Tue Sep 1 201518:20Sucre not in lineup for Tuesday's game against Astros
Sucre is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
The 27-year-old has failed to pick up his production since taking over the primary role from Mike Zunino, going 2-for-14 in his last four games. John Hicks wasn't great by any means at Triple-A Tacoma this season (.245/.282/.362), but the M's could opt to turn to him or back to Zunino more often down the stretch.

Sucre gets the start behind the plate on Monday, batting ninth against the Astros, according to Greg Johns of MLB.com.
Sucre has been seeing fairly regular playing time, despite hitting just .116 this season. He replaces John Hicks behind the plate.
Sun Jul 26 201510:31Sucre 1-4 Saturday with solo shot, first home run of season
Sucre went 1-for-4 Saturday with a solo shot, his first home run of the season.
More importantly for his possible future playing time though, he couldn't get on the same page with starter J.A. Happ, and the two required mound conferences seemingly after every pitch in a brutal second inning before Happ got the hook. If Sucre is butting heads with the Mariners' starters, the team may have to look elsewhere for a backup catcher.
Thu Jun 4 201518:43Sucre recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday
Sucre was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
The Mariners designated Justin Ruggiano for assignment to make room for a backup catcher. Mike Zunino will start Thursday's game against the Rays, but Sucre should get into the lineup at some point this upcoming weekend.
Wed Jun 3 201520:34Sucre will likely return to Mariners to serve as backup catcher
Sucre will likely return to the Mariners to serve as the backup catcher, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
Sucre saw steady time as the backup to Mike Zunino during April and early-May, but a .067 batting average left the team with much to be desired, and they eventually sought out Welington Castillo on the trade market. However, after Castillo was sent to Arizona in the deal to acquire 1B/OF/DH Mark Trumbo, the backup catcher position was once again vacant. Even if/when Sucre is called up, he holds little-to-no fantasy value.

Sucre was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish reports.
This move was fully anticipated following the Mariners trading for Welington Castillo on Tuesday. Sucre will continue to provide organizational catching depth at the Triple-A level.
Sun Apr 12 201513:48Sucre out of lineup Sunday after getting start on Saturday

Sucre (hip) is just 3-for-26 without any extra-base hits in Cactus League play this spring.
Sucre only has three strikeouts, so he's at least been making contact. He also has moved past the hip injury that cost him a few days, and is still in line to open the season as Seattle's backup catcher.
Wed Mar 25 201518:29Sucre (hip) could play in one of Thursday's split-squad games
Sucre (hip) could play in one of Thursday's split-squad games, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Sucre has been dealing with a sore right hip and has missed the team's last few spring games as a result. He's still expected to win the backup catching job so if he's able to return to game action as early as Thursday, the 26-year-old figures to be ready to go by Opening Day.
Tue Mar 24 201511:40Sucre (hip) will get second day off Tuesday
Sucre (hip) will get a second day off Tuesday, but could be back in the lineup later this week, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports.
He is expected to win the backup catcher job in Seattle, and there does not seem to be much concern about his availability for Opening Day.
Tue Mar 24 201510:35Sucre (hip) expected to win backup catching job over John Baker
Sucre (hip) is expected to win the backup catching job over John Baker, the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Sucre can't hit (two hits in 20 at-bats this spring), but he is excellent defensively. "He shuts down the running game," manager Lloyd McClendon said. "And he's very adept (at calling a game)." He likely see a start or so a week to give Mike Zunino a rest. Zunino played 131 games last year.
Mon Mar 23 201511:58Sucre (hip) expected to be full go Tuesday
Sucre (hip) is expected to be a full go Tuesday, 710 ESPN's Shannon Drayer reports.
The Mariners' backup catcher was sidelined for a couple days with a hip issue, but it was nothing major and he should be deemed fully healthy in a couple days.

Sucre is dealing with a sore right hip and may need a few days off the field to rest, Greg Johns of Mariners.com reports.
Sucre should be considered day-to-day moving forward as he looks to shake off the soreness with rest. His status should be updated by the Mariners in due time, although his hip issue doesn't seem overly serious.

Sucre cleared concussion tests after taking a foul ball to the mask Tuesday, but he did not play Wednesday, the Associated Press reports.
The Mariners are off Thursday, but Sucre should be available to catch if needed during the team's weekend series against the Nationals.
Tue Jul 8 201416:30Mariners recall Jesus Sucre from AAA level
Mariners recalled C Jesus Sucre from Triple-A Tacoma.

Tue Mar 11 201414:54Mariners cut 11, down to 44 in MLB camp
Mariners optioned C Jesus Sucre, 1B Ji-Man Choi, INF Carlos Triunfel, LHP Bobby LaFromboise and RHP Logan Bawcom to Triple-A Tacoma; reassigned C Mike Dowd, INFs Ty Kelly and Nate Tenbrink, RHPs Logan Kensing and Matt Palmer and LHP Nick Hill to minor league camp.
Sucre and Triunfel figure to ride the Tacoma-to-Seattle shuttle throughout the season as needed for extra catching and infield depth, respectively, while LaFromboise and Bawcom will get a shot in the MLB bullpen at some point in 2014 unless they implode on the farm. Choi is an intriguing bat who was added to the 40-man roster in November after slashing a robust .309/.411/.511 over 238 career minor league games. The Mariners now have 44 players in big league camp.
