RHP Oliver Drake fired 1 1/3 scoreless innings at the Dodgers in relief Friday and now has four consecutive scoreless outings,getting four outs in two of them. Going back to July 25, Drake has not given up a run in seven of his last eight outings.

RHP Oliver Drake allowed a run in two innings in his Brewers debut on Friday night with four strikeouts. He was acquired from Baltimore for a player to be named or cash late Thursday. Drake made 27 relief appearances in the past seasons for the Orioles, including three this season. Manager Craig Counsell said Drake's repertoire of pitches will add variety to the Brewers' bullpen. "He's a little different than Jhan (Marinez) and Jared (Hughes), who rely more heavily on the sinker," Counsell said. "Oliver is more of a north-south guy with the split-finger. Little different style of right-hander pitcher which is helpful."

Drake came up from Norfolk when rosters expanded Tuesday, but he'll now head back down after appearing in three games and allowing six hits and two earned runs. The right-hander remains on the 40-man roster and could return to Baltimore later in the season.

Drake was dominant at Triple-A Norfolk this season, posting a .82 ERA across 44 innings of work. "He's been able to throw his split-finger ahead in the count and behind in the count. When you throw that split-finger for a strike, you have a chance to get a lot of outs. His numbers are off the charts for the Triple-A level. They really are," said director of player development Brian Graham. Drake will provide a solid right-handed arm out of the bullpen in September.

Drake is a strong candidate to be called up in September, MASN Sports reports.

Drake is 21-for-21 in save opportunities at Triple-A with 60 strikeouts in 39 innings and he already had a five game stint with the Orioles this season. Drake has come out of nowhere as a 43rd-round draft choice in 2008 and has been lights out at Double-A and Triple-A since 2013.

Drake (oblique) has tossed five scoreless innings and is 3-for-3 in saves at Triple-A since returning from his injury late in July.

Drake has lowered his Triple-A ERA to 0.53 on the season and he will get a second look at the MLB level in September at the latest.

Drake was placed on the DL at Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday.

Drake will hit the DL - retroactive to July 7 - with a torso muscle strain. The issue is not expected to sideline him for an extended period of time.

Drake was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.

Drake served in middle relief during a late-May stint with the club, and the team will look to deploy him in a similar role this time around. He'll take the roster spot of Saturday's starter, Kevin Gausman, who was optioned to Norfolk in a corresponding move.

Drake was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

Drake allowed three earned runs on six walks and five hits over five games and 7.2 innings with the Orioles. The club has instead recalled T.J. McFarland to likely provide long relief out of the bullpen.

Drake tossed a scoreless inning and picked up a hold in Monday's win over the Astros.

Drake pitched three shutout innings in his MLB debut Saturday and followed it up with another strong inning Monday. He allowed just two runs while recording 30 strikeouts and four walks in 18.2 innings with Triple-A Norfolk, so if Drake continues to perform, he has a chance to stick around for a while with the Orioles.

Drake has been called up by the Orioles, ESPN's Buster Olney reports.

Drake has been fantastic at Triple-A Norfolk in 2015, throwing a 0.96 ERA with a 14.5 K/9. He figures to be used in lower leverage situations with Baltimore with the top of their bullpen fairly cemented.
