Wed Apr 15 201514:17Susac reportedly healthy and back in lineup Wednesday
Susac, who took a foul tip off of his hand Saturday, is reportedly healthy and back in the lineup Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the Sacramento Bee reports.
Susac had been sidelined a couple of days with a minor hand injury, but he appears to be healthy going forward and should return to his role as the everyday catcher for Triple-A Sacramento.

Susac was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.
Susac had been in contention for the job of backing up starting catcher Buster Posey, but that role will instead go to Hector Sanchez. He'll provide organizational depth in the minors for the time being, but could be called upon if an extra bat is needed off the bench.

Susac (wrist) returned to the field Sunday, going 0-for-1 at the plate and throwing out two Angel baserunners on defense.
On his 25th birthday, Susac returned to the field from the minor wrist injury that had sidelined him for most of spring training. While he didn't have any success with the bat, he managed to gun out two of the Angels' baserunners (one of which was reigning AL MVP, Mike Trout). While Susac was injured, Hector Sanchez had pulled away and become the clear favorite to backup Buster Posey to start the year. This one performance may not change that status, but if Susac continues to play strong defense (which is what manager Bruce Bochy indicated he wanted most from his backup catcher), then this position battle may not be over after all.
Thu Mar 19 201512:06Susac (wrist) could play Sunday at earliest
Susac (wrist) could play Sunday at the earliest, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Susac is recovering well after receiving a cortisone shot earlier in the week, and he said he feels fine to hit and throw. The Giants said he may be able to return to spring training action as soon as Sunday, but he'll be monitored on a day-to-day basis.
Mon Mar 16 201516:52Susac received cortisone shot in right wrist Monday
Susac received a cortisone shot in his right wrist Monday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Susac is dealing with inflammation in his right wrist, but he hopes to be able to swing a bat again Wednesday. If all goes well earlier in the week, the team is hopeful that he can return to game action by Thursday or Friday.
Mon Mar 16 201511:24Susac has inflammation in right wrist
Susac has inflammation in his right wrist, but should be back on the field soon, CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports.
X-rays and and MRI came back clean, and he will just need rest and a cortisone shot before getting back into spring training games. Susac is one of the better catching prospects in all of baseball, but he is obviously blocked by Buster Posey for the time being.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday that Susac is the front-runner to back up Buster Posey in 2015, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reports. "It's going to be up to [Hector Sanchez] to try and get that back," Bochy said.
Concussion issues plagued Sanchez's second half, and the 24-year-old Susac performed admirably in his absence, batting .273/.326/.466 with three homers and 19 RBI in 35 games. It looks like Susac will head into spring training as the No. 2 option behind the dish, but Bochy's comments suggest the door is open for Sanchez to regain the backup job eventually.
Thu Sep 25 201403:10Susac 2-4 with double Wednesday in loss to Dodgers
Susac went 2-for-4 with a double Wednesday in a loss to the Dodgers.
Susac is now 4-for-9 versus Clayton Kershaw and for that reason alone, he should be a valued member of the 2015 club. Overall this season, the rookie catcher is hitting .272 with seven doubles and three long balls in 77 at-bats. Susac has impressed enough that he could start behind the plate next season if Buster Posey moves off catcher permanently or he could become trade bait.

Susac blasted his third home run of the year, while going 2-for-5 at the plate with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Rockies.
Playing behind Buster Posey when he needs a rest behind the plate, Susac has performed admirably in his stead. In 52 at-bats, Susac now owns a respectable .288/.327/.538 slash line.

Susac started at catcher Monday and belted his second career home run in the loss to the Rockies.
Susac was getting his usual weekly start behind the dish - with Buster Posey moving to first - and delivered with a solo shot of off Rockies' starter Tyler Matzek. Without an everyday job, Susac doesn't offer much fantasy value; but with a .429 SLG, he is a player to keep an eye on down the road if Posey goes down with an injury or is moved to first base permanently.

Susac hit his first major league home run Wednesday in a 1-for-5 effort against the Cubs.
Susac got off to a slow start since being called up July 26, but the rookie is five for his last 13 (.385) and seems to be settling in to his role backing up Buster Posey.
Wed Aug 20 201412:50Susac's stay in majors will be extended considerably
With Hector Sanchez (concussion) likely to miss the rest of the season, Susac's stay in the majors will be extended considerably.
Sanchez suffered a second concussion in his rehab from the first one, so Susac will handle the backup duties for Buster Posey from here on out. He is batting .250 with five RBI in 26 plate appearances this season.

Susac went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and a trio of RBI in loss to the Royals on Sunday.
This was Susac's biggest fantasy performance since joining the big club last month. He doesn't play enough to become relevant in standard leagues, but Hector Sanchez (concussion) suffered a setback this week and Susac has become the main backup to Buster Posey. Should Posey go down with an injury or be moved to first base to fill in for Brandon Belt (concussion), then Susac would become an upside play at catcher.
Thu Jul 31 201401:10Susac 1-4 with RBI in first-career start Wednesday
Susac went 1-for-4 with an RBI in his first-career start Wednesday.
The highly-touted catching prospect got his first start behind the dish and delivered his first career RBI. He will serve as the primary backup behind Buster Posey while Hector Sanchez (concussion) is on the DL. In 63 games with Triple-A Fresno this year, Susac put together a slash line of .268/.379/.451 in 253 plate appearances.
