Jose Tabata had a huge day at the plate Saturday, as he went 4-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored.
Tabata had a two-run homer in the top of the third inning and an RBI double in the fifth. He needed a triple for the cycle, but fell short in his last plate appearance by flying out to left-center field in the ninth. The 24-year-old outfielder is 7-for-11 over the first three games and has pulled his batting average up from .200 to .279. It's nice to see, but he shouldn't be a consideration in mixed leagues until he becomes a regular in Clint Hurdle's lineup again.
