RHP Yovani Gallardo recorded three firsts in Seattle's 11-1 win over the Oakland Athletics on Sunday. The win was the veteran's first since joining the Mariners in a trade in the offseason. It also was the first of his career against the A's after five losses, and his first ever at the Oakland Coliseum, which became the 27th different major-league venue at which he's recorded a win.

RHP Yovani Gallardo will be looking to add the Oakland Coliseum to his list of stadiums at which he has recorded a win in his career when he starts Sunday's series finale against the A's. Gallardo's 108 career wins have come at 26 ballparks, but he's gone 0-2 with a 3.71 ERA in three starts in Oakland. In fact, the 31-year-old has never beaten the Athletics anywhere, going 0-5 with a 5.29 ERA in six starts. The only other teams he's never beaten are the Angels, Rangers and Rockies.

RHP Yovani Gallardo gave up three runs and eight hits in five-plus innings Friday against the Angels, getting the loss in his first start with his new club. Gallardo, who pitched for Baltimore last season, seemed to be in trouble all night, retiring the side in order only one time. He walked four and struck out two while making 90 pitches. Mariners manager Scott Servais, however, saw some good things out of his right-hander. "I thought his stuff was very good," he said. "His fastball was crisp, had some good live to it. He threw some good breaking balls. He was behind in the count in some innings, but kind of navigated his way through trouble. I was happy with the way he threw the ball, he gave us a chance."

RHP Yovani Gallardo is coming off the worst season of his career, a disastrous campaign that saw the veteran go 6-8 with a 5.42 ERA in Baltimore. The Mariners are rolling the dice that the former Brewers star can regain his form and be a valuable part of the rotation.

RHP Yovani Gallardo allowed one run and two hits in six innings Friday night. He has allowed two earned runs or fewer in three of his last four starts and could have earned a postseason roster spot. "IF we could get in, he'd be a nice piece for us to add that we've been missing," manager Buck Showalter said. "That was encouraging tonight."

RHP Yovani Gallardo will try to help the Orioles nail down a wild-card spot Friday when he faces New York in the opener of a three-game series at Yankee Stadium. He is 1-1 with a 5.65 ERA in three starts in September but is coming off a six-inning no decision in which he allowed six hits and two runs in Baltimore's win over the Diamondbacks on Friday. Gallardo is 0-2 with an 11.88 ERA this season in two starts against the Yankees. He is 1-2 with an 8.16 ERA in three career starts at Yankee Stadium and is 1-3 with a 7.62 ERA in five career starts against the Yankees.

RHP Yovani Gallardo allowed two early runs, but turned in a solid effort while getting a no-decision in Friday night's 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks. He allowed two runs on six hits while walking two and striking out five. "You never want to have a start in that way, giving up a run in each of the first two innings," he said. "For myself, the thing is to just leave it right there, to not allow any more runs and give the guys a chance to swing the bat and it happened."

RHP Yovani Gallardo (5-7, 5.44 ERA) toes the rubber in Friday's series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays. Gallardo is 3-1 with a 3.55 ERA in six career starts against the Rays. He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings of an 11-2 victory at Tampa Bay last Tuesday. Logan Forsythe is batting .368 (7-for-19) with one home run and two RBIs off of Gallardo and Corey Dickerson has hit .455 (5-for-11) with a homer and four RBIs against him.

RHP Yovani Gallardo had just one win in his previous 12 starts before getting major run support in Tuesday's victory. He lasted five innings, holding the Rays to two runs (one earned) on five hits.

RHP Yovani Gallardo continues to struggle when the Orioles need good starting pitching. He gave up two homers and three runs in the first inning as Toronto took the lead on the first pitch and never looked back. Gallardo now has lost four straight decisions and is only 1-4 versus the American League East. "It's never easy for those guys to come from behind, especially in the first inning, giving up three runs in the first inning," Gallardo said. "After that I was able to put up zeroes...and make pitches whenever I had to, get some ground balls, get out of some tough jams."

RHP Yovani Gallardo had his shortest start of his career Friday night when he allowed eight runs (seven earned) and six hits in 1 1/3 innings. Gallardo has a 7.62 ERA in five career starts against the Yankees.

RHP Yovani Gallardo retired three batters in the first inning to start the game Sunday. After the first inning the game was delayed by rain for 30 minutes, but he went seven innings and allowed four runs, three earned. "Good. We really needed it, in a lot of ways," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "And hopefully to make us better the next few days. We needed some guys to stay away from again tonight with the short outings we've had. He was good. How many earned runs did he give up? Three? It was a good outing, especially considering the conditions." The start of the game was delayed by just over four hours due to rain.

RHP Yovani Gallardo has struggled with his control at times this season as he likes to work the corners. He had more problems in Tuesday's game, walking five and striking out two in five innings. He also gave up a three-run homer to RF Mookie Betts. "It's tough," Gallardo said. "It's always tough when you feel good and you make that one mistake that goes out of the ballpark and it's a three-run home run. Just got to figure out a way to avoid that and get away from that."

RHP Yovani Gallardo will attempt to open an important Orioles homestand on a positive note Tuesday night when he faces the Boston Red Sox. The Orioles will play eight straight at home against fellow playoff contenders -- two against Boston, four against Houston and two against Washington. Gallardo, who has just one win since June 29, will be facing the Red Sox for the second time this season, having given up five runs in five innings in a 9-7 Orioles win at Boston on April 11. He's 2-2 with a 5.26 ERA in five career starts against the Red Sox.

RHP Yovani Gallardo (4-4) gave up one run on four hits over six innings in a 1-0 loss to the A's on Wednesday night. He struck out six, walked two and posted his third quality start in his past four outings. "I was able to command all my pitches from the first inning on," he said. Gallardo gave up a run in the third inning on back-to-back, two-out doubles by SS Marcus Semien and 1B Yonder Alonso. "It was a change to Alonso," Gallardo said. "Things are going to happen. I just gave up the one run and gave us an opportunity to come back. The game is hard and you go through stretches like this. Everybody is working hard."

RHP Yovani Gallardo was pushed back to start Friday in Chicago, making way for Wade Miley to make his Baltimore debut Thursday. Gallardo (3-3, 5.70 ERA) has struggled to go deep into a game, completing seven innings once in his 13 starts this season. In his previous outing, Gallardo took the loss against Toronto when he allowed five runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings.

RHP Yovani Gallardo allowed five hits, five walks and five runs in 4? innings on Saturday in the 9-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. It was his shortest outing since Sept. 12, when he went 4? innings against the Oakland A's while pitching for the Texas Rangers.

RHP Yovani Gallardo will make his 13th start of the season Saturday in the middle game of a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. He will be seeking his first since since June 29. In the five starts since then he is 0-1 with 4.88 and the Orioles are 3-2. He allowed five hits, two walks and two runs Monday in six innings against the Colorado Rockies but did not factor in the decision in a 3-2 Baltimore win. He struck out six. In four career starts against Toronto, he is 4-0 with a 1.78 ERA. He also owns a decision over Toronto last year in the American League Division Series when he was with the Texas Rangers. He pitched five innings that game and is 1-0, 3.60, in the playoffs against the Blue Jays.

RHP Yovani Gallardo gave his best effort of the season but still came away with a no-decision Monday against Colorado. He yielded just two runs in 6 2/3 innings, but a wild pitch in the seventh inning helped the Rockies eventually grab a brief 2-1 lead. Gallardo struck out six with just two walks, and he hit one batter and allowed a homer. "I felt good," Gallardo said. "Even in my last start in New York, I felt pretty good, and once again today. I think I was able to get ground balls whenever I needed to and get out of trouble. That's definitely a positive sign."

RHP Yovani Gallardo again battled control issues in Saturday's game. He gave up two runs on six hits in five-plus innings, walking four while striking out two in earning a no-decision in the Orioles' 3-2 victory. Gallardo threw only 49 strikes on 95 pitches and constantly pitched from behind on the count, a big reason he left in the sixth inning. "I felt like I was staying under control pretty much throughout the whole game except for that sixth inning when I got into trouble, got to make the adjustment and (needed to) keep doing the same thing I was doing throughout the whole game."
