Wed Aug 9 202316:27Justin Turner Absent From BoSox's Lineup
As expected, Boston Red Sox infielder/designated hitter Justin Turner (heel) will miss another game on Wednesday against the visiting Kansas City Royals, and he'll likely be out on Thursday for the series finale in KC, too. Trevor Story is serving as the DH on Wednesday and is hitting third again, while Pablo Reyes will play the 6 and bat ninth against Royals right-hander Jordan Lyles. Turner is still battling through a bruised left heel that caused him to miss a handful of games last week as well. The 38-year-old isn't expected to go on the injured list, though, so hopefully fantasy managers will get him back this weekend against the Detroit Tigers. Despite almost being 40 years old, Turner has been a must-start in fantasy leagues in 2023 due to his run production.

Wed Aug 9 202312:19Justin Turner To Miss More Time
Boston Red Sox infielder/designated hitter Justin Turner (heel) sat out on Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals after missing four straight games last week due to a heel bruise he suffered on July 31. Turner went just 2-for-10 in the last three games and still isn't 100 percent. Manager Alex Cora said Turner will likely avoid the injured list, but he will likely be out of the lineup again for a couple of days to recover. "He's a little banged up," Cora said. "We're probably gonna stay away from J.T. today, tomorrow and maybe the last game of the series. Hopefully, we can get him ready for the weekend." Fantasy managers need to act accordingly and keep Turner on their benches until this weekend. He's been a must-start for his ability to produce runs regularly in 2023.

Tue Aug 8 202317:34Justin Turner Resting Tuesday
Boston Red Sox infielder/designated hitter Justin Turner will take the day off on Tuesday against the visiting Kansas City Royals. Outfielder Masataka Yoshida will serve as the team's designated hitter and will bat second against Royals right-hander Brady Singer. Turner has missed some time recently with a left-heel contusion, but he was able to serve as the DH in the last three games. Boston will give the 38-year-old veteran a day off here to rest up. The two-time All-Star isn't quite done despite being nearly 40 years of age. In his first year in Beantown, he's produced nicely for fantasy managers, slashing .284/.353/.474 with an .826 OPS, 17 home runs, 25 doubles, 71 RBI, four steals and 67 runs scored in 105 games. Turner has been a must-start in all fantasy leagues in 2023.

Fri Aug 4 202316:09Justin Turner Still Out Of Action
Boston Red Sox third baseman Justin Turner (heel) remains out of the team's starting lineup on Friday against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. Masataka Yoshida will continue to serve as the designated hitter while batting third, with Jarren Duran in left field and batting leadoff against Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah. Turner hasn't played at all this week due to a left-heel contusion, but he should be able to avoid the injured list as long as he can return at some point this weekend. The newly acquired Luis Urias is starting at the keystone for Boston and batting eighth in his debut with the club. Despite his age, Turner has been great for fantasy managers in 2023, mostly for his ability to drive in runs. UPDATE: Turner will be available off the bench on Friday, so he should definitely return to the starting lineup at some point this weekend, possibly Saturday.

Thu Aug 3 202308:39Justin Turner Looking To Return Friday
Boston Red Sox infielder/designated hitter Justin Turner (heel) has missed the past two games with a left-heel contusion, but the 38-year-old and manager Alex Cora are targeting a Friday return with the off day Thursday. Turner's slashing .286/.356/.481 with 17 homers, 66 runs, 71 RBI, and four stolen bases over 102 contests. The 15-year veteran is valuable in all formats as a solid hitter in the middle of Boston's lineup.

Turner suffered a left-heel contusion on Monday and hasn't played since. With a scheduled off day for the team on Thursday, hopefully Turner can return to face the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Friday. The 38-year-old veteran has been an RBI machine all year, but especially in the last two months. Overall, he's hitting .286/.356/.481 with an .837 OPS, 17 home runs, 71 RBI, four stolen bases and 66 runs scored in 391 at-bats.

Tue Aug 1 202319:28Justin Turner Out With Injury Tuesday
Boston Red Sox third baseman Justin Turner (heel) is not in Tuesday's starting lineup against the Seattle Mariners and rookie right-hander Bryce Miller. Masataka Yoshida is serving as the designated hitter and batting third, while Jarren Duran starts in left field and bats leadoff against Miller. Turner left Monday's game early with a left-heel contusion, so it shouldn't be a huge surprise that he's not playing on Tuesday. The 38-year-old should be considered day-to-day this week. Despite being almost 40, Turner continues to produce for fantasy managers in all league sizes. He's been a must-start while slashing .286/.356/.481 with an .837 OPS, 17 long balls, 71 RBI, four stolen bases and 66 runs scored in 391 at-bats. Hopefully, he'll be back in there on Wednesday.

Tue Aug 1 202312:00Justin Turner Day-To-Day With Heel Contusion
Boston Red Sox third baseman/designated hitter Justin Turner (heel) is being considered day-to-day with a left-heel contusion after leaving Monday night's game early against the Seattle Mariners. Turner injured himself while trying to beat out an infield single in the ninth inning on Monday night and had to be removed. Fantasy managers should expect the 38-year-old to rest for at least a day on Tuesday, if not more. Despite his advanced age, Turner has been solid and an RBI machine in his first year in Boston. He's currently hitting .286/.356/.481 with an .837 OPS, 17 home runs, 25 doubles, 71 RBI, four stolen bases and 66 runs scored in 102 games. He was excellent in July, going 30-for-89 (.337) with five homers, eight doubles, 28 RBI and 18 runs scored in 23 games.

Tue Aug 1 202300:45Justin Turner Exits Early Monday
Boston Red Sox second/third baseman Justin Turner (unknown) exited Monday's 6-2 loss to the Mariners in the ninth inning after legging out an RBI infield single, per NESN's Tom Caron. Turner, who was designated hitting, went 1-for-4 with an RBI, a walk, and two strikeouts. The 38-year-old has been a great fantasy asset this season, slashing .286/.356/.481 with 17 home runs and 71 RBI. Fri Jul 21 202315:06Justin Turner Shifts To Second Base
Boston Red Sox infielder Justin Turner normally serves as the designated hitter, but will actually get to play the field on Friday. The 38-year-old will cover second base for the seventh time this season. He's also started at third base seven starts this season, but usually serves as the DH. The fact he's moving around to second base this often might give him that eligibility in fantasy leagues. Enrique Hernandez will head to the bench with Turner covering second base versus Kodai Senga on Friday.

Fri Jul 14 202317:52Justin Turner Starting At Second Base
Boston Red Sox third baseman/designated hitter Justin Turner is getting the starting nod at second base on Friday against Chicago Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks to kick off the second half of the season. He's hitting third in the batting order. Turner will make his first start at the keystone since 2015 as the Red Sox look for more offense entering the second half of the season. The 38-year-old veteran slugger is probably unlikely to gain second-base eligibility for fantasy managers, however. Turner is still a solid source of batting average (.288) and on-base percentage (.362) and can still provide decent power numbers (13 homers and 52 RBI) in his first year in Beantown. With Turner at second, Masataka Yoshida will serve as Boston's designated hitter on Friday.

Wed Jul 5 202321:30Justin Turner Could Play Second Base In The Coming Days
Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that infielder/designated hitter Justin Turner could be seen at second base in the coming days so that the team can maximize their offense. Christian Arroyo has been seeing most of the starts at the keystone for the BoSox, but he's hitting just .242 (36-for-149) with three homers, 18 RBI and a stolen base on the year. Turner, on the other hand, is slashing .279/.352/.460 with an .812 OPS, 13 homers, 47 RBI and four stolen bases. The 38-year-old veteran has appeared at second base in Boston only four times in 2023, but his last start there came in September of 2015. Fantasy managers shouldn't count on Turner gaining second-base eligibility for the second half of this year.

Mon Jun 19 202316:55Justin Turner Resting On Monday
Boston Red Sox designated hitter Justin Turner is out of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Fantasy managers don't need to be concerned as this appears to be a routine rest day for the veteran infielder. Masataka Yoshida will function as the designated hitter, while Triston Casas covers first base versus right-hander Pablo Lopez on Monday. Fantasy managers should expect Turner to be back in the lineup after this game.

Mon May 22 202319:14Justin Turner Back In Action Against Angels
Boston Red Sox third baseman Justin Turner (knee) is back in the starting lineup on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Jaime Barria, serving as the designated hitter and batting third in the lineup. Turner had missed the last two games over the weekend after leaving Friday's game against the San Diego Padres with left-knee soreness. It wasn't a serious injury for the 38-year-old veteran, though, and fantasy managers will have him available again to begin a new week. Turner continues to make plenty of contact and get on base, as he's slashing .279/.370/.424 with nine doubles, five home runs, 18 RBI, two stolen bases and 28 runs scored in 45 games in his first year in Beantown. Get him back into your fantasy lineups.

Boston Red Sox third baseman/designated hitter Justin Turner (knee) is out once again for Sunday's series finale against the San Diego Padres. The veteran third baseman will miss his second straight game after he exited Friday's contest early with left knee soreness. Sat May 20 202309:04Justin Turner Exits Friday, Unlikely To Play Saturday
Boston Red Sox designated hitter/third baseman Justin Turner (knee) left Friday's tilt with the San Diego Padres early after experiencing left knee soreness. Red Sox skipper Alex Cora said following the game that Turner will "probably" be out of the lineup on Saturday and that he hopes the 38-year-old returns on Sunday. It's a tough break for Turner, who was heating up in May while slashing .318/.385/.544 with three homers and nine RBI in the month. Fantasy managers should monitor this situation throughout the course of the weekend.

Wed May 17 202303:24Justin Turner Smacks Fourth Homer Of The Season
Boston Red Sox designated hitter/third baseman Justin Turner went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a triumph over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday. The 38-year-old carries on a very workmanlike season as Boston's everyday three-hole hitter. He hasn't run particularly hot any at point this year, but Turner hasn't witnessed his on-base percentage dip below .326 at all. The two-time all-star's propensity for simply getting aboard prevents him from being rostered in more 5x5 roto leagues, but he's still slashing a fairly staunch .269/.365/.400 with 16 RBI and two swipes on the campaign. Turner should remain a staple of the top-five Red Sox offense in terms of runs produced.
