Sun Jan 8 201216:27Devin Ebanks has to improve his rebounding
Coach Mike Brown said that Devin Ebanks has to do a better job rebounding if he wants to increase his role in the rotation.
Ebanks has fallen out of favor since winning the starting small forward job at the onset of the season. Brown wants to see more than the 3.4 rebounds per game Ebanks has averaged, and the young forward admitted that he's overthinking and lacking confidence on the court right now. He has been a DNP-Coach's Decision in four of his last five heading into Sunday's game against the Grizzlies.

Fri Jan 6 201207:28Devin Ebanks frustrated with reduced role
Devin Ebanks is frustrated with his reduced role after beginning the season as the starting small forward.
"It's a little block in the road right now and the key is to keep working hard," he said. Ebanks played 17 minutes on Thursday after not playing in three consecutive games (coach's decision) and can be safely left on waiver wires.

Sat Dec 31 201118:00Devin Ebanks picks up DNP-CD on Saturday
Devin Ebanks went from being the Lakers' starting SF to picking up a DNP-CD on Saturday.
Ebanks has fallen behind Matt Barnes and Metta World Peace, and the experiment is officially over. He could emerge with a role in the rotation before long, but isn't going to help fantasy owners.

Fri Dec 30 201103:47Ebanks plays 14 minutes on Thursday
Devin Ebanks saw his playing time cut to 14 minutes on Thursday, and was held scoreless on one shot attempt with three rebounds and a block.
We may be seeing the impact of Matt Barnes' return to the rotation independently of Ebanks' performance, or his lack of production finally caught up with him. Either way, Ebanks is not worth tracking in fantasy leagues anymore.

Wed Dec 28 201102:57Ebanks still little more than a placeholder
Devin Ebanks missed on all four of his field goal attempts on Tuesday, but was perfect on six attempts from the foul line and finished with six points, three rebounds, and two steals in 26 minutes of action.
Ebanks gained a few minutes due to Matt Barnes' hip injury, but on the whole he hasn't done anything to excite fantasy owners this week. He very well might improve down the road, but owners in standard sized leagues should take a pass until Ebanks shows some signs of life.

Tue Dec 27 201103:02Ebanks plays 19 minutes in second start
Devin Ebanks played just 19 minutes on Monday, scoring six points on 3-of-4 shooting with six rebounds, one assist, and one block.
For those stashing Ebanks on a flier, the expectation shouldn't be that he's going to take starter's minutes anytime soon. Though with the way Matt Barnes' cheap and dirty tactics make his ineffectiveness not worth the price, it's possible Ebanks could gobble up more minutes. Regardless, you can do better than Ebanks for a roster stash in standard formats.

Sun Dec 25 201120:28Devin Ebanks scores eight points in start
Starting at SF for the Lakers on Sunday, Devin Ebanks had eight points (4-of-5 FGs), one rebound and two assists in 23 minutes.
Ebanks beat out Metta World Peace and Matt Barnes for the starting gig during preseason, and we're willing to defer judgment until he's played in a week's worth of games. He played just five minutes per game in 20 appearances as a rookie last season, but has unusual poise and patience on the court. Stash him on your bench and see what happens.

Fri Dec 23 201123:40Kobe rates Ebanks' offensive game vs. Ariza
Kobe Bryant rated Devin Ebanks' offensive game as better than Trevor Ariza's in comments made on Friday.
Ebanks has flown up the depth chart and is worth keeping an eye on if Kobe's words are more than just motivation for the youngster. That said, he'll still have a tough road to hoe with Matt Barnes and Metta World Peace to contend with.

Fri Dec 23 201117:36Ebanks named surprise Lakers starter at SF
In a bit of a surprise, Lakers head coach Mike Brown indicated that Devin Ebanks will start at small forward for the Lakers on Sunday.
Ebanks has won the starting SF gig over Matt Barnes and Metta World Peace. Although Ebanks may deserve a late-round flier pick based on his new starting role, he probably won't provide much fantasy value this season.

Thu Dec 22 201103:11Ebanks challenging Barnes for starting gig
Devin Ebanks got hot early and hit 4-of-6 shots for eight points and two rebounds Wednesday.
Matt Barnes committed four TOs in just 11 minutes, finishing with three points. The two are battling for the starting SF job with the Lakers, and while Ebanks was nice tonight, neither player is all that attractive in fantasy. But with six games in Week 1, Kobe Bryant hurting (wrist) and Andrew Bynum sidelined (suspension), both players could be sneaky deep-league starts.

Tue Dec 20 201121:04No major damage to Ebanks' achilles
An MRI on Devin Ebanks' sore achilles showed no major damage and he is day-to-day with a sore right foot.
The Lakers couldn't really afford to lose another forward, so this is great news for all concerned.

Tue Dec 20 201102:14Ebanks continues to impress in preseason
Devin Ebanks scored seven points on 3-of-3 shooting (including a three) with one rebound and a steal in 12 minutes off the bench.
Ebanks is getting a blurb because he is favored to play 20+ minutes per game this season as a backup wing. In a 16-20 team leagues, he deserves consideration as a late round flier pick.

Devin Ebanks is expected to miss another three weeks after an MRI revealed that the stress fracture in his leg is improving but not quite fully healed.
Ebanks' absence has hardly been noticed as the Lakers are absolutely rolling since the All-Star Break. Needless to say, he has no fantasy value.

Lakers rookie Devin Ebanks will miss at least three weeks with a stress fracture in his lower leg.
Ebanks spent some time in the D-League and hasn't been part of L.A.'s rotation, so fantasy owners shouldn't even notice his absence.

The Lakers are recalling forward Devin Ebanks from the D-League.
Matt Barnes had an MRI on his knee today, the results of which aren't known, but this seems like an indication that Barnes will miss some time. Don't look for fantasy value from Ebanks, even in the deepest leagues.
