Yankees optioned OF Chris Dickerson to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
He was cleared to make room for Kevin Whelan on the active roster. Dickerson has only logged 17 plate appearances since being called up from the minors last month, so he has essentially served as the last man off the bench. He'll likely be back at some point.

Chris Dickerson left Wednesday's game against the Orioles after being hit in the head by Michael Gonzalez in the top of the 15th inning.
It looked like Dickerson was going to stay in the game at first, but he was eventually replaced on the basepaths by A.J. Burnett. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said after the game that Dickerson likely has a concussion, but we'll know more after the club receives the results of a CT scan taken early Thursday morning.

Fri Apr 1 201101:04Yankees option OF Dickerson to Triple-A
Yankees optioned OF Chris Dickerson to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Dickerson probably would have made the roster if Curtis Granderson's oblique caused him to miss the start of the season, but that obviously wasn't necessary. Still, the 28-year-old outfielder should see time in the majors at some point this season.

Mon Mar 28 201114:40Dickerson will run Monday to test hamstring
Chris Dickerson will run Monday in Yankees camp to test his sore hamstring.
Dickerson is hoping that he only suffered a minor hamstring strain. He was traded to the Yankees last week for right-hander Sergio Mitre and is hoping to make New York's Opening Day roster as a backup outfielder.

Sat Mar 26 201116:41Dickerson's injury could be minor

Fri Mar 25 201111:39Yanks swap Mitre for outfielder Dickerson
Yankees acquired OF Chris Dickerson from the Brewers for RHP Sergio Mitre.
Not a bad get for the Yanks, considering how far Mitre's stock had fallen inside the organization. Dickerson is an athletic outfielder with a decent .257/.356/.403 career batting line and very good speed. He will help ease the pain of Curtis Granderson's sudden oblique injury, either as a member of the season-opening big league roster or from afar at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Sat Mar 19 201119:53Chris Dickerson picks up three hits
Chris Dickerson went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-6 tie with the Dodgers.
He also stole a base and threw a runner out at home in a nice, well-rounded effort. Slated to be the Brewers' No. 4 outfield this season, Dickerson could wind up with ample playing time when Carlos Gomez goes through his inevitable droughts at the dish.

Mon Mar 14 201117:29Dickerson leaves game after collision
Chris Dickerson left Monday's game against the Giants after colliding with Pablo Sandoval in the fourth inning.
The pair collided while Dickerson was running the bases in the top of the fourth inning. Sandoval has lost some weight over the winter, but that still can't feel good. It's not clear what Dickerson may have injured, but he was assisted and slowly came off the field. He was replaced on defense by Jeremy Reed to begin the bottom of the fourth inning. Stay tuned for an update on his status.

Chris Dickerson will make his Brewers' debut in center field on Tuesday night.

Mon Aug 9 201013:36Brewers acquire Dickerson for Jim Edmonds
Brewers acquired OF Chris Dickerson from the Reds for OF Jim Edmonds.
Dickerson is currently on the disabled list, but may be ready to join the Brewers by the end of this week. He's batting .442/.528/.767 with three home runs in 55 at-bats at Triple-A Louisville and he has always flashed good speed on the base paths. But the 28-year-old is not likely to be a high-impact guy for Milwaukee this season or in the near future.
Thu Aug 5 201009:31Funeral keeps Dickerson from being activated
Chris Dickerson (hand surgery) would have been activated for the series that starts with the Cubs on Friday, but he had to return to California for the funeral of his grandmother.
Dickerson has been killing the ball on his rehab assignment, hitting .442 over 43 at-bats. He's clearly ready to return to the lineup and will do so soon. Someone will need to be removed from the 40-man roster, as Dickerson is currently on the 60-day DL.

Mon Aug 2 201009:35Dickerson likely to rejoin Reds this week
Chris Dickerson, out since May due to right hand surgery, is likely to be activated from the disabled list this week.
Dickerson is hitting .421/.511/.711 over 38 at-bats on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville and 25-year-old Drew Stubbs is struggling mightily at the big league level. Stubbs could be sent to the minors to right the ship and Dickerson could take his spot on the 25-man roster. It might not be a popular move in Cincinnati or around fantasy leagues because Stubbs has played well at times this year, but it probably needs to happen.
