Fri Feb 6 201520:19Williams (hip) will not play Friday against Spurs

Williams will miss a third straight game, meaning Danny Granger and James Ennis should each see a slight bump in minutes. Consider Williams questionable for Monday's game against New York.

Williams' (hip) status for Friday's game against the Spurs has been downgraded to doubtful.
Williams has already missed two games with this hip injury and he seems in line to sit for another against the Spurs. However, he managed to participate in the morning shootaround which means that his injury doesn't have long-term implications.

Williams (hip) is considered questionable to play against the Spurs on Friday, the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Williams has missed two straight games with his hip injury. It appears that he'll be another game-time decision Friday, while Danny Granger and James Ennis wait in the wings for added playing time.
Wed Feb 4 201518:45Williams (hip) will miss another game Wednesday
Williams (hip) will miss another game Wednesday.
While he started for the Heat earlier in the season, his role has been reduced to a 10-20 minute-per-game guy, which makes it difficult to use him in fantasy leagues. Consider Williams day-to-day for now.
Tue Feb 3 201518:17Williams (hip) will not play Tuesday
Williams (hip) will not play Tuesday, NBA.com's Keith Langlois reports.
He had seen less than 20 minutes in each of his last five games, so there were few leagues where he was usable when healthy. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Williams (hip) sat out Tuesday's walk-through and is listed as a game-time call.
The nature of Williams' injury is unknown, but the fact that he remains a game-time call indicates it's likely nothing serious. Check back closer to Tuesday's 7:30 PM ET tip for a more definitive update.

Williams (foot) logged 10 minutes in his return to action Wednesday against the Pacers. He committed three fouls and didn't contribute any other stats.
Williams had missed one game due to a foot injury, and it's likely he'll start to see minutes in the low 20's as he had early on in the season. Still, he's been averaging just 8.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.7 three-pointers per game this season, and is only an option in 16-man leagues or deeper.

Williams will play and start in Saturday's game against the Grizzlies, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Williams could be recovered, or the Heat could just be desperate until Chris Bosh's projected return next Saturday. Even though he was never really a strong play, the likelihood he isn't 100 percent combined with Bosh coming back means Williams is running pretty low on value.
Sat Dec 27 201411:05Williams (foot) considered game-time decision
Williams (foot) is considered a game-time decision, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.
Coach Erik Spoelstra said Williams' foot is "real sore" following Thursday's win over the Cavaliers, and there's a chance the forward could sit out Saturday, further testing a Miami frontcourt already decimated by injuries. Chris Bosh (calf) is aiming to return Saturday, but nothing is set in stone, so if Williams is also out, Miami will likely turn to Udonis Haslem for big minutes. Williams is averaging 6.1 points while shooting 34.0 percent from three in the month of December.
Sat Dec 20 201409:44Williams played 24 minutes as starter against Wizards on Friday ...
Williams played 24 minutes as a starter against the Wizards on Friday and was able to put up eight points and three rebounds during his time on the court.
Williams has bounced back-and-fourth between the bench and the starting lineup over the course of the season, but one thing remains constant, he doesn't amount significant production. As a result, Williams is a hard player to justify owning in anything but the deepest of leagues and formats.
Fri Dec 19 201419:26Shawne Williams: To Start Friday
Williams will start for the Heat on Friday.
Williams will receive the start in the place of Justin Hamilton, who will come off the bench Friday. It's unclear how much he will play, but it will likely be north of the 24 minutes he is averaging this season.

Williams came off the bench behind Udonis Haslem, however was able to contribute a lot more for his team. He finished with four points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, and one steal in 28 minutes.
Haslem got the start, but was didn't carve out a role for himself on the team, even with the Heat facing so many injuries. Williams, although not playing the way he was earlier in the season, is still a player who can give owners a lot more, but is still only an option for those in deeper leagues or desperate for threes.

Williams scored nine points (3-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt) and added four rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 24 minutes of play against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
Williams' boost in minutes is likely due to the fact the Heat were playing their second game in two nights and the Heat need some energy. They trailed in this game from the beginning and really couldn't get anything going.

Williams was replaced by Josh McRoberts in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Hawks. He scored six points (2-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and a rebound in 18 minutes.
William's playing time has steadily declined over the past four games and as such, he should now only be owned in the deepest of leagues as a three-point specialist.

Williams played 36 minutes in the Heat's victory over the Nets, scoring five points going 1-of-5 from the field, and going 2-of-2 from the line.
His point total is underwhelming to say the least. He did grab six rebounds and tallied four assists but this is still sub-par production from a starting player receiving a significant amount of minutes. It seems that Coach Erik Spoelstra has put trust in Williams because he constantly receives minutes, but his value on the team is not necessarily a reflection of his fantasy value. Expect Williams to receive the same amount of minutes, but also expect these same mediocre box score numbers if you pick him up.
Wed Nov 5 201401:22Williams started and scored 14 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT) ...
Williams started and scored 14 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT) while grabbing five rebounds in 29 minutes against the Rockets Tuesday.
For the third game in a row, Josh McRoberts (toe) came off the bench and saw only limited run, leaving Williams in place as a starter. McRoberts has actually played less time in each successive game, fist playing 11 minutes, then eight, and then just six minutes on Tuesday. Williams is primarily valuable as a cheap source of threes and scoring, and at the rate McRoberts is going, it looks as though Williams will get several more games in as a starter.

Williams' teammate Josh McRoberts fully participated in practice today, South Florida Sun Sentinel's Ira Winderman reports.
Williams got the start primarily because of McRoberts' injury, which is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. McRoberts' health directly impacts Williams' playing time, so don't be surprised to see a huge drop in Williams' minutes.

Williams played 31 minutes and came out with 3 points, 6 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals.
The 31 minutes are the most Shawne Williams has seen in awhile. His offensive production is virtually non-existent at this point, going 1-for-9 from the field, and 0-of-6 from 3. His rebounds and assist totals are fairly decent, but they do not impact his fantasy value moving forward.
Tue Oct 21 201419:22Williams will likely start for Heat to open regular season
Williams will likely start for the Heat to open the regular season, the South Florida Sun Sentinel's Ira Winderman reports.
Part of the reason for this is that Josh McRoberts is still sidelined with a toe injury, and may not be available for the start of the regular season. However, Winderman said that even if McRoberts is healthy, Williams could be the guy next to Chris Bosh in the frontcourt, given his ability to stretch defenses if Bosh sets up in the post. That said, he's never played more than 21 minutes per game in a season, so it's unlikely he sees starter's minutes, even if he is the starter.
