Thu Dec 26 201314:30Richard Jefferson (back) game-time vs. Lakers
Richard Jefferson will be a game-time decision on Friday due to a sore back.
He scored 18 points in 36 minutes during Monday's game, and if he sits out vs. the Lakers there should be extra playing time available for Alec Burks, Jeremy Evans and Brandon Rush.

Tue Dec 24 201302:07Richard Jefferson scores 18 points vs. MEM
Richard Jefferson scored 18 points in 36 minutes against the Grizzlies on Monday, adding six boards and three 3-pointers on 6-of-12 shooting.
He scored 13 points with two 3-pointers on Saturday and is back in the mix as a pickup in deeper leagues. Jefferson's season averages are just 9.7 points, 2.8 boards, 1.6 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.3 triples, so owners in most leagues might want to shoot for a higher upside.

Tue Dec 17 201300:19Jefferson plays just 12 minutes on Monday
Richard Jefferson was limited to just 12 minutes against the Heat on Monday, scoring three points on 1-of-5 shooting with one steal on the night.
Jefferson is one of the league's most deficient covers on LeBron James or Dwyane Wade so the outing isn't exactly surprising. Owners that added RJ for his four-game week may want to lend credibility to that line of thought and see how he responds, but they shouldn't do it at the expense of even a low-end free agent.

Thu Dec 12 201301:11Richard Jefferson scores 20 in win over Kings
Richard Jefferson got hot and hit 7-of-9 shots for 20 points, three assists, a steal and three 3-pointers in 21 minutes of Wednesday's blowout win over the Kings.
If you catch RJ on the right night, like tonight, he can help you win a daily league, but is far too inconsistent to be relied upon in most leagues. He has scored 13, 13 and 20 points in his last three games, but is due to fall off a cliff now that Derrick Favors and Marvin Williams are back for the Jazz. Prior to his three-game mini explosion he scored a total of 10 points in his previous three games.

Sun Dec 1 201300:09Richard Jefferson scores 15 in Jazz win
Richard Jefferson had 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and a 3-pointer on 6-of-11 shooting in Saturday's win.
RJ has been hit or miss, but is still starting for Utah and averaging 10 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 3-pointers on 50 percent shooting over his last five games. And if you catch him on the right night, he can be a difference maker in fantasy. Just expect plenty of inconsistency if you choose to roll the dice on him.

Sat Nov 30 201304:46Jefferson plays 23 minutes in loss
Richard Jefferson scored six points on 2-of-5 shooting (no threes) with two rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes on Friday against the Suns.
Jefferson had been a nice stopgap solution for owners but now that the Jazz are getting healthy he might be too inconsistent for 12-14 team leagues. If you're eyeballing a hot pickup go ahead and make the move.

Tue Nov 26 201302:26Jefferson scores 15 points on Monday
Richard Jefferson scored 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and one block on Monday.
Jefferson logged 38 minutes and with Enes Kanter out tonight it guaranteed that both he and Marvin Williams would log heavy minutes. Jefferson has been a solid late-round value over the past two weeks but that could change when Kanter gets back.

Sat Nov 23 201303:18Jefferson scores just seven points
Richard Jefferson scored just seven points on 3-of-8 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes on Friday against the Mavs.
Jefferson had worked his way into the standard league discussion but it's possible the return of Marvin Williams will eventually make him too inconsistent for fantasy use. He's much better suited for deeper formats.

Thu Nov 21 201301:31Richard Jefferson plays 41 minutes
Richard Jefferson played 41 minutes against the Pelicans on Wednesday during a 105-98 loss, scoring 13 points with five boards, three assists and three 3-pointers.
He's playing 36.4 minutes per game over his last five outings, averaging 13.2 points, 2.8 boards, 3.0 assists and 2.4 triples. That's enough to put him in the conversation as a pickup in standard leagues. Although, Jefferson's upside won't be too high and Marvin Williams (nose) won't be out long.

Sat Nov 16 201303:57Jefferson scores 14 points with three treys
Richard Jefferson backed up a 22-point outing with 14 points and three treys on Friday, adding three boards and two steals in a whopping 43 minutes.
Jefferson is the type of player to get hot for stretches and then cool off, so owners should still approach him with caution, but outside of Marvin Williams (two points, 22 minutes) there is nobody challenging him at small forward right now and he could be a sneaky pickup.

Thu Nov 14 201302:07Richard Jefferson catches fire vs. Pelicans
Richard Jefferson shot 7-of-11 from the field for 22 points in Utah's first win of the season to go with three boards, four assists and three 3-pointers.
He scored just 20 points combined in his previous three games and this explosion came out of nowhere. Jefferson hit some clutch shots tonight and was a big part of the win, so he might be getting more than his 25.3 minutes per game. It's tough to pick him up in most leagues until he can start stringing games together.

Thu Nov 7 201300:34Richard Jefferson scores 13 points in start
Richard Jefferson had a season-high 32 minutes against the Celtics on Wednesday, scoring 13 points with two rebounds, three assists and five steals.
He came into the game shooting just 33.3 percent from the field, but wasn't much better at 5-of-12 tonight. Jefferson seems safe as the starter, but he'll have a lower upside with the team not really drawing anything up for him.

Tue Nov 5 201322:43Richard Jefferson awful against former team
Richard Jefferson hit just 1-of-7 shots for two points, three rebounds and two assists in Tuesday's blowout loss to the Nets.
He surely wanted to have a better showing against his former team, but couldn't get it going tonight. Hopefully you didn't have him in any lineups tonight, although we were expecting him to play better than this against the Nets.

Sun Nov 3 201301:21Richard Jefferson scores 18 in another start
Richard Jefferson turned back the clock and hit 5-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 18 points and five rebounds in 27 minutes on Saturday.
He's starting for the Jazz and while he won't do this every night, is worth a deep-league look if you need a small forward.

Wed Oct 23 201301:07Richard Jefferson scores 10 in loss
Richard Jefferson started at small forward again on Tuesday and hit 4-of-5 shots and a 3-pointer for 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 22 minutes.
RJ looks like the starting small forward by default in Utah, meaning you can give him a very late look in deeper leagues. But given his age and ability, we doubt he'll still be starting by Christmas.

Sat Oct 12 201323:23Richard Jefferson returns, scores 13 points
Richard Jefferson returned to action on Saturday with 13 points, two 3-pointers and eight rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench.
The veteran got a night off on Friday but apparently it wasn't due to injury. He's been a fantasy pariah since leaving Milwaukee in 2009, but Utah's depth chart is thin enough that we'll keep an eye on him once the regular season gets underway.

Fri Oct 11 201314:17Richard Jefferson out for Friday night
Richard Jefferson will not play against the Blazers on Friday night.
There is no word of an injury and they team may just be giving him a night off. Jefferson did get the start at small forward on Tuesday, but he still doesn't project to have the ball in his hands enough to be a factor in fantasy leagues.

Richard Jefferson has exercised his contract option to remain with the Warriors next season.
To the surprise of nobody, Jefferson will not leave $11 million on the table. "Richard has exercised his option to include the 2013-14 season in his current contract," his agent said. Jefferson will be an unrestricted free agent after next season and averaged 3.1 points to go along with 1.5 rebounds this season.

Fri Dec 14 201222:40Jefferson (calf) returns to action on Friday
Richard Jefferson (calf) returned to action on Friday, scoring two points on 1-of-2 shooting with three rebounds and three assists in 13 minutes.
Jefferson's most unique asset is that the Warriors were willing to add $11 million to their cap next season just so Stephen Jackson wouldn't step foot in the facility.
