Thu Apr 15 2010 | 16:33 | Astros snap eight-game losing streak |
Jeff Keppinger drove in three runs with a double and a single to lead the Astros to a 5-1 win over the Cardinals on Thursday, snapping Houston's eight-game losing streak to open the season. |
The Astros really have no choice but to play Keppinger regularly until some of their other guys start hitting. He's batting .391 with four doubles in 23 at-bats. Plus, he's drawn half of the team's eight walks on the season. Keppinger played shortstop today, but he can also start at second and third until he cools off. |
Wed Apr 7 2010 | 13:58 | Keppinger starts at shortstop on Wednesday |
Jeff Keppinger will start at shortstop for Wednesday's game against the Giants. |
Tommy Manzella was hit in the wrist by a pitch during Tuesday's game, so he'll sit this one out. Keppinger will bat seventh against Matt Cain. Also of note, Geoff Blum is back in the lineup at first base, with Pedro Feliz moving back over to third base. |
