RHP Yovani Gallardo gave up three runs and five hits over 6 1/3 innings Sunday. Gallardo struck out six and walked three but fell to 5-9 on the season. "Gallardo threw the ball very well and kept us right there in the ballgame -- except for the first guy he faced and the last guy he faced," Mariners manager Scott Servais said.

RHP Yovani Gallardo allowed three runs on six hits, including two home runs, over 4 1/3 innings to receive a no-decision on Wednesday afternoon in a 6-3 victory against Oakland. He struck out three, walked two and threw 94 pitches. "Gallardo struggled command-wise early today," Mariners manager Scott Servais said. "High pitch count."

RHP Yovani Gallardo gave up three runs on three hits and three walks in five-plus innings Thursday at Kansas City. He was removed after walking the first two batters in the sixth. He threw 84 pitches, 48 for strikes. Gallardo is unbeaten is his past seven outings, three of them starts. He has a 2.67 ERA since moving back into the rotation, holding opponents to a .191 average. "They make you work," Gallardo said of the Royals. "They make you make adjustments throughout the game, and they find a way to get a hit here and there to play small, bunt and hit the other way."

RHP Yovani Gallardo allowed only one run in 5 2/3 innings Saturday against the New York Mets to earn his first victory as a starter since June 12. He gave up five hits, walked two and struck out two. He was sent to the bullpen after a June 17 loss in Texas and didn't return to the rotation until last weekend against the New York Yankees. He got a no-decision in that game despite leaving with a lead after five innings. "I felt good against the Yankees, but just had a couple of mistakes," Gallardo said, referring to three solo home runs he allowed. "Today I stayed away from that." Added third baseman Kyle Seager: "Yovani was awesome. That's a good lineup (for the Mets) and he went right through it."

RHP Yovani Gallardo made his first start since June 17 on Sunday after earning his way back into the rotation with a successful stint as a long reliever. Gallardo went five innings, giving up three runs, all on solo homers -- on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts. "Gallardo hung in there," Mariners manager Scott Servais said. "The home run ball got him a little bit but he got through some traffic (on the bases)." Two of the homers were hit by New York SS Didi Gregorius, who was previously 1-for-16 against Gallardo. Brett Gardner also homered for the Yankees, leading off the first inning by taking a 1-0 pitch deep. "Outside of the two mistakes to Gregorius, I'm not going to beat myself over the second pitch of the game," Gallardo said. The veteran ditched his full windup and pitched strictly out of the stretch. "Since I went to the bullpen, that was all I was doing," Gallardo said. "We decided to stick with that and see how it goes."

RHP Yovani Gallardo will return to the rotation and start the series finale Sunday against the Yankees, manager Scott Servais said. Gallardo went 3-7 with a 6.30 ERA in 14 starts before being banished to the bullpen a month ago. In four relief appearances, he went 1-0 with a 0.79 ERA and one save. "He handled his demotion like a true professional. He didn't pout and didn't get down," Servais said. "He simplified things in the bullpen. Sometimes coming out of the bullpen, you just say, 'Here's my stuff. Hit it.'"

RHP Yovani Gallardo pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief Thursday, just two days after going three innings against Kansas City. "I can't say enough good things about him. He's got all his pitches working," Mariners manager Scott Servais said. "It's nice to see results for someone who takes his craft seriously." Since being sent to the bullpen, Gallardo has allowed just one earned run in 10 1/3 innings.

RHP Yovani Gallardo made his first relief appearance since his rookie season of 2007 with Milwaukee. Gallardo started 278 straight games between bullpen assignments. He got his first career save with three scoreless innings of two-hit ball Friday in a 13-3 victory against Houston. "It definitely felt different, but it was good to get back out there," said Gallardo, who hadn't pitched since last Saturday at Texas. "We had a big lead so I just tried to go out there and throw strikes. " Gallardo was 3-7 with a 6.30 ERA before getting sent to the bullpen this week. "I know things haven't gone as expected this year," he said. "I've just got to go out and throw well when called on."

RHP Yovani Gallardo (3-7, 6.30 ERA) was scratched from Thursday's start and sent to the bullpen when the Mariners called up RHP Andrew Moore, one of their top prospects. "I talked with Gallardo. He understands where we're at right now," Seattle manager Scott Servais said. "If you look at his raw stuff, I think it's ticked up some from last year, but he hasn't been able to stay away from the big innings." In his last start, a 7-3 loss Saturday at Texas, Gallardo allowed five earned runs in five innings, with all of the damage occurring in the first.

RHP Yovani Gallardo took his first loss against an American League West team this year. He was 2-0 with a 2.41 ERA in three starts before getting charged with five runs in five innings Saturday. All five of the runs he allowed came in the first. "It's always the one inning," Gallardo said. "I've got to find a way to put guys away after two strikes. It's frustrating. I made some pretty good pitches."

RHP Yovani Gallardo pitched a season-high seven innings against Minnesota. Gallardo, who had lost his previous three starts and had failed to go longer than 3 2/3 innings in two of them, had only one bad inning Wednesday, giving up four runs in the fifth. Three of those came on a three-run blast by the Twins' Miguel Sano. "Whatever happens with one pitch, you can't do anything about it," Gallardo said. "You've just got to keep putting up zeroes."

RHP Yovani Gallardo (2-6, 6.24 ERA) has lost his past three starts, failing to pitch more than 3 2/3 innings in two of them. Gallardo said he's just got to slow things down and keep it simple. "This game is hard as it is to begin with. Then you go up on the mound and start worrying about release points and arm angles," Gallardo said. "It's frustrating for me because I haven't been pitching the way I've been feeling. I need to quit worrying about the other things and just throw."

RHP Yovani Gallardo lasted just three innings against Colorado, giving up five runs on six hits. Gallardo (2-6) walked three and allowed two home runs, including a 450-foot blast by Rockies DH Mark Reynolds. It was the second time in his past three starts Gallardo failed to go at least five innings, which he had done in his first eight starts of the season. He has allowed seven homers in his past five starts, compared to just two in his first six. "He's frustrated and we're frustrated," Mariners manager Scott Servais said. "I saw his fastball was 93-94 (mph) and I thought his curveball was pretty good, but mistakes were made. We needed him to get deep in the game and he didn't have it."

RHP Yovani Gallardo battled through 5 1/3 innings Friday night at Fenway Park, but suffered his second straight loss to fall to 2-5 on the season. He allowed seven hits and three runs, walking six, striking out five and wild pitching home a run. "Yeah I definitely had to battle," he said. "The whole night obviously wasn't consistent. But I made pitches whenever I had to."

RHP Yovani Gallardo is slated to start Friday in Boston. It will be his 10th start of the year and his seventh against Boston. He is 2-2 with a 5.28 ERA in six starts against the Red Sox.

RHP Yovani Gallardo allowed 10 runs (nine earned) in 3 2/3 innings Saturday against the White Sox. It was the second time in his career Gallardo allowed 10 or more runs in a start. The only other time was Aug. 8, 2007, at Colorado.

RHP Yovani Gallardo (1-3, 4.58 ERA), who has pitched five innings or more in each of his seven starts this season, will start the opener or a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics Monday at Safeco Field. He did not factor in the decision Wednesday in the 11-6 win over the Philadelphia Phillies when he allowed three runs in five innings. Gallardo allowed one earned run and struck out seven in 6 1/3 innings to earn the win against Oakland April 23. He is 1-5 with a 4.69 ERA in seven career starts against Oakland.

RHP Yovani Gallardo pitched five innings against Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, departing with the game tied in a contest the Mariners would eventually win 11-6. Gallardo gave up three runs (all earned) on four hits, walking three against one strikeout as his ERA rose to 4.58. "Not as sharp as we've seen him going through stretches, but he hung in there," manager Scott Servais said.

RHP Yovani Gallardo will start Friday against the Rangers. He is coming off a loss in his last start, when he gave up four runs in six innings against Cleveland. He is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA in two career starts against Texas.

RHP Yovani Gallardo had a Jekyll and Hyde game Saturday. After Seattle gave him a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Gallardo gave up four runs and three hits in the bottom of the first. But after that he pitched five scoreless innings. "We put up three and then I give up four. That can't happen," Gallardo said. "I was falling behind hitters, then trying to finish them quick. I was being too fine and started walking guys."
