Sat Nov 24 201217:57Holaday reports to spring training very early
Bryan Holaday has already reported to the Tigers spring training complex in Lakeland, where he prepares to work all offseason in anticipation of earning the job as Alex Avila's backup catcher.
After former backup Gerald Laird inked a free agent deal with the Braves, the door opened for the 25-year-old Holaday. While it's commendable on his part to put in the extra work, he hit just .240/.312/.320 with two homers and 25 RBI at Triple-A Toledo in 2012. The Tigers would be best served acquiring additional depth at the position.
