Thu Jun 4 201514:49Davis productive bench player in first year with Lakers
Davis was a productive bench player in his first year with the Lakers. He averaged 8.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.6 steals, 1.2 blocks, and 23 minutes per game in 79 games during the 2014-15 season.
Davis will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason after the best statistical year of his career. Although he had a bench role for most of the season (55 games), he worked his way into the starting lineup for almost a third of the Lakers' games (24). Davis has expressed that it is more important for him to feel comfortable and have a staff that appreciates him rather than sign wherever he is offered the most money. The Lakers' coaching staff has put their confidence in Davis, and it appears he is interested in re-signing. Davis has shown that given substantial minutes, he could grow into a double-double machine while keeping up his block numbers on the defensive end. If Davis is able to see an increase in minutes wherever he signs, his production looks to be on the upswing, and next season his value could rise.

Davis will be available off the bench for Monday's game against the Kings.
Davis was originally going to start Monday's game but coach Byron Scott decided to make a last second change before tipoff and used Jordan Hill instead.

Davis will sit out Sunday to rest, Mike Trudell of TWC SportsNet reports.
Without Davis or teammate Carlos Boozer in the lineup Sunday, look for Jordan Hill to get plenty of run, since he is coming back and should be fully rested.

Davis scored 16 points (6-7 FG, 4-4 FT), to go with nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block in 24 minutes on Sunday.
He was close to getting a double-double in this one, but he fell just short. He made good work in only 24 minutes, and he's showing he can put up the kind of numbers he was posting earlier this season. Jordan Hill is expected to be out until mid-February so Davis is a good fill in for those that need a power forward.

Davis had a career-high 20 rebounds to go with seven points (2-8 FG, 3-4 FT) and three assists in 33 minutes in the overtime loss to the Bucks on Wednesday.
Davis was all over the offensive glass with nine rebounds on that end of the court. He teamed well with Carlos Boozer against the slight Bucks' frontcourt. His previous high this season was 14 boards, so this performance was an outlier.

Davis scored nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 FT), to go with five rebounds, four assists, and a block in 22 minutes off the bench on Sunday.
Davis may find himself playing extended minutes, as Jordan Hill suffered a hip flexor injury. However, he started to fall into coach Byron Scott's doghouse toward the end of January. If he can motivate himself to play at the level he was at during the end of December then he may find value. But he's a wait and see option for the time being.

Davis was moved to a bench role Friday, scoring six points (3-5 FG) with four rebounds, two assists and one block in 22 minutes.
Davis' play had fallen off considerable recently and a move to the bench was justifiable, with the big man averaging just 7.0 points and 6.9 rebounds in 25 minutes in his last seven games. Any value Davis was seeing outside of deep leagues is done for the time being.

Davis (nose) scored 20 points (7-9 FG, 6-8 FT) and added eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks in 28 minutes against the Grizzlies Friday. It was his first game since breaking his nose Tuesday, and he played the game wearing a protective mask.
Though Davis had a great game overall, he missed a free throw attempt late that would have tied the game with only seconds remaining. From the fantasy perspective, the most important takeaway is probably that it seems as though Davis' production will not be hampered by the use of a protective face mask. Davis has now scored double digit points in seven of his past eight games, and grabbed at least eight rebounds in five of those games. Davis is emerging as a player who can score, rebound, pass, and block shots. At present, he is probably under-owned, though if this productivity continues, that is unlikely to last very long.
Thu Jan 1 201517:07Davis (nose) hoping to play Friday against Grizzlies
Davis (nose) is hoping to play Friday against the Grizzlies.
Davis suffered a broken nose in the Lakers' last game Tuesday, but he was able to practice with a mask Thursday, so he will have a chance to play in the Lakers' next game. While he was on the floor, Davis was held out of the contact portions of Thursday's practice, so consider him questionable until the Lakers make a final call on his status sometime Friday.

Davis (nose) will wear a mask for Friday's game against the Grizzlies.
Davis sustained a broken nose near the end of Tuesday's game, but it doesn't appear to be anything that will cause him to miss time.

Davis suffered a broken nose Tuesday on a last-minute foul by Nate Robinson, Lakers reporter Mike Trudell reports.
He said he is OK after the game, and just hopes to not have to wear a protective mask. He will see a doctor in Los Angeles on Wednesday and should be considered day-to-day for now.

Davis went just 1-for-6 from the floor Friday in a loss to the Mavericks, but went 8-for-10 from the free-throw line to pick up a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
This was Davis' second consecutive double-dobule, and he's scored double-digit points in each of his past five games. Davis doesn't do one thing particularly well, but in his 10 previous starts since coming in over Carlos Boozer, he averaged 9.0 points on 65 percent shooting in addition to 6.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks. Because he's able to pick up various stats on a nightly basis, he's a low-end fantasy option at power forward, considering he averages just 23 minutes per game this season.

Davis scored a season-high 18 points (8-10 FG, 2-2 FT) Friday in a loss to the Thunder, his highest point total since Dec. 3 of last year.
Davis started the game and finished one rebound short of a double-double. The Lakers seem to be doing well with Davis starting and Carlos Boozer coming off the bench, but Boozer continues to be the better fantasy option.

Davis scored 11 points (5-5 FG, 1-4 FT) and added six rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes of action against the Kings on Tuesday.
Although Davis got the start agains the Kings, Carlos Boozer actually played more minutes (28) and played better as he earned a +13 for his plus/minus for the game and Davis was rated at a -9 for the game. In Davis' second game as a starter he did little to solidify his spot.

Davis scored 12 points (5-6 FG, 2-4 FT) and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds with two blocks in 30 minutes as the team's new starting power forward Sunday.
Davis had been threatening to take the starter's job all season and the move was finally made, but Davis was solid rather than spectacular. If he continues to get 30 minutes a night, Davis is worth owning in most leagues, but it's unknown whether the lineup switch is temporary or permanent. Davis is currently shooting just 42 percent from the line, so bear that in mind if deciding to add him to your roster.
Sun Dec 7 201414:41Ed Davis: Moved Into Starting Five
Davis will be moved into the starting lineup Sunday against the Pelicans.
Coach Byron Scott has decided to go with Davis over Carlos Boozer on Sunday, although it would be somewhat surprising if this was a permanent change. Nevertheless, Davis will likely see an increased role against the Pelicans on Sunday.

Davis moved back to the bench with Carlos Boozer back in the lineup and scored two points (1-3 FG) with eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and three blocks in 23 minutes Wednesday.
After a one game stint as the starter, Davis was back in his more familiar role as a back-up big man and once again, provided the sort of numbers we've come to expect. He's averaging just 7.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game in 22 minutes of action this season, but will be a guy to own in most leagues if he supplants Boozer as the starter.
Wed Nov 26 201415:38Davis (ankle) will come off bench Wednesday against Grizzlies
Davis (ankle) will come off the bench Wednesday against the Grizzlies, ESPN Radio Los Angeles reports.
Davis started in place of Carlos Boozer (shoulder) on Sunday, but fouled out early and picked up only four points and five boards. With Boozer back in the lineup, he will return to the bench and will likely continue to see about 22 minutes per game.
Tue Nov 25 201415:53Davis (ankle) will play Wednesday against Grizzlies
Davis (ankle) will play Wednesday against the Grizzlies, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports.
Davis, who did not practice Monday due to a sore ankle, was fine Tuesday and could start Wednesday's game against his former team if Carlos Boozer, who's questionable with a shoulder injury, ends up sitting out. The North Carolina product is still fairly limited offensively but has two double-digit rebounding games on the season, one of which came in only 19 minutes against the Rockets last Wednesday.
Mon Nov 24 201415:20Davis sat out Monday's practice due to soreness in ankle
Davis sat out Monday's practice due to soreness in his ankle.
Davis will be re-evaluated Tuesday, at which point we should have more clarity with regards to his status for Wednesday's game against Memphis. He played 22 minutes Sunday against the Nuggets and left the game during the fourth quarter to ice his ankle in the locker room. However, he told Lakers.com's Mike Trudell that he won't miss any time.
