Sun Mar 4 201220:28Rudy Fernandez out again w/ aching back
Rudy Fernandez (back) will miss another game on Sunday, his sixth consecutive DNP.
Fernandez's return date continues to get pushed back -- it sounds like he's very close, but fantasy owners should ignore him until he's on the court and producing. And by the time that happens, Danilo Gallinari should be healthy and stealing his minutes.

Rudy Fernandez (back) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Rockets.
Fernandez has missed five straight games already. With Danilo Gallinari (ankle) seemingly close to a return, Fernandez's upside is going to be capped even once healthy.

Thu Mar 1 201207:19Rudy Fernandez could return by weekend
Rudy Fernandez (back) "could return this weekend."
Fernandez's timetable has been fluid throughout as he deals with a bad back. He's missed five straight games with the injury, but Fernandez is working his way toward a return in the near future. He's averaging 9.3 points, 1.1 steals and 1.3 treys in 24 minutes per game.

Wed Feb 29 201213:32Rudy Fernandez (back) still out on Wednesday
Rudy Fernandez (back) will not play on Wednesday against the Blazers.
Fernandez practiced on Tuesday and was expected to play, so either the Nuggets are being cautious with him or he aggravated the injury during practice. Either way, Fernandez won't play on Wednesday as a result. Corey Brewer, Al Harrington and Andre Miller should all pick up a few extra minutes in his absence.

Tue Feb 28 201219:30Rudy Fernandez back at practice for Nuggets
Rudy Fernandez practiced with the Nuggets on Tuesday and is expected to play on Wednesday against the Blazers.
He's been out with a back injury, but should be ready to go tomorrow night. Whether or not he's worth starting in fantasy leagues is up for debate, but given that he's coming off an injury, he should probably be on benches for now.

Fri Feb 24 201200:03Fernandez does not play on Thursday
Rudy Fernandez (back) did not play on Thursday against the Spurs.
Fernandez reportedly had some chance of playing but it wasn't in the cards tonight. If he can get healthy and Wilson Chandler doesn't land in Denver, then he has a puncher's chance at value off the bench for the Nuggets.

Thu Feb 23 201220:21Fernandez 'could' play Thursday vs. Spurs
Rudy Fernandez (back) "could" play on Thursday against the Spurs.
We'll have an update soon, but one way or another he'll be coming off the bench behind Arron Afflalo and Corey Brewer. He'll be a risky spot-play due to the time off and rust, but beyond those concerns he has a shot at being productive, if healthy.

Wed Feb 22 201207:25Rudy Fernandez questionable for Wednesday
Rudy Fernandez (back) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Clippers.
Fernandez has missed the last two games with the injury and may not be ready to return just yet. If he's unable to give it a go, Arron Afflalo and Corey Brewer would both likely see an increase in minutes.

Mon Feb 20 201220:15Fernandez (back) out on Monday vs. Wolves
Rudy Fernandez (back) will not play on Monday against the Wolves.
Fernandez's absence gives Arron Afflalo, Corey Brewer, and Andre Miller some breathing room. Given the time of the year, it's possible Fernandez is held out through the All Star break, too.

Mon Feb 20 201209:48Rudy Fernandez sidelined by back strain
Rudy Fernandez did not play Sunday due to a low back strain.
The Nuggets have listed Fernandez as day-to-day ahead of Monday's game against the Wolves. Despite Danilo Gallinari's (ankle) absence, Fernandez hadn't topped 21 minutes in any of his last four games.

Fri Feb 10 201200:40Rudy Fernandez struggles in start
Rudy Fernandez moved into the starting lineup on Thursday, but hit just 4-of-13 shots and a 3-pointer for nine points, four rebounds and five assists.
He won't shoot it this poorly on most night, but his starting job is in question with Corey Brewer due back from a personal leave on Saturday. We like Arron Afflalo a little better as a pickup, but if Fernandez keeps the starting gig while Danilo Gallinari is out for the next month, Fernandez will be better than this on most nights.

Thu Feb 9 201220:04Fernandez, Faried starting for Nuggets
Rudy Fernandez and Kenneth Faried are starting for the Nuggets on Thursday, replacing Julyan Stone and Chris Andersen, who started on Wednesday night.
The new lineup makes a lot more sense and owners who recently picked up Fernandez have to be thrilled. He had 17 points and two 3-pointers last night, and should continue to score a lot of points as a starter. They'll join Ty Lawson, Arron Afflalo and Nene in the starting unit tonight. As for Faried, deep-leaguers in need of rebounds should keep a real close eye on him.

Thu Feb 9 201202:00Rudy Fernandez plays well off bench
Rudy Fernandez came off the bench again on Wednesday, but played 29 minutes and had 17 points, three rebounds, an assist, a steal and two 3-pointers in the loss.
Julyan Stone technically started at shooting guard, but Arron Afflalo and Fernandez are the guys who are going to spend most of the time at the wings for as long as Danilo Gallinari is out with his ankle injury, which could be a month. Despite not starting, if you want to pick up Fernandez it's not a bad idea.

Tue Feb 7 201204:14Rudy hits 5-of-13 shots for 14 points
Rudy Fernandez scored 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting (1-of-7 from downtown) in the Nuggets' 99-90 loss to the Rockets on Monday, and also added two rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 35 minutes off the bench.
If Danilo Gallinari (foot/ankle) misses extended time, Fernandez could turn into a productive fantasy player in 8- and 9-cat formats. We're still not sure how long Gallo will be out, though, so Fernandez is a speculative add right now in 12-team formats.

Sat Jan 28 201202:48Fernandez scores season-high 23 points
Rudy Fernandez scored a season-high 23 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 9-of-11 shots from the field (including five threes) with one rebound, one assist, and three steals in 33 minutes.
Rudy was a recommended spot-play with Ty Lawson out, but with Lawson sounding like he could play on Sunday that may not be the case. Either way, if you're in a pinch give him a look because he's hot. Fernandez's hot streak tonight rendered Al Harrington (nine points, five rebounds, 3-of-10 FGs) and Corey Brewer (six points, five boards, 20 minutes) unnecessary.

Fri Jan 27 201213:59Rudy Fernandez will be able to play Friday
Rudy Fernandez (Achilles) will play on Friday against the Raptors.
Fernandez was previously listed as a game-time call but he's good to go after going through shootaround. He's averaging 8.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists this season but could see an uptick in the assists category with Ty Lawson (ankle) out and Andre Miller sliding into the starting five on Friday.

Thu Jan 26 201217:27Rudy Fernandez (Achilles) GTD for Friday
Rudy Fernandez (Achilles) has been announced as game-time decision for Friday.
Fernandez returned too early from the Achilles injury last Friday, and has missed the last two games because of it. We expect the Nuggets to give him as much time as needed to get his injury completely healed this time around. He's been much too inconsistent this year to be counted on in all but the deepest of leagues.

Tue Jan 24 201215:32Fernandez (Achilles) out for game at Sacto
Rudy Fernandez (Achilles) missed Nuggets practice on Tuesday and has been ruled out for Wednesday's game at Sacramento.
After Wednesday, Fernandez will have missed four of the last five games for Denver and Al Harrington and Andre Miller have both been playing great with the additional minutes. Continue to start Harrington and Miller with confidence right now.
