Fri Dec 14 201223:09Ed Davis cools off with only six and eight
Ed Davis cooled off on Friday with six points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal in 23 minutes against the Mavericks.
The Raptors rode the hot hand of Linas Kleiza tonight, which came at the expense of Davis. Davis is coming off Wednesday's 24-point, 12-rebound explosion, so we still like his prospects with Andrea Bargnani out indefinitely. Those that picked up Davis should give him a little bit more leash after tonight's mildly disappointing game.

Wed Dec 12 201222:16Ed Davis answers call with 24 & 12
Ed Davis started in place of Andrea Bargnani (out indefinitely, elbow) and had a season-high 24 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and zero blocks in 45 minutes, while hitting 11-of-13 shots in a loss to the Nets.
As we've been saying, it's officially time to pick up Davis, as he should continue to see heavy minutes and solid production with Bargnani possibly sidelined for a month or two with his injury. Run, don't walk, to get him.

Wed Dec 12 201211:50Ed Davis gets his time to shine on Wednesday
Dwane Casey said that Ed Davis will get "his time to shine" on Wednesday.
The Raptors only have eight healthy bodies for Wednesday's game against Brooklyn. Davis is coming off a 14-point, nine-rebound game in 24 minutes on Monday and should be owned in most standard leagues while Andrea Bargnani is out. It's also worth noting that Amir Johnson is third in the league in fouls per game despite playing just 20.5 minutes per contest.

Tue Dec 11 201201:05Davis goes for 14 and nine in loss to POR
Ed Davis scored 14 points on 3-of-7 shooting (8-of-8 FTs) with nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 24 minutes off the bench on Monday against the Blazers.
Davis could get a chance to make his case to Dwane Casey with Andrea Bargnani leaving due to an elbow injury and Amir Johnson staring down a suspension after throwing his mouthpiece at a ref. He's worth a long look as a speculative add with this window of opportunity opening.

Fri Dec 7 201221:55Ed Davis dislocates finger on Friday
Ed Davis went to the locker room after dislocating his finger in Friday's game against Raptors.
We went to the ground to fight for a loose ball and his finger went in a direction it wasn't meant to go. He'll likely get X-rays to check for a break. Jonas Valanciunas, Andrea Bargnani and Amir Johnson might play a little more while Davis is out. Stay tuned.

Thu Dec 6 201210:47Ed Davis credits improvement to improved body
Ed Davis credits his improvement this offseason to a change in his offseason regimen.
Davis had 13 points, 11 boards and a block on Wednesday, and he's averaging 6.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in just 16 minutes per game this season. He dropped fat but added muscle, which has made him a more effective rebounder. His per-minute production is solid, but he needs to get consistent minutes for fantasy owners to trust him.

Thu Dec 6 201202:28Ed Davis double-doubles in loss to Kings
Ed Davis had 13 points, 11 rebounds and a block in Wednesday's loss.
He came in averaging seven points and eight rebounds over his previous three games, and this was his second double-double of the season. The potential is there, but he would have to supplant Jonas Valanciunas (16 minutes tonight) in the starting lineup to be worth a pick up in most leagues. But it could happen at any time.

Fri Nov 30 201222:23Davis plays 21 minutes off the bench
Ed Davis scored four points on 2-of-4 shooting with eight rebounds, three assists, and one block in 21 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Suns.
Davis is outplaying starter Andrea Bargnani according to some Raptors beat writers, but it's going to take a swallowing of pride for Bryan Colangelo and Co. to change their ways. Until Davis can get consistent minutes, he shouldn't be on rosters in standard formats.

Thu Nov 29 201200:18Ed Davis starts and scores 10 vs. Memphis
Ed Davis drew a start for the injured Andrea Bargnani (ankle) and had 10 points, six rebounds and one block in 28 minutes vs. the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Coach Dwane Casey said Davis would see more minutes, but this wasn't really the way most had in mind. He's an above-average rebounder and it looks like he will only have value in deeper leagues while Andrea Bargnani is out of the lineup. Although, Bargnani could miss more time with his ankle injury.

Wed Nov 28 201207:36Casey confirms Ed Davis will get more minutes
Raptors coach Dwane Casey confirmed that Ed Davis will be "rewarded" with increased minutes.
Davis has now played about 21 minutes in back-to-back games and is averaging 13.5 points and nine rebounds on 11-of-17 shooting. His per-minute production has been solid this season, but he'll need to show consistency in order for fantasy owners to trust him.

Sun Nov 25 201218:18Ed Davis puts up biggest game of the year
Ed Davis had season highs with 15 points and 14 rebounds in his 22 minutes against the Spurs on Sunday.
He shot 7-of-11 from the field and he was very active on the offensive glass with eight on that end of the floor. He averaged just 13.1 minutes per game entering today's game, so he'll need a couple more solid outing to have our attention in standard leagues.

Sat Nov 17 201215:53Ed Davis leads charge for Toronto bigs
Ed Davis played 21 minutes off the bench and had seven points, nine rebounds, one steal and one block against the Celtics in Saturday's loss.
Amir Johnson rode the bench for most of the game and logged 16 minutes with just one point and three rebounds. This is shaping up to be messy, but what else is new with Dwane Casey's rotation?

Ed Davis (back) returned to action on Monday, playing 12 minutes with two points, five rebounds, and one assist.
Davis looked good in Summer League and has shown some promise throughout his career, but he's currently on the bottom of a five-person rotation for two frontcourt positions. In most formats, owners will want to file his name away for later use on the waiver wire.

Sun Oct 21 201213:31Ed Davis (back) expects to play Monday
Ed Davis (back) practiced fully on Sunday and said he will play in Monday's game vs. the Bucks.
Davis' fantasy outlook is dimmed by all the bodies clogging the Raptors' frontcourt -- he'll be scrapping for playing time with Amir Johnson, as usual, in addition to newcomer Jonas Valanciunas.

Fri Oct 19 201221:31Ed Davis held out after hard fall
Ed Davis did not play in Friday's exhibition game due to a hard fall he took in prior action during the week.
Davis was held out for precautionary reasons but we'll track the injury, nonetheless. If not for the log-jam in the Raptors' frontcourt, Davis would have some sleeper appeal but he's only on the radar in deeper formats.

Wed Oct 17 201219:04Raptors pick up option for Ed Davis
The Raptors picked up their fourth-year option for F/C Ed Davis on Wednesday.
Davis will earn $3.2 million next season. He's reportedly stronger and in better shape this year, but his fantasy outlook is clouded by the Raptors' bounty of big men, including Amir Johnson (owed $12.5 million over the next two years), Jonas Valanciunas, Andrea Bargnani and Aaron Gray.
