Garcia was optioned to Triple-A Memphis following Thursday's game.

Garcia performed moderately well in his second time up with the Cardinals, going 2-for-8 with two walks and serving mostly as a pinch hitter. He will still be a part of the Cardinals' infield depth going forward and should see a return to the major league squad during September call-ups.
