"Everything went well, everything felt good," Jones said. "I think one or two more (bullpens) and I'll be ready for a simulated game or whatever they want me to do." Manager Rick Renteria said he spoke with pitching coach Don Cooper and trainer Herm Schneider after Jones' outing. "They said it went well," Renteria said.

RHP Nate Jones was placed on the 10-day disabled list with right elbow neuritis. Jones is 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA in 11 relief appearances. He has 15 strike outs in 11 2/3 innings and leads the team with four holds. "He's got what we think is a relatively minor nerve irritation in his forearm," White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said. "He was feeling it down his forearm, which led to an MRI. Based on the diagnosis, we are optimistic he could be back pitching in games within the next two weeks."

RHP Nate Jones left with two outs in the seventh inning of the White Sox's 6-5 loss in 11 innings to the Houston Astros on Tuesday night. Jones was injured on a ground ball back up the middle that hit him in the left foot. He has a bruised foot and is day-to-day. Jones started the inning in relief of LHP Carlos Rodon and got the first two outs. He was injured on the second out when SS Carlos Correa hit a hard ground ball back to the mound. The ball ricocheted off the inside of Jones' left foot before he picked it up and threw Correa out at first. Jones is 2-0 with a 2.20 ERA in 17 appearances this season.

Jones (2-2) earned a win Saturday, striking out the only hitter he faced in a 4-3 win over the Tigers.
Jones required just four pitches to strike out Ian Kinsler, becoming the team's pitcher of record when Leury Garcia hit a walk-off single in the bottom half of the frame. The 29-year-old has posted a tidy 0.95 WHIP in 19 innings since returning from Tommy John surgery. Assuming he stays healthy, Jones will be in the mix for high-leverage situations next season.

Jones picked up the win Saturday against the Mariners after pitching a no-hit inning in relief.
He struck out two and walked one in his 18-pitch inning, and he earned the win after the White Sox's bats broke the tie game in the next half-inning. Jones has yet to allow a run in his first six appearances back from the disabled list, and he has posted a stellar 10:2 K:BB in those 6.1 frames. He will occupy a late-inning, role, but it will take an David Robertson injury for him to earn any saves.

Jones struck out one in two-thirds of an inning Wednesday against the Angels.
Jones just came off the disabled list, but he has been immediately thrown into high-pressure situations. On Wednesday, he was called upon to pitch to Mike Trout and Albert Pujols while the White Sox clutched a one-run lead. Two of Jones' seven pitches touched 99 mph, so it looks like he has not lost much velocity despite not pitching for much of the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Jones (elbow) was activated from the 60-day disabled list Wednesday.
Jones, who underwent Tommy John surgery at the end of July last season, will finally make his first big league appearance of the 2015 campaign. His procedure doesn't seem to have set him back much, as he allowed just one run over 6.1 innings of work at Triple-A Charlotte. Jones challenged for the closer role in 2014 before being sidelined, but with David Robertson now in that role, the best that the 29-year-old can likely hope for is a setup role.

Jones (elbow) has thrown five scoreless innings with Triple-A Charlotte so far during his rehab assignment.
Once viewed as the future closer of the White Sox heading into last spring, Jones would eventually require surgery on his back and then a Tommy John procedure in July to wipe out his season. He's required from the latter operation faster than anticipated, and has fared well on his rehab assignment thus far, though his strikeouts are conspicuously absent. It may take a while for the hard-throwing Jones to harness his velocity, but he should make a cameo in the White Sox bullpen before the season ends.

Jones (elbow) will move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Jones made four appearances for High-A Winston-Salem to start his rehab assignment, giving up one earned run over four innings. He's on track to join the Chicago bullpen in late July or early-to-mid August, and the team will likely use him as a middle reliever. If he fares well, Jones could potentially earn a late-inning role by the end of the season.
Mon Jul 20 201510:28 Nate Jones: (Elbow) Will Move Rehab Assignment to Triple-A
Chicago White Sox pitcher Nate Jones will move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Charlotte while recovering from an elbow injury, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Chicago White Sox pitcher Nate Jones will move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Charlotte while recovering from an elbow injury, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Jones has progressed in his rehab, allowing one run over four appearances at High-A Winston Salem, and he could be ready to return as soon as late-July, as manager Robin Ventura said he was hitting 96-98 miles per hour on the radar gun before beginning his rehab. “Velocity-wise he could probably go pitch right now but just the feel of it, throwing strikes, slider, off-speed stuff, not quite the feel you’d like him to have to be able to pitch for us,” Ventura told CSNChicago.com. “But coming out of his hand, he’s excited, it’s fun to see him go out there and throw like that.” Jones will likely be used as a middle reliever upon his return.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura suggested that Jones (elbow) is almost ready to start a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.
Jones has been throwing simulated games since early June, and his velocity is reportedly back up to strength, less than a full year after he had Tommy John surgery. He still figures to require a lengthy rehab assignment, so he probably won't be an option for the big-league bullpen until August. If the White Sox trade David Robertson, it's possible Jones could be in the mix for saves late in the season.
Sat Jun 6 201520:03Jones (elbow) threw well in simulated game Friday
Jones (elbow) threw well in his simulated game Friday, but is still not ready to go on a rehab assignment, CSN Chicago's Dan Hayes reports.
He threw his fastball between 96-98 mph and featured a good slider and changeup during the outing Friday in Arizona. Since he is a reliever the eventual rehab assignment may not last long. With David Robertson in place as the team's closer, Jones will not be in line for saves, but he has the stuff to put up impressive strikeout totals in Chicago's bullpen.
Fri Jun 5 201508:20Jones (elbow) threw simulated game Tuesday
Jones (elbow) threw a simulated game Tuesday, and he is scheduled to throw another Friday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
He continues to progress slowly from last season's Tommy John surgery. He went under the knife in July 2014, so it would be unrealistic to expect him back before the second half of the season.

Jones (elbow) has joined the White Sox in Chicago and will throw a couple side sessions before reporting to Arizona, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Jones will continue to work on the side in Arizona before getting into some extended spring training games. Still just a little over nine months removed from Tommy John surgery, he will be hard-pressed to make it back before the All-Star break, but it's not completely out of the question.
