Sun Jan 12 201410:41Motiejunas angling for trade from Rockets
Donatas Motiejunas' agent is working with the Rockets to find a suitable trade before the February deadline.
"That's the thing - I like it here," said Motiejunas. "But it's not in my control. I think I did everything in my power to get on the court. If it's not happening then it's not happening [but] the management, Daryl [Morey] has to try to find a place where I can develop." A fortuitous trade could change his outlook, but for now Motiejunas is an unlikely source of fantasy value.

Thu Jan 9 201400:38Donatas Motiejunas getting playing time
Donatas Motiejunas played 10 minutes vs. the Lakers on Wednesday with six points, five boards and one block.
He was rumored to be going to the D-League, but those reports were shot down. Motiejunas is reportedly on the trade block and has been out of the rotation for the most part, so he'll have very little fantasy value.

Tue Jan 7 201419:13Donatas Motiejunas on the trade block
The Rockets have been calling teams in an effort to trade Donatas Motiejunas.
The Rockets have not played him in either of their last two games and there was a report of D-Mo going to the D-League on Monday. Motiejunas has really struggled on offense this season, making just 35.4 percent from the field, so there is very little reason to stash him in most fantasy leagues.

Mon Jan 6 201414:49Donatas Motiejunas sent to the D-League
Donatas Motiejunas has been assigned to the D-League.
The team has not announced it yet and it is expected to be official later Monday afternoon. Motiejunas hasn't played in the last two games of the season even without Greg Smith (knee) or Omer Asik (knee). He probably won't have fantasy value with the Rockets this season.

Fri Dec 27 201302:39Donatas Motiejunas plays 23 minutes
Donatas Motiejunas played 23 minutes against the Grizzlies in Thursday's 100-92 win, scoring four points with three rebounds, one assist and three blocks.
It was a season high in minutes for D-Mo and he's coming off three consecutive DNP-CDs before tonight. Dwight Howard's back stiffened up on him, so Motiejunas might be getting some minutes on Saturday against the Pelicans. He's only worth a speculative add in very deep leagues for now.

Sat Nov 16 201323:45Donatas Motiejunas scores 12 for Rockets
Donatas Motiejunas came off the bench to hit 5-of-6 shots and a 3-pointer for 12 points and three boards in 16 minutes.
With traded candidate Omer Asik benched and Greg Smith dealing with an injury, D-Mo got some run tonight. If you're in a very deep league, just keep an eye on him going forward.

Wed Oct 30 201312:43Rockets pick up option for Donatas Motiejunas
The Rockets picked up Donatas Motiejunas' third-year option on Wednesday.
Motie averaged 5.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in limited action as a rookie. He's in line for a bigger role this year, but Kevin McHale's decision to start Omer Asik at PF severely undercuts his potential. Even if Asik is eventually benched, or traded, Motiejunas will still face competition from Greg Smith, Terrence Jones and possibly Omri Casspi.

Thu Oct 10 201311:14Donatas Motiejunas looks good vs. Pacers
Donatas Motiejunas came off the bench for 16 points, three rebounds, a steal and a block on 7-of-12 shooting on Thursday.
He played 20 minutes and is starting to look like the team's starting power forward, although he'll continue to compete with Greg Smith for the job. With Smith sitting out due to a hip injury, and Motijunas playing so well, it looks like he has the advantage.

Sat Oct 5 201323:03Donatas Motiejunas quiet in start at PF
Donatas Motiejunas started at PF during the Rockets' preseason opener, finishing with four points (0-of-3 FGs), six rebounds, three assists, and six personal fouls.
Greg Smith wasn't available due to a minor hip injury, one more good reason not to read into Houston's starting five tonight. Motie has decent shooting range, making 28.9 percent of his 3-pointers last season, but he doesn't block shots and the prospect of a minute-share with Smith is enough to scare us away on draft day.

Fri Sep 13 201316:55Donatas Motiejunas scores 13 in victory
Donatas Motiejunas scored a game-high 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting, to go with four boards, one steal and one 3-pointer in Lithuania's 86-67 victory over Belgium on Friday.
He has averaged 5.1 points per game in the tournament and has taken a backseat to Jonas Valanciunas on the team. He will likely battle Greg Smith for a secondary role with the Rockets, but minutes may be hard to come by with Omer Asik also possibly playing along side Dwight Howard some.

Sat Mar 30 201322:59McHale unhappy, sends Motie to end of bench
Donatas Motiejunas was benched on Saturday, scoring four points in nine minutes, partly because Kevin McHale hasn't been happy with Motie's early foul trouble.
"D-Mo's got two fouls before he breaks a sweat," McHale said. "We're just going to try to see if we can't play [Motiejunas] a little differently." McHale also suggested that he started Greg Smith at PF to have more size vs. Blake Griffin and the Clippers, but that seems like the lesser of the two motivations. If you're still clinging to Motiejunas, it's truly time to let go.

Sat Mar 30 201300:40Motiejunas scores 16 points on Friday
Donatas Motiejunas scored 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds and no other stats in Friday's loss.
If you saw the big scoring number don't let it fool you. Motie has been unusable in normal formats since entering the starting lineup.

Thu Mar 21 201301:26Motiejunas quiet in win over Jazz
Donatas Motiejunas hit 2-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer for five points, five rebounds, a steal and a block in 26 minutes on Wednesday.
He's now scored five or fewer points in three straight games, making it tough to use him despite the solid minutes he's getting every night.

Fri Mar 15 201323:54Motie fizzles while Robinson disappears
Donatas Motiejunas fizzled out on Friday against the Wolves, scoring four points on 2-of-6 shooting with two rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes.
Motiejunas scored a career-high 19 points against the woeful Suns but this is more in line with what we've been seeing lately. Thomas Robinson has been worse, as the rookie played just six minutes tonight.

Thu Mar 14 201301:06Donatas Motiejunas with career-high 19
Donatas Motiejunas hit 7-of-12 shots and two 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 19 points, five rebounds and a block in Wednesday's blowout win over the Suns in 28 minutes.
He'd scored between seven and nine points over his previous four games and has been far from a must-start fantasy player. But he has had some nice lines at times this season and fantasy owners should continue to monitor him closely. But we'd like to see him do this a couple more times before declaring him a must-own player, as he's been anything but up to this point. Thomas Robinson had 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench in 20 minutes, but we're going to call it garbage time, as the Rockets won by 30.

Thu Mar 7 201300:00Donatas Motiejunas doesn't do much
Donatas Motiejunas played just 16 minutes against the Mavericks on Wednesday, scoring seven points with one rebound.
He's shown some discipline on offense and cut down on the mid-range Js, but the lack of defense could really hurt him at the power forward spot. Thomas Robinson played 28 minutes and this has all the makings of a timeshare. Owners in standard leagues can ignore this for now.

Mon Mar 4 201309:37Donatas Motiejunas adjusting to NBA speed
Donatas Motiejunas admitted that he's adjusting to the speed of the game in the NBA now that he's in a starting role.
"The first couple games were harder," Motiejunas said. "Now I'm kind of getting into shape. I will continue working in the weight room so my muscles get a tone. After the first couple games, my body feel a pain. The practice is not like a game." The good news is that Motiejunas has the right attitude, and this is good to hear after a career-high 33 minutes on Sunday.

Sun Mar 3 201323:24Motiejunas plays career-high 30 minutes
Donatas Motiejunas had eight points, eight rebounds and three assists in Sunday's 33-point win over Dallas.
Motie made 3-of-6 FGs with one 3-pointer. His line doesn't exactly jump out on a night when Houston scored 136 points, but he quietly played a career-high 30 minutes and shows no signs of relinquishing the starting PF job.

Fri Mar 1 201322:21Donatas Motiejunas scores 17 points Friday
Donatas Motiejuenas shot 7-of-12 from the field for 17 points with three boards, one assist and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes against the Magic on Friday.
It was his third game in a row with at least 11 points and he's also hit 1.3 triples per game in that span. Motiejunas does need some serious work on defense, but his offensive game is coming along nicely and he'll have very nice upside on a team with the fastest pace in the NBA. He's worth a look in standard leagues.

Fri Mar 1 201318:45Donatas Motiejunas starting once again
Donatas Motiejunas will start once again in Friday's game against the Magic.
Motiejunas has been pretty impressive over the last two games, averaging 12.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists while playing 24 minutes a night. For now, he's holding off the newly acquired Thomas Robinson. There's some deep-league appeal here.
