Fri Oct 29 201001:42Childress still struggling with finger injury
Josh Childress scored just two points on one 1-for-1 shooting with three rebounds, no assists, and two steals in 19 minutes on Thursday.
He should be nowhere near lineups right now and if you're in a standard sized league you should probably be cutting bait for a hot free agent. We expect him to improve as his finger heals, but at this time of year you want to set your sights on possible studs that went undrafted.
Wed Oct 27 201001:52Childress quiet in debut for Suns
Josh Childress hit 2-of-4 shots in 17 minutes to finish with four points in Tuesday's loss.
If you're holding Chill and want to drop him for Nicolas Batum, we're on board. Childress' broken finger could hinder him for the first few weeks of the season, but at least he played tonight.
Tue Oct 26 201015:11Josh Childress will debut on Tuesday
Suns swingman Josh Childress will make his Suns debut in Tuesday's season-opening game despite suffering a right index finger fracture a week ago.
"He's going to try it," said Suns coach Alvin Gentry. "He's got the Kobe Bryant wrap on it." Childress has some deep sleeper appeal, but fantasy owners might as well watch him play in a few games before picking him up.

Mon Oct 25 201016:05Childress a game-time decision for opener
Josh Childress said Monday he's a game-time decision for Tuesday with a broken bone in his right index finger.
He practiced with a splint on Monday and is still in a lot of pain. He's been dropped in many leagues, but once he feels better and starts going at full strength, he's a decent option in most leagues.

Wed Oct 20 201001:16Josh Childress breaks finger tip Tuesday
Josh Childress missed all three of his shots, finishing with three points and five rebounds Tuesday before leaving the game with a fractured right finger tip.
He plans on trying to play through the injury, but a fractured finger tip in his shooting hand does not bode well for his success. Stay tuned, and look at another deep sleeper at your draft, given this news.

Sun Oct 17 201016:35Childress contributes 12 off the bench
Josh Childress played 26 minutes off the bench on Sunday, going 6-of-9 from the field to score 12 points, mixing in four rebounds and three assists.
Although not a starter, Childress will still receive significant minutes in a fantasy-friendly offense and thus deserves a late-round selection. He should be good for double-digit points and four-plus rebounds on a nightly basis.
Thu Oct 7 201001:21Childress struggles, but he's not alone
Josh Childress had nine points, three rebounds, a steal and a block in Wednesday's crazy 51-point loss to the Raptors.
Childress has been stellar in training camp and is going to have a big role with the Suns this season. Consider taking a flier on him late in your draft, especially since he's going to contribute in nearly all eight categories for a team that is looking to get out and run.
Wed Sep 29 201010:51Josh Childress asked to shoot more 3s
Josh Childress said that he's being asked to shoot more 3-pointers to spread the court for the Suns.
Childress is a career 36.1% shooter from downtown, though we haven't seen him in the NBA since 2007-08. He's a high-percentage scorer with decent versatility -- if he adds substantial 3-point totals he could be a nice fantasy sleeper in Phoenix.

Wed Jul 14 201012:05Childress deal to Suns now official

The Hawks get a trade exception and second-round pick in the deal, while the Suns get a solid and experienced player who can roll on both ends of the floor.

Sun Jul 11 201023:33Suns acquire Josh Childress in sign-and-trade
The Suns have acquired Josh Childress in a sign-and-trade deal with the Hawks, who get back a second-round pick in 2012. The deal is worth at least $30 million over five years.
Childress averaged 11.1 points in four seasons with Atlanta, shooting 52% from the field and 36% on 3-pointers. He should be a seamless addition to the Suns' attack, and minutes-played might ultimately determine his fantasy worth.

Sun Jul 11 201022:13Suns will make offer to Josh Childress
The Suns are expected to make an offer to restricted free agent Josh Childress, which the Hawks will have a week to match.
Atlanta is spread thin financially and isn't expected to match, so if Childress signs the Suns' offer sheet he's likely Phoenix-bound.

Sat Jul 10 201017:51Cavs mullingoffer to FA Josh Childress
The Cavaliers are considering make an offer to Hawks restricted free agent Josh Childress.
This isn't too surprising as Cleveland's roster has a LeBron-shaped hole at SF. The Wizards and a few other teams may also be interested in Childress, but financial concerns basically guarantee the Hawks can't match any offer.

Fri Jul 2 201001:56Josh Childress now a hot free agent
Josh Childress, who spent the last two seasons in Greece, is suddenly a hot commodity on the free-agent market.
Once the Hawks lock Joe Johnson into a max deal, the Hawks will find it nearly impossible to match an offer sheet on Childress. We keep seeing his name tied to the Wizards, but several other teams will also be on a Childress hunt. In any case, it appears that there's almost no chance he'll be with the Hawks next season.
Fri Jun 25 201000:26Hawks make qualifying offer to Childress
The Hawks made a qualifying offer to Josh Childress late Thursday, making him a restricted free agent.
This is hardly news, but it will be interesting to see if the Hawks are willing to match any offer he receives. Rumors are floating that the Wizards are thinking about making an offer to him.

Thu Jun 24 201014:48Childress may get an offer from Wizards
The Wizards are said to be prepared to make an offer to restricted free agent Josh Childress.
The Hawks will have the right to match it, but may not do so if they're going to retain Joe Johnson, or go after another big-named free agent.

Mon Jun 21 201013:15Childress leaning toward returning to NBA
Josh Childress is likely going to return to the NBA this season, but whether he'll play for the Hawks is up for debate.
He reportedly would rather sign an offer sheet with another team that the Hawks would be unable to match. The team hasn't extended a qualifying offer to Childress, but GM Rick Sund has said they will. Atlanta may not have the money to match any other offers for Childress if they re-sign Joe Johnson, but Johnson's return to the Hawks is far from guaranteed.

Sun Jun 6 201019:27Greek finals cut short after another riot
The Greek league finals were cut short on Sunday when agitated Olympiakos fans broke out into a near-riot, throwing plastic bottles, arena seats which they had ripped out, and even a flare directed at players and coaching staff of rival Panathinaikos.
Disturbingly, the same exact thing happened last season when these two teams clashed in the playoffs. The incident took place in Olympiakos' home stadium and they will likely face a harsh penalty from league authorities. The game even started 40 minutes late after more than 200 fans without tickets invaded the arena and clashed with riot police, who used tear gas. The abandonment, just 1:03 before the end, handed Panathinaikos its eighth consecutive Greek title and 12th in the last 13 seasons.
Thu May 13 201014:17Hawks will extend offer to Childress
The Hawks will extend a qualifying offer to restricted free agent Josh Childress, who has played in Greece the past two seasons.
Childress must opt out of his contract with Olympiakos by July 15 if he wants to play in the NBA for the 2010-11 season. The Hawks can also use him in a sign-and-trade, though first Childress has to decide whether he wants to return.

Sat May 8 201010:25Josh Childress leaning toward NBA again?
Josh Childress hasn't decided whether to return to the NBA as a restricted FA this summer -- he has one season left on his three-year deal with the Greek team Olympiacos.
According to the Washington Post, "Greek journalists ... were virtually unanimous in predicting that he will [leave Europe this summer]." The Hawks still have the right to match any offer Childress gets from an NBA team.

Sat Apr 24 201010:39Josh Childress improving game in Greece
Since leaving to play in Greece, Josh Childress has reportedly become tougher, a better shooter, and a more versatile decision-maker.
Childress has yet to decide whether he'll fulfill the third year of his contract in Greece, or return to the NBA as a restricted FA with the Hawks.
