Watson (foot) will not play in Tuesday's preseason opener against the Timberwolves.
The veteran is dealing with a sore right foot and will be held out, likely as a precaution. This is the first we're hearing of the injury, so it's likely that will hamper him long-term.
Tue May 6 201417:11C.J. Watson scores nine points in Game 1
C.J. Watson managed nine points and two assists in 15 minutes during the Pacers Game 1 loss against the Wizards.
Watson has been dealing with a hip pointer issue since Game 6 of the first round against the Hawks, which may explain his limited minutes. Still, he was one of few to have a decent shooting night in Game 1's blowout loss, and may be in line for more playing time as Indiana looks to even the series on Wednesday.

Wed Apr 30 201414:32C.J. Watson dealing with a hip pointer
C.J. Watson (hip) sat out of practice on Wednesday due to a hip pointer.
He and fellow point guard George Hill both have hip pointers, but both are expected to be fine for Thursday's Game 6. The Pacers have used more two-PG sets in the playoffs and Watson has been effective in his 22.2 minutes per game, headlined by his 53.3 percent from beyond the arc. He'll continue to be the main backcourt scoring piece in the second unit.

Tue Apr 15 201414:38C.J. Watson out Wednesday as a precaution
C.J. Watson, who scored 20 points in Sunday's victory, will be rested as a precaution on Wednesday.
Watson recently returned from a hamstring injury, as well as an elbow injury that has plagued him for years, so it makes sense for Indiana to play it safe. Watson has the fourth-best assist-to-turnover ratio on the Pacers, behind Evan Turner, Donald Sloan and George Hill, so his presence is critical given that Indiana ranks 28th in assists per game.

Sun Apr 13 201416:16C.J. Watson scores 20 points vs. OKC
C.J. Watson scored 20 points vs. the Thunder on Sunday with three boards, one assist, one steal and four 3-pointers.
The Pacers probably would not have won this game without Watson and his clutch shooting. It also may not be a coincidence the Pacers struggled badly while Watson was out with his hamstring and elbow injuries, so maybe he can help his teammates figure out how to play team ball again. Still, his extra opportunity today was due to George Hill getting into foul trouble, so Watson isn't someone to pick up unless Hill gets another game of rest.

Wed Apr 9 201414:25C.J. Watson expected to see limited minutes
C.J. Watson (hamstring) will return on Wednesday vs. the Bucks and will see limited minutes.
He will come off the bench perhaps to keep him in his usual role. Considering Watson will be limited, Donald Sloan has a very good chance to see minutes in the 30s tonight against a vulnerable Bucks defense. With Watson not at 100 percent, it's going to be tough to play him in a spot-start.

Tue Apr 8 201418:19C.J. Watson (elbow) hopes to return Wednesday
C.J. Watson (elbow, hamstring) practiced on Tuesday and hopes to return to action on Wednesday.
Head coach Frank Vogel suggested that he'll rest his key players for some of the Pacers' final four games, so Watson may find himself with solid minutes off the bench if George Hill and/or Lance Stephenson earn a precautionary DNP-CD.

Mon Apr 7 201409:09C.J. Watson (elbow, knee) may play Wednesday
C.J. Watson revealed that his long-term absence has been due mainly to his sore elbow, rather than his strained hamstring.
He has missed 17 of the past 18 games and it's not encouraging that his elbow bothers him, as the injury stems from a dislocation two years ago, but at least he's on the verge of returning. Although his backup role doesn't lend itself to fantasy value, the Pacers will take any production they can get to stop their current slide in the standings.

Thu Apr 3 201416:03C.J. Watson (hamstring) has no return date
C.J. Watson (hamstring) hasn't made much progress since being injured on March 14, and his return date is uncertain.
Watson was hoping to play around April 9 but this casts doubt on that timetable, and the Pacers can only hope to have their primary reserve PG healthy for the postseason.

Sun Mar 30 201414:20C.J. Watson likely a week away from returning
C.J. Watson (hamstring) is likely a week away from returning to the lineup.
He missed eight games with his current hamstring ailment and also had an elbow injury keep him out four games this month, so Watson has seen just eight minutes of action since Mar. 4. The Pacers aren't exactly playing great ball and it is partially due to their second unit not playing well. Watson can be cut in all leagues.

Tue Mar 25 201417:10C.J. Watson (hamstring) out another week
C.J. Watson (strained hamstring) does not expect to play this week.
Watson has missed 10 of the Pacers' past 11 games and he doesn't want the injury to linger into the playoffs, so he'll stay on the shelf until he's closer to 100 percent. George Hill gains the most in his absence, by soaking up extra minutes, while Lance Stephenson and Evan Turner each handle extra backup PG duties.

Mon Mar 17 201417:31C.J. Watson (hamstring) won't play Monday
C.J. Watson (hamstring) will not play on Monday vs. the Sixers.
After missing time with an elbow injury, Watson pulled his hamstring over the weekend. The Pacers will give Evan Turner some extra responsibilities with the second unit, but he's not likely going to be enough of a factor to be counted on in standard leagues.

Sat Mar 15 201412:07C.J. Watson (hamstring) won't play Saturday
C.J. Watson (right hamstring strain) will not play vs. the Pistons on Saturday.
Watson had just returned from an elbow injury before hurting himself on Friday, and the setback comes at a poor time for Indiana since Donald Sloan will also miss Saturday's game for personal reasons. Their absence should allow Evan Turner to handle most of the Pacers' backup PG duties.

Fri Mar 14 201421:06C.J. Watson out with a right hammy strain
C.J. Watson will not return ton Friday's game due to a right hamstring strain.
He returned tonight after missing four games with an elbow injury and the Pacers could be thin behind George Hill because Donald Sloan (personal) is not with the team this weekend. Evan Turner could get more minutes with the second unit. Watson finished with three points, one assist and one 3-pointer tonight.

Thu Mar 13 201413:40C.J. Watson will be a GTD for Friday vs 76ers
C.J. Watson (elbow) will be a game-time decision for Friday's game against the 76ers.
An MRI taken on Monday showed no structural damage in Watson's right elbow that he dislocated two years ago, but coach Frank Vogel listed Watson as a game-time decision for Friday during Thursday's media session. Evan Turner, Lance Stephenson, and Donald Sloan will continue to split backup point guard duties if Watson is unable to suit up Friday, but Watson doesn't have a whole lot of fantasy value beyond deeper leagues even if he is able to play.
