Barajas sat out Thursday's game after hurting his right wrist when trying to block a wild pitch by Jenrry Mejia on Wednesday. "It's sore, it's tender," Barajas said. "It doesn't feel too great. It's probably just a bruise. The X-rays were negative. The bones are fine. The pain's pretty intense when I try to turn my wrist over." Henry Blanco will start if Barajas is unable to go. |

Barajas is one of the most unlikely success stories of the young season. He's hitting .308 with five homers and 16 RBI in May, a streak that will surely come to an end any day now. Owners squeezing life out of Barajas should have their eyes on Carlos Gonzalez or Buster Posey. |

The Rangers have a pressing need for a catcher, but they'll probably be waiting for a while if they want Barajas, as the Mets will not waive the white flag for a couple months, if at all. Barajas has thrived in his brief time with the Mets, batting .269/.299/.571 with 10 homers and 24 RBI over his first 119 at-bats. Entering Friday's action, Rangers' backstops were batting a combined .204/.297/.307 with four homers and 15 RBI. |
