Chris Narveson allowed three runs on four hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings of work on Sunday, taking a no-decision in Milwaukee's 5-4 win over the Astros.
He struck out four and walked three. Narveson will finish July with a 4.33 ERA, though it could have been much lower if he hadn't gotten bombed for seven runs by the Twins on July 2. He'll get the Astros again next weekend.

Thu Jul 21 201101:25Narveson throws seven scoreless in ND
Chris Narveson allowed just four hits in seven scoreless innings of work on Wednesday evening, but got stuck with a no-decision in Milwaukee's 5-2, 10-inning win in Arizona.
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke didn't send Narveson back out for the eighth despite the fact that he had thrown just 87 pitches, and Francisco Rodriguez promptly blew his fourth save of the season. Narveson finished his night with four strikeouts and zero walks, and is now the owner of a 4.45 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 98/43 K/BB ratio through his first 115 1/3 innings of work.

Chris Narveson was ineffective against the Reds on Monday evening, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks in four innings of a Brewers loss.
He struck out seven while surrendering Jay Bruce's 16th home run. Tonight was the second consecutive start that Narveson failed to record an out in the fifth inning, while he now owns a 4.68 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 59 2/3 innings of work. His 56 strikeouts are hard to argue with, however.

Chris Narveson was denied a victory after shutting out the Padres for 7 1/3 innings Thursday.
Aaron Harang carried a shutout to the ninth, so Narveson remained 2-3 on the season. He's turned in three straight quality starts since hitting a brief rough patch at the end of April. His ERA is back down to 3.44 now.

Sat May 14 201120:27Narveson goes six innings in win over Bucs
Chris Narveson spun six innings of one-run ball in a win over the Pirates on Saturday.
Narveson held the Pirates to just four hits -- three of them singles -- while fanning five and walking four. It's just his second win of the season and his first since April 9. We blame Rob Neyer. The southpaw has a 4.00 ERA across his first eight outings this season and continues to have sleeper potential in deeper mixed formats.

Sun May 1 201117:12Narveson pays for mistake in loss
Chris Narveson allowed seven hits and four runs in six innings of work on Sunday afternoon, easily getting out-dueled by Bud Norris in a Brewers loss to the Astros.
Narveson struck out seven while walking none, but was done in by a single pitch, one Carlos Lee took to deep left field for a three-run homer in the sixth. Narveson has now lost back-to-back starts, but still owns a solid 32/12 K/BB ratio through 33 innings of work, and is worth holding onto in deeper mixed leagues.

Tue Apr 26 201110:00Narveson was pitching through illness Monday
Chris Narveson was pitching through an illness Monday when he was shelled by the Reds.
Narveson surrendered eight hits and seven earned runs in less than three innings of work. "He didn't have it," said Brewers manager Ron Roenicke. "Everything was elevated. I don't want to make excuses but he was sick yesterday. I know he wasn't 100 percent. Hopefully that's the reason he was up in the zone." The lefty now has a 4.33 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through five starts.

Mon Apr 25 201123:42Narveson shelled by Reds in loss
Chris Narveson got rocked by the Reds on Monday evening, surrendering seven runs in just 2 1/3 innings of a Brewers loss.
He struck out two and walked one in allowing eight hits and one home run. Narveson had mostly been cruising along this season, tossing three quality starts in his first four outings while never allowing more than three runs. However, though he isn't likely to be this bad too often, it's prudent to remember that aside from strikeouts, Narveson has traditionally not offered fantasy owners much.

Chris Narveson yielded three runs in six innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Fri Apr 15 201122:29Narveson walks in 10-inning loss
Chris Narveson walked in two runs in the second inning on Friday night, but would settle down, allowing three runs over 5 2/3 innings in Milwaukee's 10-inning loss to the Nationals.
He struck out five but issued four free passes, three of which came in the second inning. Narveson owned a 0.00 ERA through 13 innings coming into tonight, but this is much closer to the pitcher he should be going forward. He racks up strikeouts while very often bending, but not usually breaking.

Sat Apr 9 201122:06Narveson throws seven more scoreless frames
Chris Narveson pitched seven scoreless innings in Saturday's defeat of the Cubs.
Narveson has now hurled 13 scoreless innings on the young season and is beginning to see waiver adds in many fantasy leagues. He fanned nine Cubs hitters on Saturday while walking just one and moved to 1-0 on the year. The promising lefty will take on the light-hitting Nationals next week.

Mon Apr 4 201117:12Narveson throws six scoreless in no-decision
Chris Narveson hurled six scoreless innings Monday against the Braves but took a no-decision.
The Brewers' bullpen failed Narveson, allowing two eighth-inning home runs to Atlanta. The left-hander gave up only three hits through a spectacular six frames and also tallied five strikeouts. He didn't have a great spring, but Narveson was excellent in the second half of 2010 and may be of use in some deeper mixed leagues.

Fri Mar 25 201117:49Narveson toughs out five innings
Chris Narveson fought through five innings against Cleveland on Friday, surrendering six hits, three runs and two walks while striking out seven.
Narveson has pitched poorly for most of the spring, and now owns a 6.23 ERA through 21 2/3 innings. A decent strikeout pitcher, Narveson will be worth a look in most NL-only leagues this season, but he isn't likely to help you out anywhere else, and could eventually find himself in Milwaukee's bullpen.

Sun Mar 20 201118:03Narveson shelled by Cincinnati
Chris Narveson got into the wrong kind of duel with Cincinnati's Edinson Volquez on Sunday, allowing nine hits and seven runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Volquez allowed five runs in 2 1/3 innings. Narveson's spring ERA now sits at 6.48 through 16 2/3 innings, while he's punched out just eight batters. The Brewers are going to need him to have a strong April with Zack Greinke now looking likely to miss most of the first month of the season.

Tue Mar 15 201118:07Narveson labors through 4 2/3 innings
Chris Narveson labored through 4 2/3 innings Tuesday, giving up four runs on six hits against the Indians.
The southpaw struck out two, but his undoing was yielding a pair of two-run homers -- one to Carlos Santana and one to Chad Huffman. Narveson still holds a 3.65 ERA this spring even after today's subpar effort, though he's struck out just six batters over 12 1/3 innings.

Thu Mar 10 201117:11Narveson holds Rockies in check
Chris Narveson held the Rockies to one run on four hits and a walk over 3 2/3 innings Thursday.
He struck out a pair. Narveson's spring is off to a fine start, as he's allowed just the one run over his first 7 2/3 innings. The southpaw will be the Brewers' No. 4 starter in April with Zach Greinke on the shelf.

Sun Mar 6 201116:42Narveson throws two scoreless innings
Chris Narveson allowed two walks and one hit in two scoreless frames against the A's on Sunday, striking out none.
A decent day for the Brewers' projected fifth starter, but he'll be in trouble if he has many strikeout-free outings in 2011.
