Fri Dec 7 201220:19Jefferson (calf) out on Friday vs. BKY
Richard Jefferson (calf) did not play on Friday against the Nets.
Jefferson said he would play, but like most players he was over-optimistic. His absence does not impact the rotation much, if at all in Golden State, though the $11 million the Warriors inexplicably took on for RJ just to rid themselves of Stephen Jackson will hurt them for another year and a half.

Fri Dec 7 201217:43Richard Jefferson says he's playing Friday
Richard Jefferson (calf) said he'll play Friday night against the Nets.
Jefferson was spotted wearing a brace on his injured calf, which has been ailing him since Nov. 18. Before getting hurt, Jefferson was averaging just 15 minutes and has little impact in most formats.

Tue Dec 4 201202:52Jefferson (calf) does not play on Monday
Richard Jefferson (calf) did not play on Monday and we are ruling him out indefinitely until we receive an injury report.
Jefferson's absence isn't going to impact fantasy leagues too much, though the $11 million the Warriors will pay him next season for the right to trade Stephen Jackson last season will certainly impact his real life owners.

Thu Nov 29 201222:14Richard Jefferson (calf) out Thursday
Richard Jefferson (calf) will not play against the Nuggets on Thursday.
Jefferson has been dealing with this calf injury since November 18 and the Warriors are handling him with kid gloves. Harrison Barnes will continue to pick up most of the minutes while rookie Draymond Green has been a noticeable part of the rotation as well.

Fri Nov 23 201214:34Richard Jefferson (calf) to miss another game
Richard Jefferson (strained calf) will miss a third straight game vs. the Nuggets on Friday.
RJ didn't travel with the Warriors to Denver and it's not clear when he'll return to action. It's conceivable that he could play in Saturday's home game, but it seems more likely that he'd wait until the following Thursday, giving him five extra days of rest.

Wed Nov 21 201221:22Richard Jefferson (calf) out on Wednesday
An MRI revealed that Richard Jefferson has a strained right calf and he will not play on Wednesday.
Jefferson could be out for a handful of games with this injury, but he's listed as day-to-day. He has no fantasy value with Harrison Barnes playing well.

Mon Nov 19 201219:24Jefferson (calf) will not play on Monday
Richard Jefferson (calf) will not play on Monday against the Mavs.
Jefferson's absence will open up a few more minutes for Harrison Barnes and in general, but it shouldn't create a massive change in how Warriors players are deployed by Mark Jackson.

Sun Nov 18 201219:42Richard Jefferson exits w/ strained calf
Richard Jefferson strained his right calf during Sunday's game and he will not return.
Harrison Barnes has been playing well as a starter lately, and RJ's absence would likely thrust Draymond Green into the backup SF role.

Fri Sep 21 201215:47Jefferson could start at SF for Warriors
While Brandon Rush and Harrison Barnes are both possible starters at small forward for the Warriors, Matt Steinmentz writes that it's also possible that Richard Jefferson could win the job.
Barnes may not be ready to start as a rookie, while Rush might be more useful to coach Mark Jackson off the bench. While we're guessing both Rush and Barnes will have more fantasy value than Jefferson, even if he starts, one thing is clear. And that's that no one is certain who will be the opening-night starter at small forward for the Warriors. It's also possible that all three players will start some games there this season, but Rush is still the guy we'd target first in fantasy drafts.

Thu Apr 26 201208:05Richard Jefferson embraces leadership role
Richard Jefferson is embracing his leadership role with the Warriors.
"I look forward to being part of changing the mentality of this organization," Jefferson said. After the Warriors foolishly used the amnesty clause on Charlie Bell in the offseason, Jefferson will stick around for the next couple of years. He's scheduled to make over $21 million from 2012-2014.

Sat Apr 21 201222:48Richard Jefferson starts for short-handed GSW
Richard Jefferson started in place of injured Dorell Wright on Saturday, notching nine points (4-of-12 FGs, zero 3-pointers), six rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 37 minutes.
RJ is on the books for $21.2 million over the next two seasons, which ensures the team will regret trading Stephen Jackson for him. It also means they'll try to wring whatever production they can get out of him, but he projects as little more than a 3-point specialist these days.

Fri Apr 13 201219:28Jefferson (knee) out on Saturday vs. Clips
Richard Jefferson (knee) will not play on Saturday against the Clippers.
Following last night's game against the Mavs, Jefferson experienced swelling in his right knee. After being evaluated by the team's medical staff earlier Friday, he was scheduled to undergo an MRI later in the day. He'll remain in the Bay Area for treatment and one has to wonder how hard the Warriors will push him to return. Dorell Wright and Brandon Rush are going to be worth watching as the team approaches a five-game week.

Thu Apr 12 201202:08Jefferson hits three 3-pointers in loss
Richard Jefferson hit 6-of-10 shots and three 3-pointers on Wednesday, finishing with 15 points in 22 minutes.
He won't shoot it this well every night, and guys like Dorell Wright, Brandon Rush, Klay Thompson and Nate Robinson all look like better five-game options over RJ next week. Wright had 11 points, five boards, two steals and a 3-pointer tonight in another start at small forward.

Mon Apr 2 201200:23Richard Jefferson scores 16 pts w/ four 3s
Richard Jefferson scored 16 points and made all four of his 3-point attempts on Sunday, but the Warriors couldn't get over the hump vs. the Lakers.
RJ has morphed into a league-leader in 3-point shooting, but there are still too many SG/SF types in Golden State. He logged 25 minutes in this game, while Dorell Wright (14 points) and Brandon Rush (four points) each played 20 minutes.

Wed Mar 28 201202:41Richard Jefferson scores six points in loss
Richard Jefferson hit just 2-of-7 shots (both 3-pointers) for six points, four rebounds and one assists in 34 minutes of Tuesday's loss.
RJ has been playing well and got minutes again tonight, but Brandon Rush is hot, and is a much better option that Jefferson, or starter Dorell Wright, right now.

Fri Mar 23 201200:39Jefferson scores 14 points with two threes
Richard Jefferson scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds in 30 minutes off the bench on Thursday.
Jefferson's contract is an albatross and Warriors fans have right to hate the decision to tie up their salary cap for a player that cannot defend and is an open shot-maker, at best. But the Warriors love to triple-down on their decisions, so we see no reason why he can't continue or improve on his four-game averages of 12.5 points, 4.8 boards, 1.8 threes, and 0.8 steals in a Warriors uni.

Tue Mar 20 201202:15Jefferson scores 19 points off the bench
Richard Jefferson scored 19 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 6-of-10 shots (including two threes) with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 29 minutes.
The Warriors are reeling and Jefferson is a veteran that the team just made a pretty big financial commitment toward, so it makes sense that he's finding his offense amidst a group of younger players. Brandon Rush scored nine points with three rebounds, three assists, one block, and one 3-pointer in a ho-hum effort for those starting him in the five-game week, and Dorell Wright hit 3-of-7 shots for eight points, four rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and two 3-pointers. There will likely be a different winner every night, but the trio should each see plenty of run.

Sun Mar 18 201200:04Surprise: Richard Jefferson plays 38 minutes
Richard Jefferson surprisingly played 38 minutes off the bench in his Warriors' debut on Saturday, finishing an overtime loss with nine points, seven rebounds and three assists.
RJ shot just 2-of-14 from the field (1-of-7 from downtown), but the minutes demand attention. It seems Mark Jackson will unleash the underperforming veteran, which makes him a dangerous 3-point threat on a Warriors' squad which is seventh in the league in 3-pointers attempted (20.7 per game). He comes with no guarantees, but seems like a worthwhile pickup if you need points and 3s.
