Tue Apr 23 201321:01Lohse still planning on making next start
Kyle Lohse (finger) remains optimistic about making his next start on Sunday, though Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said he could be pushed back "a day or two days."
Lohse will already be getting an extra day of rest with Thursday's off day, but the Brewers could play it safe and push him back a little farther. The righty has a dislocated left pinkie, but X-rays were negative. "We just need to get some of the swelling out of it," said Lohse. "It's a little sensitive but I should be OK."

Tue Apr 23 201301:20Brewers hope Kyle Lohse won't miss start
The Brewers are hopeful that Kyle Lohse (finger) will be able to make his next start.
Great news for the Brew Crew. Lohse dislocated his left pinkie during Monday's game after it connected with Jedd Gyorko as he crossed first base. The injury looked pretty nasty, but it's obviously Lohse's non-throwing hand, so he should be OK. The righty boasts a 2.52 ERA and 0.96 WHIP through his first four starts this season.

Mon Apr 22 201323:59Kyle Lohse leaves start with finger injury
Kyle Lohse left Monday's start in the sixth inning after injuring his left pinkie on a play at first base.
Lohse's finger appeared to dislocate after it connected with Jedd Gyorko as he crossed first base. It's obviously good that it's on his non-throwing hand, but a disabled list stint seems possible. Lohse was cruising again before the injury, holding the Padres to one run over five frames. The Brewers should update his status shortly.

Wed Apr 17 201323:13Lohse decent in no-decision vs. Giants
Kyle Lohse allowed three runs in seven innings as the Brewers beat the Giants on Wednesday.
New uniform, same result for Lohse this season. Wednesday was Lohse's third-straight quality start, and the right-hander now owns a 2.70 ERA and 0.90 WHIP through three starts. He's not an elite option for strikeouts, but he's plenty useful in fantasy regardless. He's got another favorable matchup in his next start as the Brewers travel to San Diego on Monday.

Fri Apr 12 201322:39Kyle Lohse pitches well against former team
Kyle Lohse pitched very well in a losing effort against his former team on Friday, allowing just two runs on six hits over his seven innings of work.
Lohse fanned two and didn't issue a walk on the evening. David Freese smacked an RBI single in the second inning to start the scoring, and Yadier Molina added a solo homer in the seventh off their former teammate. Lohse has hit the ground running so far with the Brewers though, and will carry a 2.08 ERA and 7/0 K/BB ratio into Wednesday's home start against the Giants.

Wednesday's game between the Brewers and Cubs was postponed due to rainy conditions at Wrigley Field.

Kyle Lohse will make his Brewers' debut on Friday against the Diamondbacks.
Lohse waited until a week before Opening Day to sign, but he'll wind up being just a few days behind schedule. His pitch count will be limited a bit early on, but it shouldn't be too far shy of the 100-pitch mark.

Thu Mar 28 201319:12Kyle Lohse goes 3 2/3 in Brewers' debut
Kyle Lohse tossed 3 2/3 innings of one-run ball against the Rockies in his Brewers' debut Thursday.
He gave up four hits, didn't walk anyone and struck out a pair in the solid outing. Lohse's stamina isn't quite up to where the Brewers would like after he was finally signed earlier this week, but he's hoping to be ready to make his first regular season start as soon as the club's second series.

Wed Mar 27 201310:45Lohse to make Cactus League debut Thursday
Kyle Lohse will make his Cactus League debut on Thursday.
That was fast. Lohse just agreed to a three-year, $33 million contract with the Brewers on Monday, but since he's been throwing simulated games, he isn't that far behind. The expectation is that he could be ready to make his official Brewers' debut by the second week of the regular season.

Mon Mar 25 201321:21Kyle Lohse to make debut during second week
Kyle Lohse said Monday that he expected to be ready to make his Brewers' debut by the second week of the season.
Lohse obviously has yet to appear in spring training action, but he's been throwing simulated games on his own and isn't far behind. He could make one Cactus League start before the club heads north prior to debuting during the Brewers' first road trip of the season, which takes them to Chicago and St. Louis, where Lohse used to pitch.

Mon Mar 25 201318:55Lohse passes physical, Brewers deal official
Brewers signed RHP Kyle Lohse to a three-year, $33 million contract.
He'll have a chance to earn an additional $1 million in incentives. Lohse obviously hung around on the free agent market way longer than expected, but the Brewers ended up getting him at a pretty decent price and he'll give them a much-needed innings-eater in their rotation. Despite not having appeared in a spring training game, there's a chance Lohse could be ready to take his first turn in the rotation when the season begins.

Mon Mar 25 201316:55Lohse to throw bullpen session Tuesday
Kyle Lohse is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday.
Lohse has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $33 million contract with the Brewers, but he still has to pass a physical before it becomes official. Assuming all goes well, he could pitch in a game as soon as Wednesday or Thursday. He has been pitching in simulated games despite not being in a major league camp until now, so there's a chance he could be ready to go for the start of the season.

Mon Mar 25 201312:13Kyle Lohse finally finds home with Milwaukee
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that free agent right-hander Kyle Lohse is signing with the Brewers.
Lohse finally has a team. The 34-year-old posted a fantastic 2.86 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 33 starts last season for the Cardinals but struggled to attract a market this winter because of the new draft pick compensation system. The Brewers will have to forfeit the 17th overall pick in 2013, but they're getting rotation stability in return. And that's exactly what they've been needing.

Sat Mar 23 201312:03Rangers attend Lohse's simulated game
Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the Rangers had a scout at free agent Kyle Lohse's simulated game Friday.
The Rangers claim that they were simply doing "their due diligence." Lohse has been throwing 90-pitch simulated games in Arizona so that he can be ready to pitch in live games as soon he signs a contract. The veteran right-hander is believed to be looking to "at least match" Ryan Dempster's two-year, $26.5 million deal this offseason.

Fri Mar 22 201311:40Blue Jays won't pursue Kyle Lohse
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Blue Jays will not pursue Kyle Lohse.
Ricky Romero's 2012 struggles have carried over into spring training, but if he's bumped from the rotation, the Jays will just replace him with J.A. Happ. The Rangers, Brewers and Rockies are among the clubs still monitoring Lohse.

Thu Mar 21 201315:56Rockies doing 'due diligence' on Kyle Lohse
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Rockies are doing "their due diligence" on Kyle Lohse.
But an agreement is unlikely because the Rockies have already stretched their budget and are not willing to make a sizable offer. Rosenthal says Lohse is looking to "at least match" Ryan Dempster's two-year, $26.5 million pact with the Red Sox. The Rangers and Brewers have also been in contact recently with the 34-year-old righty.

Thu Mar 21 201314:49Lohse is throwing simulated games in Arizona
According to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports, free agent Kyle Lohse is throwing 90-pitch simulated games in Arizona.
Lohse doesn't have a team yet, but he's going through a normal spring throwing routine so that he can be ready to pitch in live games as soon he signs a contract. The right-hander's agent, Scott Boras, told Peter Gammons of MLB Network on Thursday that there are "many teams in play" for his client. Opening Day is 10 days away.

Thu Mar 21 201309:01Kyle Lohse won't wait for June draft to sign
Kyle Lohse's agent, Scott Boras, told MLB Network's Peter Gammons on Thursday that the right-hander will not wait until after the June draft to sign with a team.
Waiting would free Lohse of the draft-pick compensation that has kept teams from making serious offers this winter. But Boras believes his client will be inked to a deal well before that even becomes an option. "We have too many teams in play," the super agent told Gammons. Lohse, 34, posted an excellent 2.86 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 33 starts last season for the Cardinals.
