Augustin scored 25 points (8-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT) with 13 assists, four rebounds and a steal in 35 minutes during Tuesday's win over the Heat.
It's the third time in the last five games that Augustin has struck for 25 or more points, as he continues to thrive in Brandon Jennings' absence. Barring a major roster shakeup at the trade deadline, expect Augustin to be a big part of the Pistons' offense for the rest of the season.

Augustin finished with 19 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt), four rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 36 minutes during Tuesday's loss to the Cavaliers.
Augustin stayed productive in his second straight start with Brandon Jennings done for the season. Over those two games he's combined for 54 points, eight rebounds and 17 assists, while shooting over 50 percent from both the field and the three-point line. He's officially a must start in most leagues, as he'll be playing in the mid-to-high thirties in minutes moving forward.

Augustin exploded for 35 points (12-20 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), to go with eight assists, and four rebounds 37 minutes on Sunday.
Augustin didn't disappoint those who were quick enough to pick him up with a fantastic line on Sunday. The Pistons were reported to be looking into acquiring another guard, however Augustin seems to be making a case for the team to roll forward with him. If he's still available in your league add him immediately, as the promise of what he can do is simply to great to ignore.

Augustin will start at point guard for the injured Brandon Jennings (Achilles) Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports reports.
With Jennings out for the rest of the season, Augustin figures to be Detroit's starting point guard for the remainder of the NBA season. Augustin is probably worth adding to your season long fantasy team, especially if you need assists, but the report went on to state that head coach Stan Van Gundy also wants to add another point guard to the roster. This player could limit Augustin's minutes and fantasy value, which could keep him an inconsistent fantasy player.

Augustin could have an expanded role starting Sunday if Brandon Jennings' leg injury holds him out for any period of time.
Augustin's per-36 minutes stats this season are: 14.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.2 three-pointers on 39 percent shooting from the field and 83 percent from the free-throw line. If the Pistons don't add another point guard, they could run Augustin ragged, but coach Stan Van Gundy usually limits his starting point guard to under 32 minutes per game, meaning the averages above should be considered a better-than-best-case scenario.

Augustin had six points (3-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt) with 10 assists and two steals in 26 minutes in the win over the 76ers on Saturday.
Augustin received more minutes than in past games as Brandon Jennings took a seat after 22 minutes. He equaled his season high in assists. Augustin has only scored in double digits once in his last six games.
Thu Jan 8 201501:21Augustin put up season-high 26 points (9-16 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT)...
Augustin put up a season-high 26 points (9-16 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT) to go with one rebound, two assists, and one steal in 22 minutes off the bench Wednesday.
Augustin is the backup point guard for the Pistons, and even though he put up back-to-back games of 19 and 26 points, Augustin doesn't get consistent enough minutes and production from game to game to be of use in standard leagues. Deep league players and daily games players could take a flier on Augustin, but standard league players would likely find themselves disappointed with his production sooner than later. Since Josh Smith left the Pistons seven games ago, Augustin has averaged 11.6 points, 6.0 assists, 0.6 steals, and 1.1 three-pointers in 22 minutes per game.

Augustin had a strong showing in Tuesday's win over the Spurs, finishing with a team-high of 19 points (8-18 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), while also adding five assists.
Augustin put up a season-high of 18 shots, allowing him to come one point shy of matching a season-high in points as well. His minutes were right on par with his average so far this year, but don't expect him to consistently have games where he's getting off this many shots. Augustin is only worth a look in the deepest of leagues, as he doesn't produce consistent enough numbers to stay relevant.

Augustin scored 11 points (4-8 FG; 1-3 3Pt) with five rebounds and ten assists in 30 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Magic.
With the Pistons opening up an 18-point lead in the third quarter, Augustin saw big minutes off the bench alongside a red-hot Jodie Meeks. Augustin hasn't topped 24 minutes in a game since December 9 - and didn't even score in Sunday's win in Cleveland - so Tuesday's double-double may be somewhat of a mirage. Still, Augustin is worth keeping an eye on in case coach Stan Van Gundy decides to shake things up again in the wake of Josh Smith's release.

Augustin moved back to the bench after Brandon Jennings returned to the starting lineup on Sunday. He ended the game with five points (2-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt), one assist, and three turnovers in 13 minutes.
With Jennings back, Augustin loses the short-term value he held with an increase in minutes. While he's had notable performances as the backup, they're far from frequent enough to make him worth rostering in all, but the deepest of leagues.

Augustin made a spot start at point guard Tuesday with Brandon Jennings (thumb) sitting out the game. Augustin finished with 11 points (4-11 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, seven assists, and one steal in 37 minutes.
Augustin seems like the odds-on favorite to start again Wednesday unless Jennings is cleared to play with his sprained left thumb. There was a position battle brewing at the start of the season that dissipated as Jennings defined himself, but with the Pistons dropping their last five games and sitting on a record of 3-11, it'd be more shocking to see the Pistons stay the course than it would be to see them shake things up. If any word comes down from coach Stan Van Gundy that the team is going to make a change at point guard, Augustin would be worth adding in most standard leagues. It hasn't gotten there yet, but make sure Augustin is on your watch lists.

Augustin scored 16 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3P, 6-9 FT) with two assists in 21 minutes off the bench Monday.
He had a good game against his former club, but the Bulls had the last laugh in a 102-91 win. Augustin will continue to supply decent numbers off the Pistons' bench, but he's not going to unseat Brandon Jennings in the starting lineup any time soon.

Augustin scored 20 points (6-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT) with six assists in 33 minutes in the loss to the Timberwolves on Thursday.
For the second straight game, Augustin played more minutes than Brandon Jennings, who started the game. Augustin did not shoot efficiently, but he may be a short term add while Jennings struggles with a slight Achilles injury.

Augustin played more minutes than Brandon Jennings, who started the game. Augustin finished the game against the Nuggets with 15 points (5-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and six rebounds.
The Pistons' point guard battle will be one to watch going forward. Jennings and Augustin both had three turnovers in the season opener, but Augustin was much more effective offensively and had three more rebounds than Jennings.

Augustin was praised by Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy as being the team's best point guard at "getting guys in the right places," the Detroit Free Press reports.
Van Gundy is extremely high on Augustin, which has led to some speculation that the Pistons have a legitimate position battle between incumbent starting point guard Brandon Jennings and Augustin. Before jumping to conclusions, it should also be noted that Van Gundy praised Jennings for attacking the rim and making plays in the paint, which were weaknesses in the past. Augustin's value would see a huge spike if he were able to surprise and nab the starting point guard job, but Jennings should still be considered the heavy favorite at this point.
Sun Jul 13 201421:34Pistons sign free agent PG D.J. Augustin
Free agent D.J. Augustin will sign with the Pistons on a two-year deal worth $6 million, according to TNT's David Aldridge.
The free agent market for PGs is thinning out quickly, as guys like Kirk Hinrich, Mario Chalmers, Brian Roberts and Augustin all agreed to terms on Sunday. Detroit already has Will Bynum and Peyton Siva on their roster behind starter Brandon Jennings, and they're stocked with SGs, so it's hard to envision Augustin recapturing the career-high 14.9 points per game he averaged with Chicago last season. Stan Van Gundy came into free agency with a priority on shooting, particularly from the beyond the arc, and he's splurged on deals for Jodie Meeks, Cartier Martin and Augustin.

Sat Jul 12 201411:11Hornets express interest in FA D.J. Augustin
The Hornets have reportedly expressed interest in free agent PG D.J. Augustin.
The Mavericks are also still interested in Augustin despite reaching an agreement with Devin Harris, as they seem reasonably leery of relying too heavily on Raymond Felton at PG. Augustin thrived with Chicago last season, averaging 14.9 points and 5.0 assists, but he'll likely fill a backup role no matter where he signs and those numbers should be viewed as his ceiling.

Tue Jul 1 201413:43Mavericks show interest in D.J. Augustin
The Dallas Mavericks have shown interest in unrestricted free agent D.J. Augustin.
The Mavericks are still interested in re-signing Devin Harris, but are also looking at Augustin as a way to replace the recently traded Jose Calderon. Augustin averaged 14.9 points and 5.0 assists in 61 games with the Bulls last season and shot 41.1 percent from downtown, so he would provide the Mavs with a solid option to backup the oft-injured Raymond Felton.

Wed Apr 30 201416:08D.J. Augustin hopes he'll be back with Bulls
D.J. Augustin said on Wednesday he hopes to return to Chicago next season.
"I definitely want to be back," he said. "Hopefully, it works out." Augustin was signed by the Bulls mid-season after being waived by Toronto and became their leading scorer, posting an average of 14.9 points per game. However, his production dropped in the postseason and the Bulls were ousted in the first round. Augustin's fantasy value may have reached its peak this past season, and it will be worth monitoring which teams are interested in him this summer.

Tue Apr 29 201422:51D.J. Augustin shoots 1-of-10 in final game
D.J. Augustin scored four points on 1-of-10 shooting during the Bulls' Game 5 loss in Chicago, and the Bulls as a team shot a mere 33.3 percent from the field.
The Bulls and Wizards played at the slowest pace of any teams in the postseason, averaging 89.5 possessions per 48 minutes, and Chicago simply didn't have enough offensive firepower to win a seven-game series. This will be a big summer for the franchise with Derrick Rose (knee) rehabbing, Carlos Boozer possibly being amnestied, and free agency looming for Kirk Hinrich, Nazr Mohammed and Augustin.
