An MRI of the elbow showed no damage, so Logan will just require a few days rest. Logan, 28, has yet to pitch this spring, but it's still too early to know about his availability for Opening Day. The left-handed reliever had a 3.74 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 55 1/3 innings last year for the Yankees.

Boone Logan is going through a "dead arm" phase.
Logan was unavailable to pitch Friday, which resulted in the Yankees going to Aaron Laffey in the ninth inning of a tie game. He also was off-limits Saturday, and it's not clear when manager Joe Girardi will use him again. Logan has had a nice year for the Bronx Bombers, posting a 2.92 ERA and 42/11 K/BB ratio over 37 innings.

Logan made $590,000 last season as a first-year arbitration case. He deserved the sizable raise for 2011 after posting a 2.93 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 51 appearances in 2010 and holding left-handed batters to a .190/.286/.215 batting line. The southpaw should be used heavily this year.
