning in standard leagues while JaVale McGee is out.

J.J. Hickson started at center again on Wednesday and had six points, eight rebounds, a steal and a block, but Timofey Mozgov came off the bench for a monster line of 23 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

We're going to guess that Hickson will keep the starting job for now, but this Mozgov performance probably means a true timeshare is coming.
