In order to clear a 25-man roster spot for Saturday's scheduled starting pitcher, Josh Tomlin, Armstrong was deemed an expendable piece in the Tribe's bullpen and sent back to the minors. Armstrong logged the first two big-league appearances of his career during the call-up period, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings and striking out four batters.

Armstrong will make his major league debut likely operating out of middle relief to begin. He's also allowed a grand total of seven home runs in his professional career spanning five years and 206.2 innings, including none allowed in 2015.
