Tue Nov 30 202110:18Jarrett Allen Dominates Against Dallas
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen extended his double-double streak to four games with a dominating performance against Dallas on Monday, scoring a season-high 28 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. He missed just five of 17 shots from the field and completed his line with three assists, one block and two turnovers. The Mavericks have no answers to centers this season and it wasn't surprising to see Allen enjoy one of his best games of the season. The next matchup against Bm Adebayo and the Heat will be much more difficult. Miami has limited opposing centers to only 17.8 points and 14.9 rebounds per 48 minutes this season.

Thu Nov 25 202110:25Jarrett Allen Posts Another Nice Double-Double
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen racked up 25 points and 11 rebounds in Wednesday's loss to the Suns, shooting 9-for-10 from the field and 7-for-9 at the charity stripe. He played a team-high 38 minutes and delivered two assists with three turnovers. Allen has now scored 45 points and grabbed 26 rebounds in two outings since returning from an illness. He's looked superb out there, and another productive night should be coming up for Allen on Saturday against the Magic, who are allowing the ninth-most points to opposing centers this season with 17.8 rebounds per 48 minutes, which is the fourth-most in the league.

Tue Nov 23 202107:57Jarrett Allen Shines Against Former Team
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen returned to the lineup with a banger against Brooklyn on Monday, finishing a 117-112 loss with 20 points and 15 rebounds on 7-for-15 shooting. He went 6-for-9 with his free throws and delivered a couple of assists with two turnovers and one block in 37 minutes. Allen was back after missing three games with a non-COVID related illness. He's set for a huge run, with Evan Mobley (elbow) out, although the two have also played pretty well together this season. Allen has a superb matchup on Saturday against Orlando and Wednesday clash with the Suns is a decent one for him as well, with centers shooting over 51 percent against Phoenix this season, while averaging 16.7 rebounds per 48 minutes.

Sat Nov 20 202116:42Jarrett Allen, Lauri Markkanen Expected To Return On Monday
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen (illness) and forward Lauri Markkanen (conditioning) are expected to return for Monday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. Allen has missed the last three games while dealing with a non-COVID related illness. He has been progressing well and will have a bigger role with Evan Mobley (elbow) sidelined right now. Markkanen has missed the last nine games while following the league's protocols. He has finally worked his conditioning back up and will play on Monday. He should have an increased role as well with Mobley available. Both should be viable fantasy options on the banged up Cavs roster.

Thu Nov 18 202113:59Jarrett Allen Will Sit Out Against Warriors
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Golden State Warriors. This marks the third game in a row that Allen has missed due to a non-COVID related illness. That means, the Cavs are going to be shorthanded with Lauri Markkanen (conditioning) and Evan Mobley (elbow) both ruled out. Dean Wade could have some low-end DFS appeal. Also, Cedi Osman and Kevin Love should be popular options for Thursday's slate.

Tue Nov 16 202113:38Jarrett Allen Ruled Out For Wednesday
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. He missed Monday's game as well and didn't travel with the team while he battles a non-COVID related illness. This is certainly frustrating news especially with Evan Mobley (elbow) out possibly a month. The Cavs are likely going to be forced to rely on Lauri Markkanen and Kevin Love once they get up their conditioning. Both of them could be active and significantly involved on Wednesday.

Mon Nov 15 202117:51Jarrett Allen Doubtful For Monday
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen (illness) is listed as doubtful for Monday's game against the Boston Celtics. It sounds like Allen is in danger of missing this game due to a non-COVID related illness. That means, Ed Davis is likely in line to start, while Evan Mobley could see more action as well. Cedi Osman should see increased playing time with Allen and Lauri Markkanen (rest) likely both sitting out. Both Osman and Mobley appear to be solid DFS options for Monday.

Mon Nov 8 202108:03Jarrett Allen Continues Double-Double Run
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen posted his fourth consecutive double-double with some nice numbers in Sunday's win over the Knicks, going for 18 points on 8-for-15 shooting and 17 rebounds. He added four assists to his line in 34 minutes of action with two steals and three turnovers. Cleveland has won all four games during Allen's double-double streak, and he's averaged 20.5 points and 16.3 rebounds during the run. The 23-year-old has looked great out there and the next matchup should give Allen another chance to shine. The Cavs host Washington on Tuesday night, a team that has allowed opposing centers to shoot close to 60 percent from the field

Tue Nov 2 202108:27Jarrett Allen Gets Back Into Double-Double Column
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen returned to double-double form on Monday, finishing a 113-110 road win over Charlotte with a team-high 24 points and 14 rebounds. He filled it up in other categories as well, adding three assists with one steal and three blocks in 35 minutes. Allen shot 9-for-13 from the field and 6-for-9 at the charity stripe. The 23-year-old had a nice 21-16 game last Monday against Denver but then went on to have a very disappointing week. Hopefully, he won't make it a habit. Allen faces a difficult week with matchups against Portland, Toronto and New York coming up. All three have posted good defensive numbers against opposing centers and haven't given up a lot on the glass to the position.

Tue Oct 26 202109:02Jarrett Allen Posts A Big Double-Double In Monday's Win
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen led the starters with 21 points and picked up a team-high 16 rebounds in Monday's 99-87 win at Denver, shooting a very impressive 10-for-11 from the field and 1-for-3 at the line. He also dished out a pair of assists in 37 minutes and had zero turnovers. Allen has now recorded back-to-back double-doubles and extending the streak to three games shouldn't be too difficult against a mediocre rebounding team in Wednesday's meeting with the Clippers. It could be a good scoring night for him as well, with Tyronn Lue's men allowing centers to shoot 56.6 percent against them.

Thu Oct 21 202113:00Jarrett Allen Perfect From The Field In Season Opener
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen went a perfect 11-for-11 from the field in Wednesday's 132-121 loss against the Grizzlies. The 23-year-old added four rebounds, three steals, three blocks, one assist and one turnover in the contest. Allen signed a five-year, $100 million contract with the Cavaliers in the offseason, and the young center is one of the top players at his position across all fantasy formats for the elite field goal percentage and block totals. Allen has a favorable matchup coming up against the Hornets on Friday night.

Mon Aug 2 202122:55Jarrett Allen Comes To Terms On A New Deal
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen agreed to a $100 million contract on Monday night. The deal will keep him with the team for the next five years, although it won't become official until August 6, when the NBA free agency moratorium is over. Allen began last season in Brooklyn and split time with DeAndre Jordan. However, after he landed in Cleveland as a piece of the James Harden fiasco, he picked things up even more, finishing the year by averaging 13.2 points, 9.9 boards, and 1.4 blocks. The 23-year-old is a candidate to be one of the most efficient big men in the league, and nobody would blame managers for reaching for him in upcoming fantasy drafts.

Fri Jul 30 202117:43Cavaliers finally get acquainted with No. 3 pick Evan Mobley
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) — Evan Mobley didn’t visit Cleveland or hold a private workout for the Cavaliers before the NBA draft. The Southern California center did, however, expect to be selected by them with the No. 3 overall pick. “I’ve done a little homework on Cleveland the last couple of weeks,” Mobley said. “They’ve got a lot of really young, athletic guys — just like I am — so I thought I would fit right in. “Now that I’m here, I’m excited to meet them all. We’re going to have a great dynamic duo with all my teammates.” Mobley made his initial trip to Northeast Ohio on Friday, a day after being chosen by the Cavaliers. Detroit picked Cade Cunningham first and Houston tabbed Jalen Green second, allowing Cleveland coach J.B. Bickerstaff to grab his top-rated player. An athletic 7-footer with a 7-4 wingspan, Mobley earned Pac-12 Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors in his lone college season. He averaged 16.4 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting... [More]
Fri May 28 202116:52Cavs still view Kevin Love as valuable piece in slow rebuild
CLEVELAND (AP) — As the Cavaliers' slow, stuttering rebuild continues around a “core four” of young players, the team still views Kevin Love as an important piece. One worth keeping around. At least, for now. On Friday, general manager Koby Altman spoke to the media for the first time since the Cavs completed a injury-marred season by going 22-50 and failing to compete for a playoff spot during a year in which Love went from being a major contributor to a distraction. The five-time All-Star played in just 25 games because of a severe calf injury. All that will be remembered from his forgettable season is an on-court lapse against Toronto when he lost his composure and smacked the ball away in frustration only to have the Raptors grab it and score. It's a regrettable moment that has stained an otherwise clean resume. Love's mini-tantrum was also a microcosm of a frustrating season for the Cavs, who used 30 different starting lineups and lost 300 total games to injuries. There was also plenty... [More]
Sat Apr 3 202123:45Heat continue home dominance over Cavaliers with 115-101 win
MIAMI (AP) — Duncan Robinson scored 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting on 3-pointers and the Miami Heat continued their home dominance over the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 115-101 victory Saturday night. Bam Adebayo finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds, Trevor Ariza scored 15 points and Jimmy Butler added 15 points and 11 assists as the Heat won their 20th straight against the Cavaliers in Miami. The Heat finished with 35 assists, including 13 in the first quarter. Robinson hit his first four 3-pointers as Miami shot 10 for 21 from long range in the first half and led 67-54 at halftime. “Everybody has pure intentions about it — just to play off each other, share the game and enjoy each other's success,” Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said. “You play to your strengths but you do it with the intention to play together, to try to create something better.” Collin Sexton scored 26 points and Taurean Prince finished with a season high 19 points for the Cavaliers, who lost their fifth straight and have... Thu Apr 1 202118:14Cavs' Love, Dellavedova return from injuries to face 76ers
CLEVELAND (AP) — Cavaliers star center Kevin Love will play in just his fifth game this season after being sidelined by a severe calf strain. Coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Love — and guard Matthew Dellavedova, who hasn't played in more than a year — are available Thursday night as the short-handed Cavs face the Philadelphia 76ers. It's Love's first action since March 14, when he came back after missing 32 games. Dellavedova is making his season debut after being out with a concussion and appendectomy. Bickertstaff said Love and Dellavedova, the only players left from the Cavs' 2016 NBA title team, will be on a minutes restriction as they ease their way back into game shape. Love played 45 total minutes in Cleveland's first two games before missing more than two months with the injury, which he initially sustained during the exhibition opener and was only supposed to keep him out for a month. The injury lingered, and the five-time All-Star struggled to gain enough confidence to play at less... [More]
Mon Mar 29 202101:03Lakers add center Andre Drummond for postseason push
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Andre Drummond is joining the Los Angeles Lakers for the playoff push. The Lakers announced the signing of the two-time All-Star center less than an hour before Sunday night's game against the Orlando Magic. Drummond announced his decision with a post on his Instagram account earlier in the day, writing “Back to work” underneath an illustration of himself in a Lakers uniform. Drummond agreed to a buyout Friday from the Cleveland Cavaliers, who acquired the four-time NBA rebounding champion last year after nearly eight seasons in Detroit. He had to clear waivers before he could join a team of his choosing, and Drummond chose to link up with LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the defending NBA champions. “We’re all thrilled. He’s one of the best centers in the league and someone every defensive coordinator is going to have to account for while trying to slow down LeBron, AD and our guards when we get going," Lakers coach Frank Vogel said after Sunday's 96-93 victory over the...
