Wed May 21 201422:54Davis logs three hits in win over the Orioles
Ike Davis went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in as the Pirates defeated the Orioles on Wednesday.
Davis homered for the first time in nearly a month on Tuesday and Wednesday's three-hit performance marked his seventh multi-hit game in 19 May games. At the very least, Davis has been getting on base with regularity, and he's now slashing .286/.388/.429 as a Pirate.

Tue May 20 201422:11Davis homer provides one of Pirates' two runs
Ike Davis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Orioles.
Ike's seventh-inning homer off of Miguel Gonzalez was one of four hit by a Davis on the night. Unfortunately, Chris had the other three. Ike's shot was his third of the year and first since April 21. Since joining his new club, Davis is slashing .263/.372/.413 which isn't bad by any means, but the Pirates were hoping for more power from their first baseman.

Tue May 6 201422:05Davis goes 2-for-3 as Pirates beat the Giants
Ike Davis went 2-for-3 with a double in Tuesday's win over the Giants.
Giants starter Tim Hudson was dealing, but Davis was able to get the Pirates' only extra-base hit against the right-hander, boosting his average to .208. Though Davis made a good early impression with a grand slam, he entered the night with a .591 OPS in his new uniform and now sports a .208/.321/.333 slash line overall.

Mon Apr 21 201423:23Ike Davis hits grand slam in Pirates' win
Ike Davis went 2-for-4 and hit his second grand slam of the young season Monday in the Pirates' 6-5 win over the Reds.
Davis was the Pirates' No. 6 hitter tonight, but there's the chance he could replace Pedro Alvarez in the cleanup spot if he keeps this up. After all, the Pirates did just that with Justin Morneau after grabbing him from the Twins last season, bumping Alvarez down to sixth in the order. Davis is 5-for-13 for his new team, and he's hitting .270 overall.

Sat Apr 19 201423:50Ike Davis goes 2-for-3 in debut with Pirates
Ike Davis finished 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored Saturday in his Pirates debut.
Davis doubled in his first at-bat, walked in his second at-bat, and singled in his third at-bat. He's expected to start versus right-handers and seems poised to hit near the middle of the Pirates' batting order, making him a worthwhile add in most mixed fantasy leagues. Davis tallied 32 home runs and 90 RBI in 2012 with the Mets.

Sat Apr 19 201415:22Davis hitting sixth in Pirates debut Saturday
Ike Davis is in the lineup and batting sixth for his Pirates debut on Saturday.
Davis, who was acquired from the Mets on Friday, is expected to provide much needed power and run production in the middle of the Pirates lineup. If he's available in any fantasy leagues, he's certainly worth the gamble now that his outlook for everyday at-bats has improved.

Fri Apr 18 201419:22Pirates acquire Ike Davis in trade from Mets
Pirates acquired 1B Ike Davis from the Mets in exchange for RHP Zachary Thornton and a player to be named.
The 27-year-old slugger has fallen off after a breakthrough 2012 campaign where he smashed 32 homers and drove home 90 runs. The change of scenery, and the likelihood that he receives everyday at-bats, should be a tremendous boost to his fantasy value affords him the chance to get his career back on track.

Fri Apr 18 201418:52Pirates set to acquire Ike Davis from Mets
Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Pirates and Mets have come to an agreement on a deal that would send Ike Davis to the Pirates.
No word yet on the terms of the deal or the other players involved. Davis should be in line for regular playing time in Pittsburgh, which would be a nice boost to his fantasy value. Similarly, Lucas Duda no longer has to fight for at-bats at first base with the Mets, and should see his value soar as well.

Wed Apr 9 201423:00Davis set to start at 1B for Mets on Thursday
Ike Davis will start at first base in Thursday's game against the Braves.
First base has been a position of constant change for the Mets in the first few weeks of the season, with manager Terry Collins moving between Davis, Lucas Duda and Josh Satin. Duda seemed to be handed an extended audition last week, but he went 2-for-13 in the days after and is back to being a part-time player. The position is wide open and begging for one of the three to run away with the job.

Fri Apr 4 201415:51Mets see trading Davis as 'likely endgame'
Andy Martino of the New York Daily News reports that the Mets "still see trading Ike Davis as the likely endgame."
However, Martino notes that, as was the case over the offseason, the club is "still looking for something decent" in return. The Mets have decided to give Lucas Duda a long look at first base, so trading Davis is the most logical step at this point. He's making $3.5 million this season and is under team control through 2016. The Pirates, Brewers and Orioles were among the teams interested in Davis over the winter.

Thu Apr 3 201416:53Collins plans to decide on first baseman soon
Mets manager Terry Collins said Thursday that beginning Friday, he plans to pick one first baseman and stick with him for a little while.
It's the right idea, as it will be hard for anyone to distinguish themselves with Ike Davis, Lucas Duda, and Josh Satin all sharing playing time right now. Collins didn't say who he was leaning towards, but we'd give Davis the early edge. Satin should still see at-bats, but the Mets aren't slated to face any left-handed starters for a few days. It's a good time to make a decision.

Mon Mar 31 201410:21Ike Davis starting at first in Mets' opener
Ike Davis is starting at first base for the Mets in Monday's season-opener against the Nationals.
Mets manager Terry Collins told reporters that Josh Satin will start the club's second regular-season game against Nats left-hander Gio Gonzalez. Lucas Duda will likely start the Mets' third regular-season game. It's a position to avoid in all fantasy leagues.

Tue Mar 25 201414:07Davis, Duda will be on Opening Day roster
Mets general manager Sandy Alderson confirmed Tuesday that both Ike Davis and Lucas Duda will make the Opening Day roster.
There was some speculation that the loser of the first base battle would begin the season in the minors, but it appears that the competition will continue into the regular season. The Mets will need a DH for a road interleague series against the Angels in early April, so it makes sense to keep both players around. We'd still give Davis the edge for now. Either way, Josh Satin should still get plenty of at-bats at first base against left-handers.

Sat Mar 22 201416:21Ike Davis hits second spring homer
Ike Davis homered off Marlins closer Steve Cishek and walked in Saturday's win.
It doesn't look like Davis will simply back into the Mets' first base job; he's 4-for-6 with three extra-base hits and two walks the last two days. He just returned Thursday after missing nearly three weeks with a calf strain.

Fri Mar 21 201416:55Ike Davis goes 3-for-3, doubles twice
Ike Davis went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI and a walk in the Mets' 9-1 drubbing of the Twins on Friday.
Davis was the DH today. Lucas Duda started at first and hit his second homer of the spring, but Davis still outshined him by reaching in all four of his plate appearances. As long as Davis's calf holds up the rest of the way, he figures to be the Mets' Opening Day first baseman.

Thu Mar 20 201408:41Ike Davis (calf) back in Grapefruit game Mon.
Ike Davis (calf) is in the Mets' Grapefruit League lineup on Thursday against the Braves.
He'll start at first base in his first Grapefruit League game in nearly three weeks. Davis had been sidelined with a calf strain. The Mets are reportedly shopping him again to other teams, and he has about 10 days to impress visiting scouts in Florida.

Tue Mar 18 201416:19Ike Davis (calf) expected to return Thursday
Ike Davis (calf) is expected to play in a game Thursday.
Davis has been shut down for over two weeks with a calf strain, but he's feeling much better now. The Mets are said to be shopping him to other teams, and he'll have a chance to impress visiting scouts over these final few weeks of Grapefruit League play.

Tue Mar 18 201412:34Mets have resumed shopping Ike Davis
Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports that Mets general manager Sandy Alderson has resumed shopping Ike Davis.
Alderson is apparently calling up teams who he was in contact with during the winter, so the Pirates, Brewers, and Orioles are among the possibilities. Davis hasn't appeared in a game in more than two weeks due to a calf injury, so it's unlikely that a trade will be a legitimate possibility until he proves his health. His value is at rock bottom regardless.

Mon Mar 17 201417:07Davis, Duda not ready for Grapefruit action
Ike Davis (calf) and Lucas Duda (hamstring) will not play in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game.
Davis and Duda were supposed to battle it out for the starting first base job this spring, but both are stuck on the minor league side for now as they work their way back from injury. It's not an ideal situation for New York.

Wed Mar 12 201410:38Davis (calf) must run before allowed to DH
Mets skipper Terry Collins said Ike Davis (calf) must run before he can DH.
The first baseman has been sidelined since March 3 with a right-calf strain. He'll test the injury Wednesday. "I haven't tried running on it, so I don't know," Davis said about DHing. "We'll see."
