Tue Sep 6 202200:21Bo Bichette Homers Three Times Monday
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette had a massive day at the plate in Monday's doubleheader against the Orioles. Bichette went 3-for-5 with three singles, two RBI, and a strikeout in Game One's 7-3 win and 3-for-5 with three home runs, five RBI, and a strikeout in Game Two's 8-4 win. The big games helped boost the 24-year-old's season stats to a .272/.315/.451slash line with 21 HR, 78 RBI, and nine steals. While Bichette has been a solid fantasy player, he hasn't delivered quite as much as fantasy players had hoped, although there are still a few more weeks in the season for him to contribute.

Fri Aug 26 202211:05Bo Bichette Records Two Hits In Win Over Red Sox
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, a stolen base, a walk and two strikeouts in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Boston Red Sox. He's been very solid in the month of August, going 22-for-81 (.272) with three home runs, six doubles, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored in 20 games played. The 24-year-old youngster is slashing .261/.301/.424 overall on the season with 17 home runs, 66 RBI, 65 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 529 plate appearances over 121 games. He remains a must-start fantasy shortstop in single-year leagues the rest of the way in a strong Toronto lineup.

Tue Aug 16 202217:05Bo Bichette Hitting Seventh Against Orioles
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette is starting at the 6 and hitting seventh in the batting order on Tuesday against Baltimore Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer. This will be just the second time all year that Bichette has hit seventh in the lineup and just the 10th time that he's hit fifth or lower. In 11 games in the month of August, he has gone 12-for-44 (.273) with three home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored, so it's not as if Bichette has been terrible at the plate lately. Overall, the 24-year-old is hitting .260/.301/.430 with 17 home runs, 64 RBI, 62 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 461 at-bats. Bichette remains a must-start in season-long leagues, but the drop to the seven hole on Tuesday will lower his DFS appeal.

Sat Jul 30 202212:17George Springer, Bo Bichette Return Saturday
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (elbow) and shortstop Bo Bichette (shoulder) are both back in the starting lineup on Saturday against Detroit Tigers right-hander Drew Hutchison. Springer is serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff, while Bichette is at shortstop while hitting cleanup. Springer and Bichette both missed Friday's loss, but there injuries were never serious and they will both only miss one game. Fantasy managers should return them both to their starting lineups. Springer is hitting. 254 with 18 homers, 47 RBI and 10 stolen bases on the year, while Bichette is hitting .261 with 14 long balls, 53 RBI and seven stolen bases in 410 at-bats.

Fri Jul 29 202216:20Bo Bichette Out With Sore Shoulder
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette (shoulder) collided with outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in left field on Thursday night, and his left shoulder is sore. He's considered day-to-day and is out of the starting lineup on Friday against the Detroit Tigers. Interim manager John Schneider said Bichette is available off the bench, so the injury obviously isn't very serious. With the 24-year-old getting a day off, Santiago Espinal will move to shortstop and hit eighth in the lineup against Tigers right-hander Bryan Garcia, with Cavan Biggio starting at second and leading off. Espinal was a first-time All-Star this year and is hitting .270 with six home runs, 40 RBI, 39 runs scored and five stolen bases in 96 games, but he won't have a ton of upside near the bottom of Toronto's lineup.

Wed Jul 27 202208:06Bo Bichette Doubles Twice In Tuesday's Win
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette helped the team rout the St. Louis Cardinals 10-3 on Tuesday. He went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a pair of runs in the game. The 24-year-old owns a .259/.305/.421 slash line on the year and he's compiled 14 home runs, seven stolen bases, 52 RBI and 55 runs across 96 games. It's been a disappointing output, considering he racked up 29 homers, 25 stolen bases, 102 RBI and 121 runs last year while posting an .828 OPS. His hard-contact metrics are mostly all right where they were last year, but his strikeout rate has ballooned up from 19.9% last year to 24.7% this year. We'll see if he can cut down on those strikeouts over the second half of the 2022 season.

Fri Jun 17 202216:14Bo Bichette Not Playing Friday
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette (leg) is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the New York Yankees. Bichette left the game early on Thursday against the Baltimore Orioles with a right leg injury after going 1-for-3. The good news is that X-rays came back negative, so he should be considered day-to-day for now. Hopefully, the 24-year-old will be able to get into a game at some point this weekend against the Yankees. Santiago Espinal will start at the 6 on Friday and bat second against Yankees left-hander Jordan Montgomery. Espinal has been great in June, going 22-for-59 (.373) with three home runs and 13 RBI in 15 games, so he'll be a popular DFS target in the two-hole.

Tue Jun 14 202208:42Bo Bichette Goes 2-For-5 In Win Over Orioles
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette helped lead the team to a 11-1 route of the Baltimore Orioles on Monday. He went 2-for-5 with a run scored in the game. Bichette has been hot at the plate lately. He's now recorded multiple hits in five of his last six games and he's slashing .320/.404/.540 across the month of June as a whole. The 24-year-old got off to a slow start to the year. As a result, his season-long slash line of .270/.316/.448 is a bit underwhelming. However, his 10 home runs on the year have him on a solid 162-game pace of 27 homers and his 92.2 mph average exit velocity is a career-best mark, ranking in the 93rd percentile of the league.

Sat Jun 4 202209:45Bo Bichette Doubles, Scores A Run On Friday
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the team's 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Friday. The 24-year-old closed out the month of May with a hot streak at the plate. He recorded multiple hits in five of his last six games of May, compiling five doubles and a home run over the six-game stretch. Across 51 games on the year, Bichette is slashing .254/.296/.418 with seven home runs, four stolen bases, 26 RBI and 26 runs. While those surface stats are a bit underwhelming given Bichette's track record, fantasy managers should expect better times ahead. His underlying stats are mostly all right where they were last year, including his 89th percentile average exit velocity (91.6 mph) and 92nd percentile hard-hit rate (50%).

Thu May 26 202209:32Bo Bichette Slashing .271/.319/.494 In May
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette has had a nice turnaround at the plate this month after struggling in April. He opened the year with a .213/.237/.298 slash line and just four extra-base hits (two homers, two doubles) in April. However, in May, he's slashed .271/.319/.494 while tallying seven doubles and four home runs. Given the high expectations this year for the 24-year-old, Bichette's start to the year has been a bit underwhelming. However, fantasy managers have no reason to be concerned. The majority of his underlying stats are right where they were last year, when he was a fantasy stud. With his 83rd percentile average exit velocity (91.1 mph) and his 84th percentile xBA (.289), we expect to see better numbers from Bichette across the board going forward.

Thu May 19 202208:22Bo Bichette Tallies Four Hits In Series Versus Mariners
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in the final game of the team's three-game series against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. Bichette had a big game in the series opener on Monday, going 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored. He then singled and stole a base in Game 2 of the series. Overall, Bichette has fared better at the plate in May than in April. He's tallied seven extra-base hits while posting an .808 OPS in May. Last month, he only managed four extra-base hits and had a .535 OPS. Bichette and the Blue Jays are off on Thursday, then the team begins a three-game home series against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday.

Wed May 11 202209:42Bo Bichette Reaches Base Twice In Tuesday's Loss
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette went 1-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout in the team's 6-5 loss to the New York Yankees on Tuesday. He has now reached base at least once in eight of nine games in May and he's slashing .306/.359/.500 across the first third of the month. Bichette is slugging just .354 on the year, which is well below his career slugging percentage of .488. However, he has an xSLG of .465, which is only slightly lower than his career .489 xSLG. Additionally, he is currently maintaining a career-high 50.5% hard-hit rate, up from 47.5% last year. While Bichette's .238 batting average and three home runs over 31 games aren't the metrics fantasy managers were hoping to see right now, we expect better days ahead for the 24-year-old.

Tue May 3 202208:47Bo Bichette Goes 2-For-4 In Monday's Loss
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and two strikeouts in the team's 3-2 loss to the New York Yankees on Monday. This was the sixth multi-hit outing of the year for the 24-year-old, who has still yet to settle in at the plate. Through 24 games this season, Bichette is slashing .225/.248/.343 with three home runs, three stolen bases, 11 RBI and 11 runs. Fantasy managers should be confident that Bichette's surface numbers will start looking better soon. He's currently maintaining career-high clips in both average exit velocity (92.7 mph) and hard-hit rate (54.8%) and he has a .291 xBA. He's just been plagued by a career-high 2.41 ground ball to fly ball rate this year, up substantially from his career mark of 1.56.

Mon Apr 25 202209:27Bo Bichette Fans Six Times Over The Weekend
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette remained in a bit of a funk offensively this past weekend against the Houston Astros. Across the three-game series, he went 2-for-11 for two walks and six strikeouts. The 24-year-old now has a 28.2% strikeout rate on the year, up significantly from 19.9% last year. Meanwhile, his two walks over this past weekend were his first two walks of the year. His walk rate on the season is just 2.8%. Bichette is hitting just .217 over 16 games this year, but he has an xBA of .274, so he's likely been a bit unlucky, but it would also certainly help to see him start cutting his strikeouts down soon.

Sat Apr 16 202221:21Bo Bichette Still Struggling At The Plate
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette failed to get a hit during Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Oakland Athletics. He went 0-for-4 and is now 8-for-41 to start the season with one home run and no stolen bases. To make matters worse, Bichette's struck out 10 times without a walk. Aside from his first nine games this season, the 24-year-old has found lots of success in the big leagues. He has a career .840 OPS, and last year he slashed .298/.343/.484 with 29 HRs, 121 runs, and 102 RBI in 159 games. Even though Bichette has yet to steal a base, he compiled 25 in 2021, so the run game will come. Fantasy managers can expect the native of Orlando to bounce back from a tough start and contribute in all five categories again.

Sat Apr 9 202208:24Bo Bichette Not Discussing Extension Right Now
Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette is still in the midst of his rookie contract with his first year of arbitration coming next year. Bichette was asked by Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet whether he and the team have discussed an extension. Bichette stated that he and the club had had some talks this offseason, but added, "Right now we're focused on the season and accomplishing what we think we're capable of. Right now, we're not talking." The 24-year-old is coming off a fantastic season in which he slashed .298/.343/.484 with 29 home runs, 25 stolen bases, 102 RBI and 121 runs. More likely than not, extension talks won't pick up again until after this season.

Sun Feb 20 202213:42Bo Bichette Having Normal Offseason
Despite Major League Baseball's lockout since early December, Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette said his ramp-up before spring training has been largely unchanged. Bichette has been getting swings in a batting cage and at a local high school field with teammates Danny Jansen, Teoscar Hernandez and Santiago Espinal. He has also worked closely with his father and former big-leaguer, Dante Bichette, after he resigned from his role as Blue Jays special assistant during the lockout. The 23-year-old really impressed in his first full season in the majors in 2021, hitting .298 with 29 home runs, 102 RBI, 121 runs and 25 stolen bases in 159 games. Bichette loses some luster in leagues that count on-base percentage due to a low walk rate, but his incredible 2021 campaign has made him a mid-first-round pick in fantasy drafts.
