Josh Johnson (finger) will have his next start pushed back to Monday against the Rockies.

Thu Jun 13 201319:14Josh Johnson pushed back due to blister
Josh Johnson's next start has been pushed back from Saturday to Sunday due to a blister.
Given that he's only being pushed back a day, the Blue Jays don't seem to have much concern. R.A. Dickey will move up a day to start Saturday.

Sun Jun 9 201316:26Josh Johnson struggles against Rangers
Josh Johnson yielded three runs on five hits and four walks over just five innings in Sunday's loss to the Rangers.
Johnson was unable to consistently find the strike zone all day, as he required 109 pitches to complete the five frames. He's now been good in one start and bad in another since coming back from the DL, which accurately describes his season so far. He'll carry a 5.40 ERA and 1.64 WHIP into a tough matchup in Texas next weekend.

Wed Jun 5 201301:13Josh Johnson strikes out six in return
Josh Johnson was effective in his return from the DL, allowing two runs -- one earned -- over seven innings in a loss to the Giants.
Johnson gave up a two-run homer to Andres Torres in the second after an Edwin Encarnacion throwing error opened the frame. Unfortunately, that was all the Giants would need tonight in a 2-1 game. Johnson struck out six and walked none, so it was an encouraging performance after a six-week absence. He'll get the White Sox next.

Fri May 31 201320:46Josh Johnson (triceps) to return Tuesday
Josh Johnson (triceps) will be activated from the disabled list to start Tuesday against the Giants.
Johnson gave up six runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings Thursday in his third rehab start, but the important part is that he feels good. The 29-year-old right-hander has been sidelined since April 21 with right triceps inflammation. He had a 6.86 ERA over his first four starts, so fantasy owners may want to wait and see before activating him.

Josh Johnson (triceps) allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks over just 4 2/3 frames in a rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo Thursday.
He struck out three. The rehab outing was supposed to be his last, but it's possible the Blue Jays will change their minds given the result. However, as long as Johnson feels healthy, it's a good bet that he'll return next week.

Sun May 26 201313:37Josh Johnson looks good in rehab start
Josh Johnson (triceps) struck out three over four scoreless innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.
Johnson is looking good and, more importantly, feeling healthy, but he'll need one more rehab start before rejoining the Blue Jays' rotation. He held a 6.86 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in four starts before getting injury but is a good DL stash if he's been dropped in your league.

Johnson struck out five over three innings of one-run ball on Monday with High-A Dunedin. He's feeling good physically, but the right-hander obviously needs to build up his stamina. He'll rejoin the rotation in early June if he can avoid a setback.

Good news. Johnson hasn't pitched since April 21 due to right triceps inflammation, but he hasn't had any issues during his throwing program. The Blue Jays have yet to announce where he'll pitch initially and it's unclear how many starts he'll need before he's activated. Still, he's making progress.

Johnson is expected to throw one more long-toss session before getting back on a mound. If all goes well, he could begin a minor league rehab assignment sometime next week, though it all depends on how he feels as he builds up his workload. Josh Johnson (triceps) is aiming to make a minor league rehab start around May 21.
Johnson landed on the disabled list last week due to right triceps inflammation, but an MRI came back negative and he's been cleared to begin a throwing progream. Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos expects that he will need two rehab starts before rejoining the big club, so fantasy owners shouldn't expect him back until the early part of June.

Josh Johnson (triceps) has traveled to Florida for further evaluation.
Johnson was originally expected to only miss one start, but the Blue Jays decided to place him on the disabled list after he felt discomfort while playing catch on Wednesday. We should know more about a timeline after he goes for more tests. Ricky Romero will replace him in the rotation, but he's a wait and see option in most fantasy leagues.

Thu May 2 201313:47Josh Johnson (triceps) lands on disabled list
Blue Jays placed RHP Josh Johnson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 29, with a triceps injury.
An MRI taken earlier this week on Johnson's throwing arm showed no structural damage, but the Jays are going to play it safe. Johnson has posted an ugly 6.86 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 19/9 K/BB ratio in 19 2/3 innings this season. Maybe the rest will wind up doing him some good.

Johnson was scratched from Friday's start against the Yankees due to right triceps tightness, but the hope is that he'll only have to miss one start. While MRI results aren't yet known, the Blue Jays are confident that it will come back clean. Aaron Laffey is starting in his place Friday night against New York.
