Tue Mar 25 201401:51Jefferson hits three treys for 12 points
Richard Jefferson hit three 3-point shots and finished with 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting, two rebounds and a steal in Monday's loss to the Pistons.
Jefferson hit five threes on Saturday and it makes sense that he continues to hit from deep while Alec Burks is out. Give him a look if you need help in that category.

Sun Mar 23 201400:20Richard Jefferson scores 21 points vs. ORL
Richard Jefferson scored 21 points vs. the Magic on Saturday with three boards, two assists, two steals and five 3-pointers in 39 minutes.
It's his second-highest scoring output all year and he picked up some minutes from Alec Burks (ankle) not playing. Jefferson has gone on runs before and he might be worth a look for owners looking for a boost on Monday vs. the Pistons. Burks was in a walking boot for tonight's game.

Sun Mar 2 201420:52Richard Jefferson posts two points in 20 mins
The Pacers' defense, combined with foul trouble, limited Jazz veteran Richard Jefferson to just two points in 20 minutes on Sunday.
He committed five fouls and turned the ball over three times, without any assists, steals or blocks. He's provided a steady trickle of points, 3s, rebounds and occasional steals this season, enough for borderline value in 14-team leagues, but nights like this make it hard to justify owning him over another flavor-of-the-week free agent.

Thu Feb 20 201401:37Richard Jefferson gets 28 minutes
Richard Jefferson played 28 minutes for eight points, two boards, one assist and two 3-pointers against the Nets on Wednesday.
He had a stomach bug and could not finish practice on Tuesday. Jefferson is one of the worst starting small forwards in the NBA based on his defensive stats and aging frame, so he can be left on the wire in most leagues.

Wed Feb 19 201420:08Richard Jefferson will start for Jazz
Richard Jefferson (illness) will start against the Nets on Wednesday night.
He missed some of Tuesday's practice due to a stomach virus and should be good to go tonight. Jefferson has been horrible on defense, but he's had a few bright spots throughout the season.

Tue Feb 18 201412:05Richard Jefferson (stomach) questionable Wed.
Richard Jefferson left Tuesday's practice with a stomach virus, leaving him questionable to play on Wednesday.
Utah's 13-year veteran is averaging 10.0 points while shooting 41.9 percent from downtown this season, a significant improvement from his lost 2012-13 season with the Warriors. Even so, his value is restricted to the deepest leagues.

Thu Feb 13 201402:20Richard Jefferson bounces back in win
Richard Jefferson had 12 points and three steals on 6-of-10 shooting Wednesday.
RJ disappeared with two points on 0-of-4 shooting on Tuesday, but was back in the flow tonight. He's not a guy you'll want to target in fantasy, but if you're in a real deep league, he's scored 10 or more points in three of his last four games.

Sun Feb 2 201401:53Richard Jefferson explodes for 19 points
Richard Jefferson exploded for 19 points to go along with four rebounds, a steal, a block and four 3-pointers on 6-of-10 shooting in Saturday's loss to the Clippers.
Dreams do come true, although we doubt Jefferson was in many lineups tonight, if any. He came into this one scoring seven or fewer points in five straight games, but had hit double digits in scoring in the six games before that. Maybe he's about to get hot again, but he's still Richard Jefferson.

Sat Feb 1 201402:36Jefferson plays 28 minutes on Friday
Richard Jefferson logged 28 minutes in Friday's loss to the Warriors, scoring five points on 2-of-8 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds and that's it.
This line is terrible but with Jeremy Evans getting knocked out of tonight's game after a tough fall, Derrick Favors dealing with a hip issue and Marvin Williams (Achilles) looking like he's breaking down -- it's possible owners could squeeze some value out of RJ. He's worth a look as a desperation, day-to-day spot play.

Fri Jan 31 201422:10R-Jeff will get the start on Friday
Richard Jefferson (illness) will get the start against the Warriors on Friday.
His illness won't keep him out of the lineup and he'll make his 46th start of the year. Jefferson is arguably the worst starting small forward in the NBA and is not worth owning in standard leagues.

Fri Jan 31 201415:30Richard Jefferson is a game-time call vs. GSW
Richard Jefferson (illness) is a game-time decision against the Warriors on Friday.
It's a little hard to believe the Jazz are still starting him. Jefferson ranks dead last in defensive efficiency among small forwards with more than 10 starts and he's not quick enough to get his own shot on the other end. The Jazz have been somewhat successful with the lineup of Trey Burke, Alec Burks, Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter, but fantasy owners shouldn't be expecting that lineup to be a starting unit soon.

Thu Jan 30 201412:20Richard Jefferson suffering from stomach bug
Richard Jefferson will miss Thursday's practice with a stomach bug.
The Jazz took some creative liberties and called Jefferson's absence "gastric distress", so we'll list him as questionable for Friday's game against the Warriors. The 33-year-old had been playing well with Gordon Hayward sidelined, but his value has taken a bit of a nosedive now that Hayward is healthy. While Jefferson can still provide some value with his minutes hovering around 20 per game as of late, that value is limited to deeper leagues barring another injury to Hayward.

Thu Jan 16 201401:46Richard Jefferson stays hot vs. former team
Richard Jefferson hit 5-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals in Wednesday's loss to the Spurs, his former team.
RJ is playing well with Gordon Hayward sidelined, averaging 15.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.6 3-pointers over his last five games. He'll take a hit once Hayward is back, but will continue to start at small forward until further notice, making him worth a look in deep leagues. But this is definitely a good time to think about selling high on RJ if you own him. Just don't expect much in return.

Tue Jan 14 201402:21Jefferson hits three treys, scores 16 points
Richard Jefferson hit three 3-pointers and scored 16 points in Monday's win, and also chipped in with three rebounds, two assists and a steal in 34 minutes.
Jefferson hit 5-of-9 shots overall (3-of-4 FTs) and has been a solid plug-in for owners with Gordon Hayward (day-to-day) out.

Sat Jan 11 201402:20Jefferson scores 18 points with four assists
Richard Jefferson scored 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting with three treys, one rebound and four assists in Friday's loss.
Jefferson's scoring was up with Gordon Hayward out and Hayward will be a game-time decision on Monday, so the added touches could be short-lived. Jefferson has been worth a look in deeper leagues recently, and nothing changes with tonight's result.

Sat Jan 4 201402:41Jefferson scores 16 points with three treys
Richard Jefferson scored 16 points on 4-of-11 shooting with three 3-pointers, five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 34 minutes on Friday against the Lakers.
Jefferson has been a borderline play in 12-14 team leagues over the past two weeks but even with trade rumors that may make Utah more apt to give him touches it's hard to get behind a pickup in standard leagues here.

Fri Jan 3 201420:36Jazz considering a Jefferson-Bynum deal
The Jazz are reportedly engaged in trade talks with the Cavs for a deal involving Andrew Bynum and Richard Jefferson.
Jefferson has been logging 27.0 minutes per game with the Jazz this season, but it wouldn't be a surprise for the Jazz to trade him. The Cavs have been struggling to find a small forward, so the move would at least help them in the short term. There's still little reason to make a move in fantasy leagues based on this info.

Fri Dec 27 201312:59Richard Jefferson available to play Friday
Richard Jefferson went through Friday's shootaround and is available to play against the Lakers.
We're guessing that means he's back in the starting five tonight, which is probably bad news for Alec Burks and company. He was listed as a game-time decision, but it sounds like he's feeling well enough to play tonight.
